Dwayne groaned when Alison revealed herself and threw the knife hidden by his heel away as well. "Parley" He announced. Brandon looked at him and then at Alison then shrugged. "Just keep kneeling there." Once upon a time Brandon would have put his gun away at this point but he had made the mistake of underestimating idiots in the past and now he erred on the side of caution when dealing with the unpredictable maniacs. He did lower his gun slightly though. "The first aid room? You mean the sick bay? It's down four floors on the same level as the engine room, god knows why? Perhaps the smell of oil helps engineers get back into the game. The whole ships designed stupidly, they put those prisoners down near the cargo lift and didn't bother to disable it." Brandon had to ask. "Cargo lift?" Dwayne's rambling switched tracks and he started to explain how if the prisoners would have taken a left when they had gone straight they would have come to a huge cargo lift that led straight to the deck and the pirates. "Are you serious?! We could have just gone left and been outside by now?" He looked at Alison and cursed. Dwayne stopped talking about cargo lifts and prisoners and instead launched a fireball at his feet, propelling him backwards and right out of the door. There was a slight pause as the man landed and fired off a few weaker blasts towards them. Brandon took the opportunity to run and dive behind the desk for cover or risk immolation. As he poked his head and gun up he saw Dwayne charging a huge fireball with the hand he wasn't using to keep them distracted. "Nobody takes Dwayne Pipes hostage and lives to talk about it." The guard tossed the oversized ball of flames into the room which seemed to float to the ground rather than fall. For a second, silence, then the ball detonated with the power of a grenade and Brandon felt the desk shudder with the force of it.

"I want this goddamn collar off my neck now are you going to help with that or am I going to have to shoot you somewhere that will never heal right?" Marcus asked as he lowered his aim to the wounded man's crotch. Marcus gestured behind his back for Liv to look around the room for anything useful. He could play the menace and keep the wounded doctor from surprising them while Liv did her search. Without his speed, Marcus was a more effective brute than finder. While Liv did what she did, Marcus waited to see what the man said about the collars. Did he honestly expect the man to know? No. Was the going to save him? No.

Alison Valentine

Alison leaped back. Lucky Dwayne seemed more interested in escaping than killing them, or she would be eating fireball right now. "Are you kidding me?" She shirked in disbelief. "You have powers?!" Seeing as her leap back was more out of shock than finding cover, Alison quickly scrambled to take a position against the wall next to the door. Or the hole where the door used to be since Dwayne had blown it clear off the hinges. She was safe from the fire balls, or so she thought, though it wasn't exactly an ideal position to be shooting back. Back to the wall, frantically she looked around the room until she saw Brandon huddled behind the desk.

"Nobody takes Dwayne Pipes hostage and lives to talk about it." Even amongst the chaos, Alison let out a snort. "Dwayne Pipes?" She repeated, cracking up. Turned out she was wrong. His parents knew exactly what kind of person their son was. Even his fireballs were a failure, she thought as she watched it slowly float to the ground. Then the explosion went off. Her head slammed against the wall, while the air was squished from her lungs from the sudden force. Then Alison sunk to the floor, momentarily blacking out. "What happened?" She asked a few seconds later, trying to blink the stars out of her vision. She remembered Dwayne Pipes and then waking up on the floor.

The male quickly put both hands over his crotch, deciding that was more important than stopping himself from bleeding out. "No!" A less than masculine sounding squeak of desperation came out. "I don't know anything, Jesus Christ man. I thought this was just a cargo ship."

Oliva rolled her eyes at the exchange but flipped the safety on her gun, and put it in her pocket. Not the best gun safety practice, but she didn't exactly have time to grab a holster. Keeping an eye on the hall was probably smarter, but she just wanted off this cursed boat as fast as possible. "Where is Brandon when you need him?" She grumbled under her breath as she searched through the cabinets, looking for something labelled chloroform or anesthetic. She had no idea what drugs were anesthetics and could only hope it said right on the bottle. Another explosion vibrated the walls of the room. Normally Liv would have ignored it, with all the fighting and chaos going on. "That sounded a lot closer than the others." She commented shifting through bottles. Diazepam. She knew that one...unfortunately. She shuddered at the repressed memory of her time in the lab bubbling to the surface. Opening a draw, she grabbed a pack of syringes. "Let's go."

It was fortunate that both Brandon and Alison had taken cover behind the desk as besides that and the hat rack in the corner, nothing else remained standing, the bed was pushed up against the wall and the cabinets has collapsed in on themselves and everything was burning. Brandon woke with a groan and pushed himself up, then over and tried again. He couldn't hear for all the ringing but as his eyes came into focus he saw the flames. He forced himself up and heard something to his left, Alison had spoken but he could only guess as to what she had said. "FIRE!" He hoped was a good enough response. The doorway was clear, that is to say Dwayne wasn't standing in it gloating as Brandon would have expected. Perhaps the explosion was bigger than they all had thought it was going to be, surely no sane man would have unleashed it on a boat if they had known. Then again, he thought as he staggered to his feet and turned to help Alison, he had been insane enough to keep a name like Dwayne Pipes. "LET'S GO!" He shouted unintentionally and motioned to the door. He was barely a doctor but it didn't take one to know that standing in fire and breathing in smoke wasn't a good idea. He walked to the door and practically fell out of it. Again, Dwayne was nowhere to be seen, but a trail of blood leading away from the door indicated that he had probably injured himself in the blast or that one of them had caught him with crossfire.

"I don't believe you." And without hesitation, Marcus raised his aim a little and put two shots into the man's chest. Then he flipped the safety on his gun and shoved it in the back of his waistband before heading over to where Olivia was going through the medications. Marcus gave the bottles a once over but didn't say anything about them once Olivia decided they were ready to go. "I've been waiting for you." Marcus commented as he followed Olivia out of the room.

"If you didn't believe him, why did you kill him?" Olivia asked. He had a few more minutes to interrogate the guy while she tried to find the sedative, instead of looking over her shoulder. Liv made it only a few steps down the hall before the fire suppression sprinklers activated, proving Olivia likely right about the explosion. At the very least there was a fire somewhere on this deck of the ship. Gun in one hand - she could only hope the water hadn't ruined it - Diazepam and syringes in the other, Liv cautiously jogged down to the intersection where the two groups had split. It wasn't hard to notice the blasted outdoor, complete with scorch marks and smoke billowing out into the hall. Or Brandon stumbling out of the room on shaky legs. "What happened?" She called as she ran towards the carnage.

"FIRE!" Though she could tell Brandon was shouting, the word was muffled and hardly audible over the ringing in her ears. Alison struggled to her feet, taking a few attempts before managing to get upright. It turned out walking was difficult when you were seeing double. Or maybe the explosion had messed up something in her inner ear. The end result was Alice had to use the wall to keep herself upright, and took the long way around to the door. "NOW WHAT?" She shouted at Brandon. Staying here seemed like a bad idea.

Brandon had taken a more direct approach to the door and was stood in the corridor bracing himself up against the wall. He looked back into the former captains cabin, as the inferno consumed the desk and then reached forwards and pulled Alison out of the room as she seemed to be having trouble. He motioned down the corridor and slid along the wall until he was out of the smoke. He fell onto his knees and coughed up what felt like a lung before noticing Liv's shoes. He spat up something black, pushed his body back and then stood up, he didn't like her to see him in pain. It was his pride showing it's face again, it led him to make bad decisions like not coughing out more soot and pursuing maniacs. "Here!" He purposely whispered, acutely aware that he had been shouting and handed the captains key card to Liv before stumbling past her to hug the wall and count his limbs. "Did you see a guy run past?" He asked in a loud whisper, it was havoc on his throat but it was better than yelling loudly while inside a ship filled with potentially powered guards. Now he'd seen one he wasn't going to rule them out. Probably didn't bode well for the pirates either but their odds were stacked against them from the start. "He'll be headed towards his boss." He made an effort to stand, got his balance and then went to check on Alison. "You better get after him, we'll catch up." The plan stood to be ruined if the officer made it back to his commander.

"I have enough enemies." Marcus said cryptically to justify shooting the man. He wasn't going to take any more chances with mercy. He was tired of being kidnapped. It was time to start thinning the herd of his enemies. When the explosion sounded off, Marcus followed Olivia to the source and found Brandon lumbering out with Alison. The other three spoke while Marcus looked around for the man Brandon had asked about. He and Olivia hadn't seen anyone on their way to the fire but that didn't mean someone hadn't run. If he had his speed, Marcus would have searched the whole ship in a few moments but he didn't have his speed. Fortunately he had decent eyes. "Blood trail, lets go." And Marcus went to follow the blood to its source.

That didn't seem good, Olivia thought to herself after Brandon coughed up some black sludge. She'd been around Brandon enough to know he didn't want her help up. She wouldn't have wanted his help had their positions been reversed. She shook her head when he asked if they saw a guy run past. Which logically meant he went the opposite way they had come from. Leaving an injured Brandon and Alison alone wasn't ideal. They'd all been kidnapped together. Despite not knowing Allison that made them commands right? They didn't have any other options though.

"We'll have to move quickly." Olivia pointed out. Already the water from the sprinklers was washing away the blood. She began jogging in the opposite direction they had come from. Pale pink watered-down blood swirled towards the drains on the ship. The pair followed the thin stream towards an intersection. After a moment of looking around, they would spot a bearly visible wisp of pink. Hopefully, that was Dwayne's blood. With a shrug, as if to say it was their best guess, Olivia started jogging in that direction. However, the last traces of blood were quickly gone. Olivia paused, looking around in vain. "Now what?" She asked.

Near Olivia was a door.
If Marcus opened it up on a whim, he would find a stairwell. Luckily, being a ship the steps were designed to have grip when wet. If he looked up, he would see a male in a guard's outfit legging it up the stairs, a couple of stories above them.

With Brandon's aid, Alison made it out of the room, and away from the smoke billowing out. She leaned against a wall, and then slid down to sit on the floor, all while coughing. At least everything stopped being double after a few moments of sitting. Her ears were still ringing though, as she watched Marcus and Olivia runoff in a sort of silent movie. Explosions in confined spaces were not great she decided, as she stuck a finger in her ear as if that might somehow clear the ringing. "I can't believe we got messed up by a guy names Dwayne Pipes." She wheezed.

Brandon massaged his chest as they sat in the wet, he was convinced one of his ribs was broken although it might have also been very bruised. As a pseudo doctor his medical advice to himself was to take pain pills, get a couple hours rest and then push that dork off the ship, after wrapping his feet with an anchor, if possible. "Would you have preferred someone called Axel Steel?" He asked as he stood, he could hear at a somewhat consistent level now even if he was talking slightly louder than normal. "Or Ghost Zero, spelt with a zero as the oh. He'd fling you a business card before he killed you." Ghost Zero in his mind quickly took on his custom made armour and spoke with a voice changer like he did. He wouldn't admit it, but he wanted to be a cool bounty hunter with dual pistols or a shotgun called Black Eagle and show up on a motorbike with flaming tires. Sadly reality didn't match the man and he was more of a depressant than the life of the party that Ghost Zero would surely be. A large problem was that he himself just wasn't that interesting and people tended to overlook him, or worse, actively ignore him. He pushed the dream that was Ghost Zero or Killer Ghost or Specter, or whatever the name of the week was aside and looked at her. "Are you ready to go? I think the captain guy is probably close, I'm going to be honest I wasn't paying attention to the plan. You have to understand, my feet were really cold." Speaking of, he was glad he's gotten the socks but not so much they had sat under a sprinkler. "Let me just check I have it right, were going to pretend to be guards and then inject the captain with something that induces sleep? At which point he will immediately pass out and we, still in disguise, will get his remote off him and free ourselves." That sounded insane, he'd probably got it wrong.

The blood trail thinning was always a bad sign for the people following it. Either their target was a healer or they'd patched themselves up. Most blood trails that didn't fade ended with a body. Olivia and Marcus reached the end of the line, having followed the trail as quickly as they could, and she posed a question. "We keep looking." Marcus decided, moving passed Olivia to the door behind her. It wasn't a whim so much as common sense. There were few places to go and they'd have to look everywhere eventually so he started with the door closest to them.

He heard the man running up the stairs before he saw him and when he saw him, Marcus tapped Olivia. He pointed up the stairs but didn't open fire... yet. Then he took off, carefully, in pursuit.

"Either of those would have been much better." Alison answered. At least Axel Steel and Ghost Zer0 put some effort into their identities. Dwayne Pipes on the other hand. He should be working as a plumber. "Is the business card black with blue lightning?" It was one of those things people thought were cool but became cringy mostly due to the type of people who use them. "You should have probably kept your shoes." Alison gave a wheezy laugh. Brandon needed to work on his malicious compliance. Using the wall, Alice slowly got her feet. There were only one and a half Brandon's at the moment...that was good enough to walk right? "I'm pretty sure you were the one who suggested injecting him with something. But yeah, that's more or less it." She answered while starting to head down the hallway in the same direction Marcus and Liv ran.
