"Last year, Ryukai and Shishuri were almost killed by a gang to whom they owed money. Ryukai had gotten a loan so that he could get food for him and Shishuri. He was shot in the heart three times and once in a lung, and Shishuri was worse. Namato and I, who were already vampires, happened to be coming by and gave them some of our blood, saving them but also changing them. To this day Ryukai hasn't gotten over it. He distrusts everyone."

"Stop laughing!" Holly laughed slightly and playfully had vines bind Nimno and cover her mouth. "We don't have to try that. We could try and beat him bloody until he trusts that we will never kill him. Any better?"

Nimino pursed her lips together, then said, "I got it! We just gotta act something out. I know Shishuri is important to him; So we pretend that she's hurt, and then we help her."
