Living in servetude (sassiechicka and shuro2009)

[sassiechicka]

"Yes I am. The princess loves me as a younger sister. She has defended me numerous times against her mother. Her brother told the queen that I had refused his proposal. I'm not that pretty. I don't understand why all these princes want plain Emily. I'm nothing special. Do you see something special about me, Kyo?"  

[Shuro2009]

He smiled.
"Any man would be lucky to win your heart. You are beautiful no matter how much you deny it, but that's not all. I don't think it's always your physical appearance that draws people in. It's your personality."  

[sassiechicka]

"Well around the princes I was told to flirt but hold back on anything physical between them. The only man that will ever have me in that way is whomever I marry and at the moment marriage isn't an option. I have to get the princess settled down before I can even consider anything personal. She is my best friend and I have to see to her happiness. I honestly think your prince is one whom will steal her heart. Then maybe..." She trailed off mid-sentence just thinking about having more time with Kyo gave her butterflies.  

[Shuro2009]

"I think the princess is very lucky to have someone as wonderful as you looking out for her."  

[sassiechicka]

"It's my duty as her attendant to watch over her. It was what I was trained to do. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. The queen has tried to put me in different positions. I was the cooks assistant for a day. I've done a bit of everything at the castle, but alas the princess has always rescued me from whatever her mother has done. We have a bond together. I'd like to think an unbreakable bond. I just know I have the option of whomever I marry to stay by her side until she passes on or I pass on. So if she marries your prince, then I am to follow her to his kingdom."  

[Shuro2009]

He nodded.
"i can't think of a postion I haven't filled at one point of another."  

[sassiechicka]

"Well for her afternoon meal, I actually get to eat with her. Then when she naps I can nap also if I like, but normally I run down to the stables. So what do you do when your prince premits you to leave his side?"  

[Shuro2009]

"Mainly I put to work in other areas that i'm needed. When there is nothing else, I tend to go to the gardens, stables, or sleep. But it's rare that there is no job for me somewhere in the castle. They really don't like it when slaves aren't working, though the prince could careless."  

[sassiechicka]

"Well at times it can be, but at times I don't think being her attendant leaves me to love anyone outside of her. I don't think I could ever have a life of my own. You at least have some skills. If he released you, you could at least go work in a town or something. I'd end up on the street working for whatever I could get. Paying men however I can."  

[Shuro2009]

"You have your own skills. You'd probably do well as a waitress or maid."  

[sassiechicka]

" I'm glad someone thinks highly of my skills. "  

[Shuro2009]

"i'm sure others do, they just don't know how to say it."  

[sassiechicka]

" Well as long as the princess acknowledges my existence and you obviously seem to like me."  

[Shuro2009]

"You could say that. Is there anything else you want to show me?"  

[sassiechicka]

"Would you like to see the castle?"
