OI, YOU! Katsurou Yamanaka, Taylor Aburame, and Rayne Heliose!
You three have been given a mission and will be led by Kenshin Kōsei. You are to report to the [ Father Gates ]. If you do not arrive within three days of the of a team members' first post, they are allowed to leave Kiri without you. Don't worry if you get left behind - Inka has a special task for shinobi like you~ heart
Or maybe you should be worried...
OI, YOU! You still have time to get your squad preferences to me as the two other squads have yet to be sent out. If I do not get your information, you will be assigned to a squad but with no rewards! So don't miss out!
ALSO: If you are currently participating in something in RP already, and wish to continue without being called away for a mission, let me know as well! I truly do not want to break up your fun for a mission you may not actually want.
You are to report to the [ Kage's Office ] for a mission immediately.
ALSO: Missions/squads are being staggered out, so make the most of that time until you are called to get in your training! Remember, once you are placed into a squad, you will not be able to pick up any missions unless your squad leader has chosen them - this is to include D-Rank missions as well as I am testing to see if this encourages activity at all!
Please be aware; I will be away for 5days in 2days time. So come harass Inka while you can if needed! Otherwise, I will endeavour to give itty baby posts in response while I am away. I will also be contactable via Discord (PMing me will get better results so feel free to do that).

Earn that TP! There are missions in the Kiri Mission Board that now earn yourself and the village TP! TP can be spent to make village-specific Jutsu & Techniques and they don't take up your regular limit slots. An RPC can only have up to three TP techniques at a time, and they cost TP to learn. To learn more, be sure to read this post.
There will be a call out in the Kiri Discord for TP Jutsu suggestions & a poll in Kiri soon asking for the first technique to be chosen once we have earned enough TP to for Kiri to have its first!
Progress is happening! As some may have noticed, I've been fiddling around with the village, adding in more locations, items, missions, and NPCs. The Halloween event will also be happening soon so I hope you all enjoy it!

Mission Update I am now revoking the Genin requirement to have a Chuunin or higher shinobi assign their mission to them.
Genin are now able to take any and all mission they want, unless the requirements state otherwise.
Instead, I am looking at giving bonuses to shinobi who get together a team to take out on missions. This can be Genin as well. So take a mission with a friend or team and quote BlackFruity at the end to all posts made and I'll add in an extra reward for the team!

『 ≈ 』 The Sero Grows...
Quote:
Halloween Event Begins If you are interested in participating the Kirigakure's 2017 Halloween Event, read the overarching descriptive below and then open the spoiler that has everyone being quoted - and with their particular... predicament.
Enjoy! ~Fruity gaia_kittenstar
Chakra twists like vines up the Sero tree... It doesn't matter if you were not looking at the Sero, positioned within it, or perched on one of the many branches, bridges, stairs, or steps of the mountain-sized tree - if you did not notice everyone else has. Instinct and training means you cannot ignore the schocked gasps and fearful whispers as chakra - bright, white, thrumming with such force you could almost feel it pulsating against you like waves of air being buffeted away - burn on the tree in thick lines. You thought they were thick lines. Closer inspection will reveal that they are complex chains of tiny, detailed fuuinjutsu - overlapping, intertwinning, contradicting, incomprehensible.
The Kage office is locked... Thick vines cover the door - bar a single indent, in the shape of a perfect circle. No matter how quickly you cut, they grow back. The use of chakra is abosrbed. The way to the last known location of Inka is barred.
The canopy spreads and droops - Kirigakure is a prison of branches and its own stone walls... The light of the sky is shunned - only the burning, blinding light of the chakra twisting up the Sero and through its branches give any light to the village now.
Buds grow from the branches, human in size... You can hear great splashes and crashes as the pods fall from various heights into the water and onto man-made islands of the village. If you look up...
If you look up, you might see one falling to land right in front of you...
Read below for your specific 'situation.' If you have not posted recently, or are new, please excuse if there is a blank space. Feel free to PM me on Gaia or Discord and we'll work it out together to see how we can make this Halloween nightmare as fun as I hope it is emotionally scaring engaging! You can do your post in response to the below info anywhere in Kirigakure. Be sure to quote BlackFruity when you do!
HeadlessKoko
The moment you are outside, a seed pod drops, heavy and unweildy in front of you. For a moment, the only movement is dust and grit settling, but then the thick, viscous noise of the pod filled your ears and the sound of foliage rustling, of syrup gurgling matches the rumbling of the pod before it peels itself open - as though to bloom. If you imagined a thing of beauty, or a sight of savagery, its all in the eye of the beholder. From the top tip, pointing skyward, the pod unfurled with the sickness of a diseased fruit - strands of green-tinted, treacle-like liquid laced and broke and beaded as it opened - revealing short, brown hair. Tanned skin. Black robes. You recognise the sharp features, but the eyes are wrong. One is gold; molten honey. Another is red; congealing blood. They weep, but he does not cry. Inka opens his mouth, and speaks;
"You?" He asks, and his features twist into distaste. "My village is in danger and I arrive in front of you?." A wet noise of contempt, a curl of the upperlip, the show of a canine. "A Gennin too filled by her own ego to even realise she oversteps her bounds. You dare make yourself my carer." He hisses and steps out of the pod, slinking to the side, head tilted, the eye-socket filled with weeping red trained on her. "Shall I summon the Anbu to you? Let you become their mother? You think yourself so well trained and knowledgeable, allow me to grant you the hospital itself." He circles you, angry. "Pompus b***h." He spits. "You dare think you help? You dare to think that your actions have done anything but undermine my authority and tarnish my reputation? Do you not think I've suffered enough - that I have to fight off enough that I must now also be ruined by the lack of manners and recognition of place by my own genin?!" He yells, loud and harsh. Rough and broken. "You ignore my orders and demand I see you as being helpful?!" He stops, head tilted away, body facing her, the slow seeping of the red eye having now made a wide river down his neck and into his clothes, elevated in its own thickness. "What excuse do you have in your disrespect?" He hisses.

"Why did I land here, then. I wonder." He speaks to himself, blinks, seems to recall something, and faces you once more. "You, are trained in healing. This incident may cause issues. Do go help them as they require." Even before he's finished speaking, it's apparent his attention has drifted back upwards, unseeing as he appears with those eye sockets filled with with slowly churning liquid.

Inka's head has tilted back slightly, as though contemplating the situation the village has found itself in, on his own location, it isn't clear. "You're behind in your taining," He speaks over your head. "Family matter, I believe. Yes," His words turn soft, lonely. "Yes. Family is so very easy to hurt you, as it is to consume you." The eye sockets simmer and ooze their liquid content like reluctant sap. "Yes..."

He turns his head, giving you a side-on view of the red ooze dribbling out and down a cheekbone. "Honestly, you think I don't have enough work to do? What could I possibly get out a match with Genin when I have meetings? Debriefings, reports, ******** essays all to keep some old, traditionally minded bastards from yanking me into the mud. Why can't you take some missions to help lighten the load in the office?" He grunts, clicks his tongue, speaks to the distance, to some unseen figure; "We've lost so many shinobi - to the UHV. To that damn virus, the mushrooms, the invasion, the sinking. The higher ranks are overworks, while I'm flooded with so many Genin that think learning jutsu and getting into fights is all this ever is..."

"Find shelter. I don't know what this is leading to, but I can't stomach the thought of causing you any more pain than you've been through." A pause, a small curl of a sad, lonely smile and - "Don't become like me. You still have much to hold on to."

He speaks softly, but it doesn't seem to be directed to you, doesn't even seem to be directed at himself as he has turned his head to the side slightly, showing only the eye of molten, melting gold. "So meek and young. You shouldn't be part of this." Moments pass, and the leaking liquid shimmers. "Go find cover. Leave. Hide and let the shinobi forces deal with this. You've already shown yourself to need more experience and confidence - this isn't the time for it. The danger, the risks; too many unknowns for you." As he spoke, again it appeared he wasn't directing the words directly to you but some distant, vague, entity. Barely any of his attention has touched you at all...

You can see the gold leaking from one eye socket, cresting over of a cheekbone. "Is this a punishment? A last means of apology before its too late, perhaps." He speaks, but you feel these word were directly meant for you, but rather to something or someone else. "I hurt you," He appears lost in some intangible bubble. "I have been trying so hard to not be that man those old bastards keep reminding me of. But you pushed and you pulled and I was weak for it. I wanted it. I missed it. That old me. That..." His voice grows steadily soft until it drops off altogether and its obvious his mind has turned inward - or maybe its outward, distant and unreachable. A shudder, deep and rolling, and the head hangs low. "I injured you, in a way beyond flesh. And I know your needs. You're not well." Slowly, as though coming awake, Inka turns his head towards you, both eyes gazing upon you. A quiver of some darker intent, the red rolls and joins the jawline, coating it in mirror image of the gold. "Come take it. You know my heart better than I. Come claim it."

Only the eye-socket filled with molten red regards your presence now. "I need soldiers. Shinobi. People I can trust/." He goes on, a lip curled up in anger. "You? You can't wrap your head around what danger looks like. Nothing more than a child playing pretend. The world isn't sunshine and rainbows, and the second anyone so much as hints otherwise, they become the villian. You're a Gennin." He spits, and the oozing red spits out another dribble to slip down to his chin as though to match. "Yet you act like you can't die. You think that just because this village has been through all the s**t and pain and loss that you can run around without consequence?!" And his feet stamp on the seed pod as he steps forward and out from its depth, facing you with both eyes once more. "That you aren't hurting the people around you by running off into danger, as if you're invincible, when we've already seen to many die. Stop acting as if you're better than them! Insulting them as if their deaths aren't to be taken seriously! That you aren't as fragile..." His head tilts back, the red and gold meeting at his chin, turning amber as they mix and drip, drip, drip down to the ground.

From the top tip, pointing skyward, the pod unfurled with the sickness of a diseased fruit - strands of green-tinted, treacle-like liquid laced and broke and beaded as it opened - revealing short, brown hair. Tanned skin. Black robes. You recognise the sharp features, but the eyes are wrong. One is gold; molten honey. Another is red; congealing blood. They weep, but he does not cry. Inka opens his mouth, and speaks;
"You?" He asks. "I know I failed, and it must send me to you?" He whimpers, head turning as if to hide the pain rippling across his frame, but he can't hide that one gold-filled eye socket, so you see it seep and simmer, glisten and melt down a tan cheek. "I failed - so it reminds me of more?" He isn't asking you, perhaps not even himself. Whoever he is speaking to, it seems not even Inka knows. "Why not just drop me down into the lake, let me sink into the black depths, land right next to the store that still holds that damnable ring-" His voice cracks and his chest jerks, the gold liquid running faster down his face, dripping from his jaw and onto the floor below. "You look too much like him. But you know that - how can you not? Are you playing with me?" He turns his head, a little more towards you, but he just can't quite look you straight on - rather he looks just to the side of you, but you can see a hint of his other eye now, and the thinner trail of red oozing from it. "You think that just because you look like him that you can get away with playing with me like you have? That I wouldn't notice? That I'm too desperate or naive to not realise some young punk," He spits out, and now he is facing you with both eyes, and they seep freely down, down, into his robes, over his chest, dripping from the jawline and onto the ground. "Thinks he can toy with me?!" His shoulder hunch, and he looks ready to launch forward and strike, but instead he hisses; "You think my love wasn't real enough that I'd fall for your cheap imitation of a face? I will never let go of him." His lips curl back into a snarl, and the liquid filled sockets are twisted into a glare. "And certainly not for you."

The moment you are outside, a seed pod drops, heavy and unweildy in front of you. For a moment, the only movement is dust and grit settling, but then the thick, viscous noise of the pod filled your ears and the sound of foliage rustling, of syrup gurgling matches the rumbling of the pod before it peels itself open - as though to bloom. Inka opens his mouth, and speaks;
"You?" He asks, features blank of emotion. "I don't recognise you. But I should? I should. I do." He doesn't blink, even as the liquids ooze from his sockets, over his cheek bones. "Corpse eater. Parasite. Yes. I remember. You are back here? In Kirigakure. Hm." His head tilts back and up, the liquid gliding down tanned cheeks, nearing the sharp corner of his jawline. "I know not this... situation. Or if it can risk interacting with your... situation. Hm." Despite his words, his intent appears unconcerned, nearly disinterested. You could even claim he wasn't even speaking to you in particular but elsewhere. Himself, an invisioned individual. A deity. The Sero canopy. The now obscured sky. Too many possibilities to pin. But the attention wasn't on you, and neither was any concern - for you or your situation.

"You...?" He whispers. "I'm in so much pain... and it must bring me to you...?" He asks, but not. He asks himself, some higher being, some inner turmoil, anything but you. "Have I not suffered enough in my life?" He continues, looking away. A gold eye can still be see - its slow trail glistening as it creeps down his skin. "You remind me... so very much of - of her." His voice breaks and the pulse of emotion seems to pulse out a small, sad, drizzle out of the socket and down, down, so slowly down his cheek and chin. "I want to say her name. I see you. And remember her name. They she'd smile up at me and ask me to read to her. To train with her - even though we both knew she was the prodigy, that she didn't need me..." He stops speaking with a shuddering voice and it looks as though he is about to move, but hesitates, unsure. Reluctant. He steps from the pod, but skirts away from you; avoidant. "You're too painful to see. I hate being around you - the way you bring me pain. I could never describe how deeply it cuts and twists. Why do you smile at me?" He suddenly turns cries. "Why would you smile at me like she used to?! I killed her - and I'm going to kill you, too!" He yells, and the raised lines of resin have trailed down his throat, was soaking the collar of his robes. "I am not your brother - and I never will be."

『 ≈ 』 The Sero Grows...
Branches Become Roots... The branches had reached the wall by the time the first pod had even fallen, creating a living dome of green and brown. But at the walls, the sheer cliff face of stone and reinforcements, the branches continued. Undeterred, they climb down the outter edge of the walls, embossing the sleek surface with their presence, and continuing down, twinning, twisting - digging into the soft earth below, sealing the village shut.
The Unaccosted are Snared As the pods were dropping, the cries of panic quietened. With your attention captured by something 'other,' the soft cries growing distant may not have caught your notice straight away. But looking to anyone without a pod in front of them you see instead vines had suddenly snared them and great, rubbery leaves wrap around - tight, thick, sealing. Whatever fight - blades, jutsu, screaming, that they have put up ends in silence and stillness. The leaves turn hard, turning dark and rough - a shell. A seed pod? If you look between the pod that had dropped from the Sero and the one that has grown around your fellow Kirigakure citizens, you will find many similarities in appearance.
Read below for your specific 'situation' if I missed you out previously! If you have not posted recently, or are new, please excuse if there is a blank space.

Globs of blood and honey shimmer and slip from the eye sockets, pause at the crest of cheek bones, and the dip down, down the tanned cheeks. "Blindly following me..." He speaks, but he isn't talking to you. By his vancant tone you could guess that he isn't even speaking to himself - words were just tumbling out, revealing his thoughts as they develop. "is too dangerous."

『 ≈ 』 The Sero Grows...
The Canopy Calls... To all those holding a strange piece of metal, you feel a sudden pull from it - in the direction of the Sero. It wants you to go there. It wants to go there.
If you give in to the silent request, and begin heading to the Sero, you... begin to see and hear... things.
As you approach the base of the Sero, you are surrounded by the water of the village lake. This is normal. Apart from the cover of tree branches having enclosed the village, and the only light source being from the ant-sized writing of fuuin lacing up the trunk, and up and through the branches of Sero, this would be normal. Then you hear the sound of something fall into the water behind you. If you turn, you will see the water undisturbed - something falls into the water behind you - the water is undisturbed. Something falls into the water behind you. Something small, alive, and it struggles to reach the surface, to breathe air, to make it to safety. That poor child never made it back up.
You never went back for her.
As you climb the hundreds of stairs to reach the canopy, you pass the blocked doors of offices and private shinobi residences. Giant pods fill the walkway, and even block the path in some cases. Many of you know that the pods have encased citizens of Kirigakure. Any- one who tries to strike or damage the pods feels their fuuin brand burn like molten fire. There is still room to climb over or around them to continue on your journey to the canopy. As you near the top, you know the two levels just below the Kage's office floor is reserved for the Oinin and Anbu ranked shinobi. The one door giving access to these levels is open. A splatter of blood shines ruby-red and fresh out of the corner of your eye - but the way is clean and clear. Gold hair, thick and healthy, lies in a clump, flesh attached, in the sand - the way is clean and clear, with only the glowing fuuin and thick vines of the Sero lacing the wooden path. Red and gold. Only the wood and blue glow of fuuin lead the way. Murdered by an Anbu.
You wouldn't have been able to save him even if you made it in time.
Upon reaching the landing to the Kage's office, you see the desks of the many delegates and organisers of the village - nearly all of them with a giant pod where the worker would otherwise be seated. The door to the Godaime's office is covered with thick, thorned vines - except for a circular area at the center. A whisper trails after you as you pass the pods - the room is silent. Do they speak about you or are you imagining things once again? There is no movement in this room.
They have every reason to talk behind your back.

『 ≈ 』 The Sero Grows...
The office opens... As the heavy doors swing open under the pull of vines and chakra, you are met with the apprent source of all the ribbons of fuuin lines brimming and burning with glowing chakra - the Mizukage Godame stands in a fuuin circle of the most intricate of natures to the left hand side of the room. The stream up his body in twists and twines, like the vines than have spewed out and over the village. They appear to be acting as chains, holding him still, and lancing across his cheeks in all directions and into his eyes, where now-dry bloodied tears had dropped from, leaving a rust-coloured path in their wake.
To his cardinal directions, outside of the circle, are a pod each, like points on a compass. One is covered in senbon, though the green taints on the needles' points indicate that the weapons were thrown from inside the pod. Another has a great mass of scar tissue up two of its sides, like a burn wound that went untreated. The third is double the size of normal, but it looks stretched thin, while the fourth appears withered and is wrapped in further foliage of thick leaves and vines. Approaching any of these four pods causes your own fuuin brand to flare in a brief warning. A warning of what is unclear to you at this time. Behind the Kage, further in the room, is another pod - but its open. Inf act, it looked to have never closed in the first place. Stopped mid- motion by some unkown factor.
This was all to the left of the doorwar, in a cleared space - open and free of furniture. Standing directly opposite of the door opening, almost leaning against a glass wall that looked out over the village, was the Mizukage thought dead and lost; Yondame Jack Snipe. He opens his arms to you as you enter the office - and lifts them to the flowers hanging as humble chandeliers from the cieling. Most were a honey-amber, but two were a velvet- deep red, and these dripped with a clear fluid.
"I had thought Inka stronger than this. Desiring my return - to complete my transportation back to this plane, it will cost him his life. I cannot make the final blow." Jack reveals calmly, his eyes gleaming with that watchful, knowing look he always carried.

『 ≈ 』 Village Announcement
Read Or Miss Out Be sure to read all of the following information or you could miss out on rewards or need to know updates and changes.
Please excuse the short notes or lack of detail as I (BlackFruity) only have my mobile to use to make this announcement. Feel free to PM me with any questions regarding this post!
Kiri FAQs and Info Threads Be aware that these threads may be seperated/expanded upon in the coming weeks. Also, read them before you start posting. If neither of these hold the answer(s) you need, PM me (BlackFruity) here or on Discord and I'll answer you then and update the Kiri FAQ and Info Threads accordingly.
Profile Registry Make sure your profile is in the Kiri Registry or you will be denied rewards for events, missions, and more.
Mizukage Hiatus & Promotions Due to being in another state to look after a sick relative, I will be taking a temporary Hiatus. As such, Kerron and Necroplant will be looking after Kiri in my stead! Kerron, who does not have an RPC in Kiri, will be taking over the NPC called Shikasheiru Nara. This a Jounin Shinobi whose official role is to work as liason between the Chuunin Commander and the Jounin Commander, as well evaluator of shinobi applying for Anbu and Oinin positions, as well as shinobi being looked at for promotion to Chuunin or Jounin rank. So, IC, you would view them as a recognisable face and someone you should impress!
Halloween Event Rewards Are being finalised now! Make sure your RPCs name is listed below or you might miss out on your reward! PM me (BlackFruity) here or on the guild Discord if your character's name is not here despite having participated in the event.
In Character Info Following the Halloween Event An official announcement has been released to all Kirigakure citizens:
"The office of the Mizukage would like to thank all residents of Kirigakure for remaining calm during the unannounced test of the village defence system. Updates will continue to be implemented into this system during the coming weeks so the office would like to ask for all citizens to cooperate during this time. Godaime Inka Hizara will be unavailable during this process but all office representatives will be able to address any and all issues, missions, reports, complaints, and more.
In other news, the office would like to encourage all squads for the upcoming evaluations and wish best of luck to all applicants for promotions."
Out of Character Info Following the Halloween Event Inka Hizara had brought in foreign Fuuin experts to aid in an experiment with the Fuuin binding the three-tailed demon, Isobu, into the Sero tree. Something went wrong, the "experts" fled, and Inka was left bound to the Sero, and thus the Sanbi. The two were connected mentally, and thus Inka's intentions, and fears, were conveyed throughout the village via the Sero's defence system and the Demon's power.
The support of his most beloved shinobi bloomed gold flowers, acting as amplifiers that overode the negative thoughts being played upon by Isobu. With this support, Inka easily overcame the demon and ended the twisted version of the village's protection protocol.
When the Godaime was struck by a dark medical technique the twisted Fuuin, that had sprawled throughout the entire village, reacted in an unexpected way. Upon cancelling the Fuuin a backfire occured, seriously injuring the Kage's eyes. An announcement was made, disguising the 23-year-old's sudden absence as being part of a series of 'upgrades.'

『 ≈ 』 Village Announcement
NPC Competition! The rewards for the recently concluded Halloween Event will be up soon - untill then, you can snap extra goodies by participating in this competition!
How to Enter: PM myself (BlackFruity) on Discord (preferred) or on Gaia with the needed info.
What is this for: If you look at the Kiri Registry, you will see two NPCs listed as the sentinel guards for the Father Gates (land) entrance. I would like you to give me ideas for two NPCs to guard the Mother Gates (dock) entrance to Kiri! What's that? There are actually three guards listed? The 'leader' of the guards is never revealled for security reasons. But maybe...
What is Needed: As much, or as little, detail as you want, but I'd like a name, personality, speciality(s), and even background. Pictures help but are not needed! You can submit as many entries as you'd like. I do ask each entry is clearly marked and clearly seperated from any other entry and/or info. The easier it is to read, the happier I'll be, and the better chance you may have. Sad fact of life, guys!
What do you get: I'll actually be looking at your Kiri RPC to hand-select your reward, if chosen. So! Don't be scared to drop hints what you'd like. Coupons and items will also be on the table!
