Cry little sister (thou shall not fall)
Username: Redbud-Tree Name: Asali Name Meaning: Sweet like Honey Personality: Asali is as gentle and good-natured as her name implies. Her naive nature doesn't make her stupid, but it does cause her to believe strongly in the value of lives, and she has a strong desire to help everyone she can come across - all Asali wants if for everyone around her to be happy. Unfortunately, this means she doesn't cope too well with fighting, and is likely to hide behind her sister if simple pleas won't make the argument stop. As long as everyone around her is happy, healthy, and not arguing with anyone else, Asali is perfectly content - but her feelings are easily hurt when someone snubs her, or arguments won't stop, and at those times she tends to become more childish, leaning on and hiding behind her sister more than she really needs to. Future Simbafutaji Rank: Healer - because what better way is there to make everyone happy than by helping them to feel better? Nothing's better than having someone to look after and take care of you when you're hurt or sick!
Prompt Response: The running seemed endless, time blurring together into an endless repetition of painful pawsteps, all-too-brief stops to drink when absolutely necessary, and above all the times they crossed paths with others, desperate to warn them about those horrible storms. Asali really had no idea how long they had been going, or if she, Aanga, and their ragtag group of companions would ever stop.
But even though her paws ached and she was physically more miserable than she could truly remember being in her life, Asali was pleased. Or, she was when her mind wasn't numb from exhaustion and desperation, anyway. She was doing something good; she was helping others! And she'd even made some friends in the process - if she could only get Aanga to lighten up, this trip would lose a great deal of its daunting nature, because she could almost pretend that she was just on a trip to see the countryside and make new friends.
Yes, her paws hurt, her stomach felt empty, and exhaustion kept trying to swallow her mind, make her fall down and be unable to keep going, threatening not only herself but all of her companions and those who she failed to warn... but Asali was absolutely thrilled. She was helping others. The urgency of the situation and her own discomfort just reminded Asali of all the lives that were counting on her and her sister.
Failure wasn't an option; stopping wasn't an option.
And being miserable? That was completely out of the question! How could you be miserable when you were doing something good? It would be silly and just make everyone else unhappy. So Asali smiled for her sister, and launched into a travelling song that she made up on the spot, just to made Aanga laugh.

Dude, its just a rad bromance
Player of the Teal Lion: Zero and Below Player of the Black Lion: magnadearel Name of the Teal Lion: Bahari Kina Name Meaning: Ocean/Sea Depths Name of the Black Lion: Eusi’urefu Name Meaning: Black Depths
Teal Lion's Personality: Kina is nothing but a pure bundle of energy, a true soul with a golden heart. He is not afraid to speak his mind and listen to his heart instead of his head. He is like a bubble that is overflowing with energy and always views the world in such a positive way. He's what you could call overly excited and a bit too determined with every action he does. Eager bursts of energy in every step.
Kina even born of a lowly rank always kept his head high with a smile on his face. He seemed to share this happiness with his brother Eusi’urefu. Eusi has always been there for him even with their differences and in return he will always be by his side. He looks at his brother as his one reason for staying hopeful and to share the smile and laughter with him, even during the darkest times.
Black Lion's Personality: Eusi has an air and arrogant streak to him that comes from being near royalty. He was born better than you, you, and you! It’s in the way he carries his body and holds his head. His upbringing is so ingrained into him, that Eusi doesn’t think about it anymore. He holds himself aloft from others except his brother, Bahari Kina. Suspicion of others is second nature to him. Eusi expects manipulation attempts from others; for his power, for his influence.
The abandonment by his father hurt the young lion deeply. Not handling the separation well, Eusi clammed up. He became a ghostly shadow around the pride. Gloom surrounded him thickly. The only one able to help him deal has been Kina. His brother helped him remain sane and control his temper. Kina is the only one who can safely deflect, without harm, his rages. Eusi is very sweet toward his brother and will do anything to protect him.
Future Simbafutaji Ranks: Eusi- Fighter, Kina- Fighter
Backgrounds: These brothers had two very different starts. Eusi was born to a very high ranked father and a respectable lady mother. His parents were well respected members of a pride and someday it was expected that he would join them. Kina however, was born two weeks after his brother, by the same father, but to a rogue mother. Unwanted by the lioness, she foisted him off onto the father. He was brought into the pride to be raised alongside Eusi, but not in the same class. He was considered a burden to the tribe, a mistake that never should have happened.
Eusi was given anything and everything he ever wanted from the moment of his birth. It simply belonged to him. From an early age he was trained in the ways and traditions of the pride. As he got bigger and older, combat training was added to his list of lessons. The young lion was masterful in learning brutal combat. He took savage joy in defeating any rival. Kina on the other side had to learn from an early age that anything he wanted he had to work hard for. He fought for everything he got and eventually learned to teach himself combat moves by watching others and coming up with his own. He always remained positive on his perspective of how he lived even if his brother lived a different life from him. On the sly, Eusi would give his brother extra stuff he’d gotten and help teach him combat moves.
Late into juvenile-hood, Eusi discovered that his parents had planned his arranged marriage to a high ranked juvenile lioness. He said nothing at first about the marriage and his parents assumed he’d bow to their wishes. When Eusi hit adolescence, he shattered his parent’s dream; telling them he had no desire to breed with the female. With Eusi's betrayal to the pride came the taboo of Kina's actions. He always found the lioness his brother was to marry very beautiful and when his brother turned her down he took his turn. He confessed his love to her one night while she walked alone, even though the classes set them apart. Why should he not have her if his brother didn't even want her? However she did not want him and told her parents and the council about his confession.
The brothers were called up before the council. Eusi had committed a crime by refusing to marry the lioness of his parent’s choosing; worse still it was taboo to be attracted to the same gender. Kina had committed a taboo by trying to court a lioness far above his station and class. The council decreed that Eusi would be banished if he didn’t marry the girl and Kina was here-fore hence banished from the pride.
In a decisive movement, Eusi left with his brother; it was bros before hoes!
Prompt Response: Eusi prowled on a beach, several months after he and his brother left their pride. His brother was nearby as he explored the beach and ocean for the first time. It was strange with the crashing water that tasted of salt, and sand that shifted under his paws. Backing away from the on rushing water the black adolescent noticed something. Footprints in the sand. "Kina! Come here and see this." He called. Who did they belong too?
Kina ran after his brother with an eager look on his face. Rarely did his brother speak so this must have been something big. He rushed over to peer down at the footprints below him in the sand, they were not made by either of them. "Great find Eusi!" he said excitedly "I wonder who's they are?! Maybe we could follow them to find out!" he said with a smile that showed nothing but positive attitude to the mystery that laid in front of them. He was always more then excited to discover upon new things, to him the cup was always half full.
Eusi rumbled low in his throat as he considered his brother’s question. Who’s indeed? They could belong to anybody. By his count there were three of them. Judging by the depths of the marks maybe females, or adolescent males like themselves. Eusi had no idea how they’d be reacted to. Greeted warmly, or chased off? He suppressed a memory from several months back of himself and his brother fleeing their once called pride. It was a devastating toll to the pride in which the events that would happen. But the two stuck it through and remained together.
“They lead that way. Go slow.” He said knowing his brother would be eagerly running if he could. If his brother wanted to see who they belonged to, Eusi would go with him, but be ready for a fight. He started down the trail of paw prints in the sand.
Kina turned in the direction his brother pointed and forged ahead. He wondered who they were about to meet. What were they doing out here? He voiced his question out loud. “Do you think they need help Eusi? Or could they be wanderers?” Kina looked back over his shoulder at his brother. Headless of the ‘go slow’ Eusi requested, he was therefore the first to spot the lionesses. “I see them Eusi!” His voice conveyed his excitement as he rushed toward them. Not even thinking of the events that could happen next.
Left slightly behind by an eager brother, he could only grunt in reply. What if they did need help? Would they help them? Probably. Kina would insist on it. When Kina shouted that he saw them, Eusi came to his senses and dashed to catch up to his brother. As it was he managed to come into sight just in time to see Kina approach three lionesses. The dark lion repaired himself for a fight.
In short order Kina came trotting up to his brother who’d kept his distance from the lionesses. “Eusi! These lionesses speak of a storm coming, they want to send warnings to the prides near by...”He said with a grin that showed he had a idea of what they should do next..
“You aren’t thinking what I think you’re thinking, are you?” He sounded resigned as if he already knew the answer. His brother was always keen for something new, one to always go with what his heart says, and not always his mind.
“Yup! Eusi it’ll be great! There will be so many to meet as we warn prides, and think of the adventures of running before a storm!” His eyes danced with delight, Kina knew his brother would cave to him. He always did, for the very thought of them being separated brought demise to both Eusi and Kina. They were brothers till the end.
