Morty gave a small chuckle as he watched the point blank Will-o-Wisp blast in to the Dusknoir. "Well then, time for a real adventure in strange habits. Release and Confuse Ray!" Morty shouted, watching as his Dusknoir threw the Houndoom back a short amount before blasting the Fire type with a point blank beam of disorienting light. If physical strength was out with a burn, it was time for creative control to take over.

Edgar was dazzled by the Confuse Ray as the bright flash of light went off, causing the canine to stumble around in confusion. "Confuse Ray? I hardly call that an adventure around these parts, what with all these Stantler..." Sub said with a grumble, he hated Stantler growing up.
"Edgar, don't know how much good it will do but...shake it off and use Flamethrower! Make it really feel the burn!" Sub commanded, hoping his dog would fight through the confusion.
(1, Edgar fires off the attack. 2, it trips over and backfires.)

The Flamethrower would engulf the Dusknoir without pause, forcing Morty to quickly consider what his exact method was going to achieve now. Best to try and throw off his opponent a bit with this needed thought. "Sub, your local is showing. Are you certain you don't wish to make this about your reputation?" That was all the time he needed. He had an idea of something his Dusknoir could do, but it was a bit of a gamble on his end. "Dusknoir! Brick Break!" Carefully enunciating the command, he watched as the Dusknoir flashed out of the Flamethrower before attempting to deliver a pointed chop to the Houndoom's neck.

That wasn't good, they were going to have to think fast and hope with all their might if they wanted to survive this next blow. "Feint Attack!" Sub ordered.
The Houndoom began to rush towards the Dusknoir head on, snarling all the while as it attempted to fight through the confusion. If successful the dog would disappear in a flash and maneuver around the Dusknoir, hopefully avoiding the blow, and then biting down on its arm with jaws filled with Dark chi. If not, Edgar would not be battling for much longer.
(1, Edgar succeeds. 2, he fails, trips, and is hit by the Brick Break.)

Dusknoir would be sent in another fit of pains as the Feint Attack allowed the Houndoom to slip past its efforts to assail the Houndoom. Struggling to get the Houndoom free as pain rushed through its mind, the Dusknoir felt itself fading in and out from the sensation. Bringing up its free arm and attempting to channel another Brick Break, the Dusknoir could feel itself slipping away. Would it actually be able to land the attack? (1 for yes, 2 for no)

Sub just smiled as the Dusknoir attempted to conjure up a Brick Break but in the end succumbed to its injuries before it could do so, the burn taking hold. "Looks like fortune favors the bold once again." He said with a laugh as he patted the dog on his head as it came to its side, the canine taking a little break while it could to shake off the confusion. "So what's next? Got anything local to show me?"

Morty simply nods in response before grabbing a Pokeball. "Local flavor it is. But remember, this is you own choice." He muttered, casually throwing the Pokeball and watching as a Focus Blast exploded out from the Gengar he had released. Time to fetch, little doggie.

Well they didn't see that coming so soon. Poor Edgar didn't see the attacking coming before it was too late, the Focus Blast slamming into it and sending it flying off, almost into the gym's bottomless pit, his trainer recalling him before that happened.
"Very nice." Sub complimented the man as he pocked Edgar's Pokeball. "Going straight for your signature. I would use mine but I like to save the big reveal for last. So instead..." With that he tossed another Dusk Ball onto the field, the device popping open to reveal a stone which would soon give birth to its prisoner, Griswald.
"Like my ghost? I hope so. Griswald, use Omnious Wind!" Sub commanded. The Forbidden Pokemon would begin to rotate its ghoulish form like a fan as it conjured up an otherworldly gust, attempting to sweep the Gengar up in it.
(1, all of Griswald's stats go up by one.)

"Well, you said it yourself. Fortune favors the bold." Morty shot back with, watching as the Spiritomb appeared. Hmm, intriguing. Maybe he could ask where Sub obtained such a specimen. Well, the distraction provided it ample opportunity for a Ominous Wind to burn across the Gengar's body. Snapping back to reality, Morty ordered, "Shadow Ball!" The ball of ghastly energy would form and be fired off in the blink of an eye, aimed to slam into the Spiritomb.

"Try better! Dark Pulse!" Sub smirked. Griswald would respond to the command by unleashing from its jagged maw a stream of rings made up of Dark chi and malicious thoughts, and Griswald certainly had plenty of both. The Dark Pulse would meet with the Shadow Ball, causing the ball to shatter and a portion of the rings continuing towards the Gengar. The remains of the Shadow Ball however would rain down on Griswald, the foreign ghost chi harming it.

"Well then. Let us try something a little strange. Gengar, Sucker Punch." Morty gave a small smile as his Gengar faded into the ground, allowing the Dark Pulse to pass harmlessly overhead. The small pool of shadows would quickly dart across the battlefield before reconstituting into its original form. Swinging a fist coated in darkness at the Spiritomb, Morty would simply watch and wait for what creative solution Sub might have next.

Sub almost cackled, he was way too happy about this. Griswold responded to the command with a laugh of his own as one of its green orbs lefts its 'body' and merged its self with the Gengar as said ghost punched the Spiritomb. Said Gengar would discover that even if it wanted to it couldn't use Sucker Punch again, let alone a few other moves that the two shared knowledge of.

Morty would barely pause a second before ordering, "Shadow Ball. Point blank." The Gengar was quick to build up the energy for the attack before discharging it directly at the Spiritomb right in front of it. Seemed that Sub's glee may have been a little premature.

Sub just smiled as he watched the Gengar conjure nothing, oh this is fun. "Shadow Ball? Really? As if I wouldn't teach my ghost the most common of ghost moves. Show him a real Shadow Ball." The man said in a rather dismissive voice. With a cackle of joy the Spiritomb would begin to rotate again as it summoned forth a nasty ball of shadows and fired it at the Gengar. Morty would need to be more sharp and think of something he knows that evil spirit can't use. But seriously, Shadow Ball?

Morty quirked an eyebrow as he saw the Spiritomb halt the Shadow Ball he had commanded. So Sub wanted to play that way. Fine. "Reflect Type. Lets even the battlefield." He commanded, watching as his Gengar gave an imaginary snap of its fingers before a slight shimmer rolled over its body. When the Shadow Ball impacted, it would still stagger the Pokemon but it stood its ground to an extent that would not seem normal. "Now then. Lets try this again." Morty intoned, giving a come forward motion with his fingers.
