Rolling onto his back he accepted her hand up."I'll remember that, thanks. I wasn't expecting that and got a little too big for my own good. Would you like to try again? This time I won't go easy."

Kaeanlanna could have sworn she felt something when he took her hand, but shrugged it off as nothing. "Fine, but this time, you go first.." She said, tossing him his staff back and preparing herself.

Raudr twirled his staff around quickly and brought it back down this time gripping it with both hands but now he wielding the staff as a sort of spear. He charged her and swung his staff toward her middle from the right. This strike was faster and stronger than before hand.

Kaeanlanna moved in the nick of time as she felt the staff graze her side. She was sure it scratched her through the fabric. Once again, she grabbed the staff, this time with both hands, and still holding onto hers, and used his momentum against him.

Raudr let go of his staff and grabbed Kaeanlanna's so that she would have to either be pulled along or let go of her own staff. Nice try, but the same trick doesn't work twice on me.

Kaeanlanna noticed that he let go of his own staff and grabbed hers, so, she took his, and let hers go. She stumbled a little, but wasn't in his way.

As she stumbled Raudr kept going with his momentum. He stopped and brought his staff back towards Kaeanlanna, this time aiming for the back of her legs.

Kaeanlanna turned to look at Raudr, and saw he was aiming for the back of her legs. Making sure she got her timing right, she dropped to the ground and rolled seconds before the staff would have hit her, and in the process, she grabbed around his ankle.

Raudr saw her drop and roll out of the way and then felt her grab his ankle. He turned his head to face her and said, "Looks like I win this time." He held out his hand to help her up.

Kaeanlanna raised an eyebrow. "If that was intentional, how did you win?" She asked, taking his hand.

Raudr shrugged and pulled her up."You managed to get me on the ground so I simply returned the favor. And that wasn't all planned out since I didn't think you would try to use the same technique from the first match. Unfortunately I don't know you that well... yet. Are you ok?" ((I'm done for tonight. I don't really want to go to sleep but I need it for tomorrow. Man! This story is getting better every day.))

Kaeanlanna stood up. "Well, it wasn't exactly the same..." She pointed out. "And at least I chose to drop on the ground." Keenan laughed, well, at least it sounded like a laugh to her in her head. He thought they had been amusing.

"I'll consider that close enough. It would seem that your fine with a staff but how much training have you done with a sword?"Raudr was also curious on how long she had been using his father's sword but didn't express this in words.

Kaeanlanna shrugged. "Most of my training was with a sword, but I've never used the one I showed you. I just found it yesterday..." She explained, leaving out the part that she went digging for it because he had freaked her out.

"So I take it your not used to it's size, length, and weight yet, then?" Raudr figured if she could learn at least how to wield his father's sword for now then she could protect herself or help him when the time came.
