Personality: In many ways, Celebrimbor (CC) never matured fully. Perhaps due to his personality, or his lack of a mother in childhood, or both, CC is in many ways more of a foal mentally than an adult. He retained much of his crippling shyness when meeting strangers (especially female ones), and is prone to losing focus during a conversation if something should catch his attention. Sometimes this shift in attention is due to CC simply remembering an interesting fact and innocently wanting to share it, like, "I heard that the moon isn't actually alive--it's just a big, dead rock. /hopeful staring/ .... /swallows and looks nervous at lack of conversation partner's enthusiasm/ .... /fidgets/" He is also prone to doing childish things that many might raise an eyebrow to, such as keeping frogs warm and protected from a storm by holding them in his mouth. (He means well...) While many might find his company to be tedious, there are those who may find it endearing. Unfortunately for CC, his interactions with the latter have been few, causing him to be even more withdrawn and hesitant around strangers as he grew up.
What he lacks in the conversation department, he makes up for fully with loyalty and love. Once you've gained his trust and friendship, CC will go above and beyond to prove himself a worthy friend. He can be extremely talkative to those he knows well, but never to the point of self-absorption. He never forgets about his friends' potential needs and may overload them with questions and concern from time to time.
Since reaching adulthood, CC left his family herd in order to find his birth mother. What he doesn't know, however, is that he never had a birth mother due to being born of the Trickster Spirits' whims. He does eventually find his "mother", though--a dark, maternal mare who takes CC in as her own...for better or worse.
