Jessamine stumbled through the forest blindly. Branches whipped at her face and tugged at her hair but she paid them no mind. It was all over, she had laid herself bare for the one she loved and he had condemned her for it. Now, she was alone once again and now pregnant. Her heart leaped into her throat, she didn't know how to take care of herself much less children. What would happen if she lost herself to the bloodlust while they were around? Would she recognize them in that state, or would she kill them by accident?
Yet, she could not bring herself to think of giving them up. They were all she had left of him now...'Well, not quite.'
When she attacked him - he deserved to feel her pain - it had knocked many feathers out of his wings. She'd picked some up. Just as a reminder...of her love, her loss, her failings...
The sun was rising but she didn't care. Let her skin burn and her vision dim, what did it matter anymore? The fine white hairs on her coat did little to protect her white skin from the rays of the sun and even in the scant light of dawn she could tell it was already starting. Her eyes, acute in the night, watered and burned in the bright light of day. Too much sun and she would see spots for days, and be in agony at the sunburns on her body as well.
A kick from inside reminded her that she was not just watching out for herself anymore. With a wince, not from pain but from the reminder, she sought the shade of a far-reaching tree.
-NOT DONE-
