Lux was not impressed with Lava's Tackle attacks, easily batting them away without breaking his concentration. Thankfully for Lava, he was barely hitting him , otherwise the Cyndaquil would have had a serious headache after the first few swats. When the Ember was fired, he was forced to break focus and flare him his own flames to protect himself. Not the most powerful attack but it was enough for him to react defensively. "Good job! All it takes is confidence. Cyndaquil and their evolutions often have an emotional tie with their flames." Lykas said as Lux trotted over to him. "The more emotion Lava feels, the more powerful his fire will become. But fear and courage are not always reliable emotions." He informed, knowing this from experience.
"Lava! Quil quilava quil quil." Lux barked, congratulating Lava on his improvement.
"Now then....I'm pretty sure I saw Lava use Flame Wheel while we were at the lab. That'll be a reliable move for him to use for attacks as well as defensive and mobility maneuvers." He explained as he knelt down by Lux once more.
"Since Lava's showing signs of improvement, let's work on him getting the hang of that move now. If he can summon his fire at will to use Flame Wheel, he should be able to use it a lot better than before. So we're going to use Lava Plume to attack now, since he won't be hurt as badly by Fire-type moves. Try using Flame Wheel to dodge and counterattack." He told the younger trainer, nodding to Lux.
The Quilava gave Lava a look that said 'get ready' and slammed a foot into the floor. A glowing red spot appeared on the floor underneath Lava, growing brighter by the moment, before a mushroom shaped burst of almost liquid fire erupted from the ground. He'd need to react quickly to avoid this,

Dan nodded, appreciating Odd's vote of confidence. There was a goal he was aiming for and he'd be damned if he wasn't going to accomplish it. He was determined to see this through to the end and return successful. Waving goodbye, he returned to his room to prepare for the journey ahead of him. Part of him thought he should pack light to move quicker but another insisted he pack more just in case. How long would he be away? Not that long, right? Moving back down to the lobby, Dan gave HQ another look over before heading out.
Alex study the fight carefully, taking notes on Cyndaquil and fire types in general. Granted, she probably wouldn't ever have a fire type but you never know. Meanwhile, Lillipup was glad to train with Squirrel and Lightning, expressing his desire to be stronger. He was especially small for a Lillipup but he never let that stop him from giving his 110%.
Connor would appear in the lobby, thinking to take a break. His was glad with the progress in training both Torchic and Asura but something was missing. Like he needed a small push to further their training to the next level. While he was thinking it over, he overheard the discussion about an undercover mission. He didn't know what was going on but his interest was peaked.

At Lux's approval, Lava couldn't help smiling with a hint of pride. His flames were burning brighter than before, but they weren't at the strength he'd seen in the lab or in the forest. Arthur noticed this, but still was happy that Lava was improving. Listening to Lykas's trainer tips, Arthur nodded before waiting for the Lava Plume. "Concentrate Lava," he said. Lava snapped to attention in response. "Close your eyes and sense the power of fire within. Don't worrry about the Lava Plume, I'll tell you when its coming. Just remember what it felt like to use that Flame Wheel."
Closing his eyes, Lava saw scenes from the past flashing through his mind. He winced at the anger or fear he had felt at the time, but tried to look past it. Lava needed to remember the feeling of fire...not the emotions. "Here it comes," Arthur said when he saw the red spot. Lava had to act fast before he was overtaken. Remembering the fire, he tried to engulf himself completely. "Do it now!" Arthur shouted when the liquid flames came up. Lava managed to cover itself in flames now, but it was a little too late. As the Lava Plume engulfed him, though, Lava would keep up his concentration. Moments later, he shot through the lava as a spinning ball of fire. With all the damage he'd taken thus far, Blaze was activating.
Meanwhile, Lightning would float around Lillipup before nodding approvingly. Seeing this, Squirrel had a sudden idea. [Tag Team] he said. [You and Lighting against me. A little speed training would do us all some good. Or we could always try the every Pokemon for himself method. Me vs. You vs. You.] Lightning for one agreed with every man for himself. A tag team would be too dangerous considering his electricity might accidentally hit Lillipup as well.

"A Magnemite and a..." Arthur trailed off as he briefly scanned over Nacrearcus. "Castform," he finished. "You'll just have to let your flames burn brighter Lava." The Cyndaquil let out his best impression of a battle cry, though it was soft and quiet. Glancing at both the opponents, Lava wondered who would make the first move. However, it was actually Arthur who wanted him to make the first move. "Smokescreen," he called out. He figured that concealment would help prevent both of them ganging up on Lava.
While the smoke began to cover the area, Squirrel would skid to a stop after passing Lillipup before turning and launching for Lightning. Barreling backwards from the attack, Lightning sent a wild stream of thundershocks, which simply went around in no particular direction. When he finally stopped, he realized he'd managed to hit Squirrel with a stray bolt. Taking this as a good sign, Lightning released the while stream of thundershocks yet again. A few of these stray bolts were aimed at Squirrel while the rest unknowingly came for Lillipup.

Kaya Rayvn sat in Snagem HQ with his newly hatched Togepi, wondering how things were going back at Relic Forest since he, Toren and Amaranth had used Anael's hatching to purify the shrine.
"Alright, Anael. It's lunch time." He told the Normal-type in a sweet voice. The Togepi nodded and pulled out a small piece of purplish stone from her shell, slowly chewing on it. "Don't chew on your Eviolite, Anael. I'll get you some food in just a minute." He assured the little Pokemon as he carried her to the kitchen and quickly poured her a bottle of MooMoo Milk, having purchased this especially for her. It took a moment or two but he was able to get the milk warmed up just enough for her to not dislike the coldness by rolling the bottle between his hands.
"Togi!" Anael cheered when she saw the bottle approaching, quickly dropping her Eviolite back inside her shell for now as she reached for Kaya and her lunch. "Haha. Alright, settle down." The human responded as he scooped her up from the table, where he'd set her while he prepared her food. He'd start working on getting her to eat mashed berries next week. according to his mother, baby Pokemon didn't take long before they could easily eat solid foods and often would be capable of it long before they began to want to.

Kairi and Dante were both sitting in the training room, finally getting to the training which they had planned to do for ages now. Tetra and Nina were faced off against each other, as the two Fire-types were in need of training. The Houndour pup growled at the Vulpix which appeared to be growling right back. Despite the fact Tetra was still only a puppy, she was larger than Dante's Vulpix. The Dark Pokemon and the Fox Pokemon were fairly evenly matched at this point, as the two had been practicing for hours now.
"Tetra, Faint Attack!" Kairi called out. Tetra, however, had other ideas, as she lay down. Nina did the same, and both Pokemon seemed to be panting a little. "Hey, Kairi... I think it's time we let the two of them rest. They've been at this for hours, and we've made a lot of progress already," Dante said, picking up his Vulpix and cradling her in his arms. Kairi nodded in agreement, and sat down next to her Houndour, lightly petting her head, scratching her behind the ears. The pup crawled into her trainer's lap, licking her free hand happily as she got more pets and scratches behind the ears. "You sure do like that, don't you Tetra?" Kairi asked, her voice actually somewhat sweet. Tetra barked in response and nuzzled her face against Kairi's hand, causing the girl to chuckle. "Yeah, that's what I thought."
Tsura entered the room there, her Toxicroak walking along behind her. "You guys all done, or are one of you up for helping me train Narcissus?" the girl asked, smiling and resting a hand on the side of her Toxicroak's face. Kairi looked up at her best friend and then looked back down to her Houndour. "Tetra is pretty tuckered out right now. I would train with you Tsura, but, the only Pokemon of mine I would use to help in your training at the moment I don't currently have with me," she finally said, fiddling with the feather in her hair as she did so. "That's alright Kairi, we can train later," Tsura said with a smile, tilting her head.
