Velika had always been a social creature. She came from a large family, and would have happily stayed part of the flock for her entire life. But fate had other plans for her. When she was just barely an adult, an illness ravaged her flock, killing the majority of her family. Those who didn’t perish of disease were hunted and eventually died until only Velika was left.
She struck out on her own, longing for another flock to call her own. Not to replace her lost family, but to chase away the loneliness that had settled in at the loss of her former flock.
Soaring High – She met others who seemed to love flying as much as she, but not particularly interested in giving up their solitary lives.
Fluttering Along – Others seemed interested in forming a bond, but lacked the gift of flight that was so important to her. Though, she was always happy to make more friends.
Flights of Fancy – Finally, just when she was beginning to think she would never find a new home, she met Aydan and Sonja, a pair of siblings who couldn’t have been more different. Sonja was fun and adventurous. Aydan a bit solemn and protective. They welcomed Velika into their lives. She traveled with them for a time, but it wasn’t until they ran afoul of a skinwalker that they truly became a family.
Time After Time - Their escape bonded them together, and it was during her nursing Aydan’s injuries that the two grew even closer and fonder of one another. Sonja, who viewed Velika as a sister, encouraged the relationship that bloomed between Aydan and Velika.
Velika’s family grew even further when she and Aydan had two beautiful daughters and a son every bit as handsome as his father. Sonja spoiled her nieces, teaching them all the best ways to terrify their father. All the while, Velika looked on with fondness and love for her flock.

Dark Dark Clouds and a Silver Lining – As children, Idris and her sister viewed their Aunt Sonja as the go to source for fun and games. This… wasn’t exactly something that their father found reassuring. Their mother loved anything that encouraged her family to bond closer together. However, the end result was that, when they grew up, both girls were fearless and had an unhealthy interest in scaring their poor father. Unhealthy for Aydan that was.
Flights of Color - In which Duga and Idris meet and have an interesting conversation before going their separate ways.
{PRP} Sassy Friend - Idris meets Amaranth, an oddly somber mare. They engage in a conversation about their lives and states of happiness.
Chance Meetings - Idris meets Tropo, an unusually disjointed stallion. The meeting doesn't last long, just long enough to Idris to realize that there's flighty and then there's scattered.
I Stole a Dalek! -- When Idris meets Darvos, he's badly injured and in need of assistance. Not that he was willing to admit it. No one to be above some trickery, Idris blackmailed him into allowing her to nurse him back to health.
