Werder manager Klaus Allofs stated in the Kicker, that he wants Özil to stay at Werder, since he is very young and needs at least 1 or 2 other years at his homecountry before leaving to other leagues. He and many other critics said, that he might be lucky, but he also might ruin his career with leaving too early.

Yeah. I wouldn't like him staying on the benches, but his price is going to drop so much if he doesn't leave Bremen in 4 months.

[Btw, leaving for California tomorrow for a week, so I'm not sure how often I'll be on. Hopefully at least once a day, but not as frequently as I have been for a while.]

The thing is, that he will be on a free transfer, if Werder doesn't sell him before his contract ends, which will be June 30th 2011. And it is clear, that Özil doesn't want to renew his contract, although Werder wanted him to do so.

If he wants to go, he has to go. He has to know for himself, what is good for him, I guess and if he thinks, that a change is good for him, he has to do it.
