Kamau took a seat not too far from where Gali laid down ont he river. He too tried to make himself look as relaxed and friendly as possible. He had opened his mouth to speak and then heard something in the distance, it was the voice of a female and she was yelling about not hurting a cub. "Come on." He said to Gali and took off at a run down the stream to see what was going on. Kamau wasn't entirely sure if Gali was right behind him or not but if a cub was in trouble now was not the time to hesitate.
He came upon the sight of a large male with a paw raised towards a cub. Maua, the lioness that had helped him join the pride was the one who had yelled. "Hey!" He yelled at the male trying to keep his attention off of Maua and the cub. "What are you doing?" He wasn't apt at fighting, but he would do his best if needed to protect the cub, Maua and the female that was traveling with her as well as Gali.

Velveteen Angel Parisette broke off her lullaby when them male (Kunstig) stopped harmonizing with her, and she turned to look when he spoke to the bushes. He must of heard something, she realised, and stepped forward, closer to him, so as to peer into the bushes as well.
"Did you hear something?" She asked, keeping her voice light, and a smile on her face - in case any cubs were nearby and could see them. It always helped to project a happy imagine, she mused to herself.
"Little ones?" She called softly, adding to his calls, and waited to see if the bushes would yield anything to the trio. It was nice to have company when she was searching. Not only would today have - hopefully - returned some cubs to the land of the not-creepy, she would have also made two friends! Even if the female did not speak much, she was still friendly when she did so. She wondered what their ranks were, since they were new members, but did not think it polite to ask. Ranks weren't important. What was important, was helping to search, and perhaps making friends.
The horrified cub didn't know what to make of the raised paw. Only when another lion came running over, raging about not hurting a cub, did she realized what was going on. Frightened, the cub took off into the bushes, screaming as it ran away.
Soon enough all the running soon had her ramming into Parisette's front legs.

"It may simply take a little more time." Raziela said with a sigh, eyeing Pan as he shifted up and down the streambed, poking his nose into any and all crevices, no matter how likely it was that there might be a cub there, covering all his bases indiscriminately. At least he was pouring his heart into the task at hand.
Her attention snapped back to her mother as Maua's voice suddenly grew sharp, and her head turned until her gaze reached the object of her mother's orders. The lion stood with a paw half-raised, and, from where they were and with Maua's prejudices, it certainly seemed feasible that... Raziela shook her head. No, nobody could hurt an innocent cub like that!
WIthout quite realizing what she was doing, she abandoned Pan to his search and sprang after Maua.

Kijembe eyed Maua and Kamau, his eyes darkening thoughtfully. He didn't move his paw, not that he had been before anyway, just letting them fret about him hurting a cub. He made no motion to do so, and had only been putting his paw down from a step as far as he knew. But if they thought he was a danger to this cub, maybe he was.
He wasn't unfamiliar with that kind of a reputation at this point.
The cub screamed, though, and took off, leaving Kijembe to watch where it had been, then look back at the other two lions. Only now did he put his paw down, eyes shifting from one to the other slowly. He made to walk away from them, in time for a third lion to arrive on the scene.
He sighed, shaking his head and padding away from them casually, coldly, not offering a word or an explanation.

Parisette had been looking in the bushes with her new friend when she heard a terrifying - and terrified - scream, and her head jerked up, feeling a little cub run into her legs. She gasped, her leg sore from the hit but she made no motion of it. "Little one!" She said quickly, but did not try to grab at her, fearing that she would startle her more. "It's okay, little one, you're safe here!" She tried to reassure, making no move to grab at her, or try to soothe her, only talking to her gently.
Grabbing a frighten cub was never a good idea! Getting a good look at her, Parisette was surprised to find that she was the same age as her cubs. Oh, how sad, lost at her age! She must be so afraid.
"No one will hurt you here."

Maua glared at the ugly black lion with his creepy attitude for a few moments before she took off after the cub - she fully intended to snatch the creature up off the ground and claim it as her own - but of course it had to run smack into Parisette..and even though the blue lion wasn't a nobe she was the Kings daughter and Maua couldn't very well steal a cub out from under the kings daughter now could she?
Skidding to a panting stop she put a relieved look on her face "Oh thank goodness! I was so worried when the little cub ran off from that brute..but I see it's found someone to keep her safe"

Raziela hurried after Maua, more concerned for the cub than anything. The scream she had let off had said volumes about her current state, and she hoped she hadn't been too deeply traumatized.
The dark lioness relaxed as she caught sight of the green cub, now safe in Parisette's company. The blue lioness was reassuring her, keeping the situation calm. It was good.
"That must not have been easy for her," Raziela commented with a small shake of her head. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Pan trotting up. He had caught onto the drama that had transpired, and had come both to keep the company and to make sure the cub was safe.

The raised voices also caught Gali's attention, and she instinctively jumped to her feet.
Gali hesitated, looking back at the stream and the surrounding area. What if another cub, lost and panicked, came by while they were all off saving one? Gali hesitated another moment, then headed forward. She couldn't leave Kamau alone. Or her mother, for that matter.
She made it half-way to the group before she stopped, observing the situation from a distance. Her mother and Kamau verses one of the queen's guards. That couldn't be a good situation. Her eyes pierced through them all, sharply taking in their intentions and the scene before a cub closer to the color of the foliage around her than any lion Gali had seen broke free of the group. She watched the cub run headlong into the forelegs of one of the king's daughters and observed the pair for a long moment. There was no trouble there.
Her eyes turned back to the trio and after a moment of consideration her gaze locked on Kijambe, the apparent perpetrator of this whole situation. The stare she directed at him returned his unnerving cold tenfold and saw clean through him to boot.

Kijembe sat, swinging his tail behind him. He watched the others, his eyes coming to fall on Gali. He saw her staring at him, his expression not changing as he watched her unnervingly in return. He didn't seem to mind her looking 'through him', blinking slowly and keeping his eyes on her.
Like she had been the one to do something wrong.

Mot'e was a little bit startled when she heard a voice, and for an instant was hopeful until she realized it was the voice of an adult, and upon turning around, saw it was the shape of one, too. She recognized the pink lioness as a member of the pride, Melda, though she didn't know her personally. She shuffled her feet and thought of how she should respond.
"Uhm, ah, yes, I guess." She didn't want to admit it, but if she said no, she'd be horrible! "Yes. I was just thinking about finding some food to try to lure them out." Her eyebrows were furrowed and she tilted her head. Maybe it'd be good to have some input from someone else, to see if her idea was any good or not.
Ugh... What if they weren't old enough to eat meat? Then what would she do!?

Kamau stood watching the male for a few moments and then the cub took off, running to another female off in the distance. The cub was now safe but he kept his gaze on the male, but then the male walked off. He made a mental note to keep his eyes out for that lion in the future. After looking over as Maua, the cub and the female it had run to conversed and checked on the cub Kamau turned around to see Gali off in the distance watching the situation. He cast one last look towards the cub and then padded towards Gali. "She is safe now." Kamau said when he was closer to her. "I don't trust that male though." He could not hide his dislike the of the strange male, though he probably should have.
After giving his head a shake he looked out around them. "Well, that's one down, we should continue to look for more." And keep an eye out for that male as well, he added mentally. Slowly he started to walk, along the stream back the way he had come from when he heard the yelling. Then as he looked back he noticed Kijembe watching Gali, that cause his stomach to do an uncertain flip. "Let's go." He made sure to place himself between the male and Gali even though they were far away from him, he would protect Gali if needed.

nessiaing Hinekiri looked all around her but was unable to see the cub that her new friend has seen. She frowned she was torn between wanting to chase after the cub that Beatrix may have seen or exploring this den further. "Are you sure? I don't see anything." Hinekiri wasn't sure if her eyes were now just playing trick on her, perhaps the fairies were out and about having fun.
"I think we should look in this den. I was left alone when I was a small cub once and I hid in a den, it felt safe compared to bein out in the open. I think perhaps a cub would have liked to hid in here." Hinekiri told the other lioness only the bare minimum of hwaat she had to to make her point, now wasn't the time to go into her long sad life story. Instead the lioness beant her bright head into the den hole waiting for her eyes to adjust. "Hello there, is anyone in?" she called in a small soft voice.
"I'm here to help." she slowly lowered her self into the den not wanting to scare anyone who might be inside. "The forest... it must have been playing tricks on me," Beatrix said hesitantly, though she was certain she had seen a cub. She dismissed the thoughts from her mind quickly and focused her attentions back on Hinekiri and the den she had found. What the fellow lioness said made sense, like with Beatrix's theory concerning the brush, if there was a cub to be found, certainly it would hide in an actual den.
"Let us check, than, Miss Hinekiri," She said with a pleasant smile as Hinekiri entered first. With the two of them they would have to proceed cautiously. Not that an abandoned cub would view two pleasant and soft speaking women as a threat, but they would no doubt still be nervous around the pair.
"Hello? Is there anyone down here? We've come to help you," Beatrix said quietly, following after Hinekiri. She began to hum, hoping that a soothing melody might entice the cub out, "I see the stars and the stars see me, they come from above to help guide me. Back to my home so far, far away. Hoping that I will no longer stray."

Parisette was surprised when the cub did not panic and run away from her, but rather stayed close to her side, especially when more people burst through the foliage. Parisette smiled at the females, both pleased amazed at the care they were showing.
"She seemed very afraid, what happened?" Parisette asked, worriedly gazing at the shaking juvenile. Oh, she was so much like Parisette's own babies, how terrible it was for her to be so afraid. "Did someone frighten her?" She had heard the female say brute and frowned. Had someone tried to attack the little thing? How horrible! She'd have to tell her father, if something like that had happened. Who would try to attack a scared cub?

There was something wrong there. Gali had been told she could be unnerving or irritating without meaning to be. Kijembe reflected that back at her, and he added a sense of wrong to it. Cold. It wasn't a pleasant sensation, but it was one Gali bore with her usual calm. Not every lion in their pride was kind or stable. Kijembe didn't appear to be either. How had he become a guard so close to their leaders?
Kamau's voice startled her out of turning the problem over in her head. She gazed at Kijembe a second more, this time more in consideration, and then turned away only far enough for her to look at Kamau. She didn't remember him placing himself between them, but his anxiety and the sharpness of his request emphasized where he was standing. Had he been trying to get her attention? That blank look remained for a moment, before she smiled slightly at him. He was concerned. For her? It seemed that way.
"All right." She turned to go back towards the stream so that Kamau could relax. "I hope we didn't miss saving one of the other cubs while we were here. It would be a shame for one of them to move in to the deeper parts of the forest while we were distracted here."
She couldn't help it. Gali looked back at Kijembe, just once, to give him a quick sweep with her eyes before she turned back to where she was walking. There was another issue to address, although it was a much lesser one. "When did you meet my mother?"

Maua huffed slightly as the other lion asked what had happened "That black beast whose been wandering about starring at everyone - why I came across him standing over her with his paw raised, he's never had a kind look on his face..naturally I assumed the worst and ran to protect the cub, thankfully the poor frightened young one managed to take the distraction and run" Maua reported dutifully.
Glancing over her shoulder as though expecting to see the hulking beast coming from the shadows behind her and Raziela before looking back to Parisette. "But as this child has found safety I expect we should be moving on to look for the others" She stated with a concerned tone in her voice.
She had noted Gali watching from a distance but she was being escorted by that polite lion Maua had helped into the pride not so long ago and surely he would keep an eye on her.
