Freth finished looking over the Tyrogue. "Well, nothing too major." She said to Tyrogue. "Hopefully we can avoid anything super severe. Hopefully we can avoid any more Wishiwashi. I doubt you'll be able to fight that for the time being unless we maybe catch one out alone. I doubt it though. If its anything like Tynamo or the Unown, then we'd probably be in severe trouble."
"Ty-rooogue rogue tyrogue."
"I don't worry too much." Freth said, huffing. "I say I worry just right. Especially when it comes to the safety of my Pokemon." She said, poking at Tyrogue's forehead.
"Rogue." Tyrogue ended up rubbing his forehead.
"You do have your limits you know. But we're working on getting them farther beyond than now. Its not going to be an overnight thing. Now come on. We probably don't have too much longer in this safari so we need to make every second count, alright?" Tyrogue got back up and started to follow Freth once more.
After some time around the water's edge, Freth looked back towards where some of the machinery was at on the upper portions of the reactor area and figured it was probably high time to take a look there and hope it wasn't an electric Pokemon gang-bang. Before she made the march upwards upon a set of stairs close by, Tyrogue noticed something then grabbed Freth by her jeans, giving it a tug. "Tyrogue."
"What is it?"
"Rogue." Tyrogue said, pointing towards a Pokemon. It was white and blue in color, and carrying what seemed to be a shell of some kind...scraping it across a ruined machine as if he was trying to cut it...to no avail. "That's...an Oshawott..." Freth said, staring in confusion. "Apparently trying to use Razor Shell too. Someone got dreams of granduer as far as strength is concerned. Hmm..." Freth then looked down at Tyrogue then had a bit of an idea. Maybe...
"Hey Tyrogue, how about we get a sparring partner for you for the road."
"Rogue?"
"Let's pick a fight with this one."
Tyrogue and Freth made their way over towards the Oshawott and as soon as they got close, the Oshawott got rather defensive, readying its shell in case they made a move. "Alright Tyrogue, how about it?"
"Tyrogue." The Tyrogue said, once again cracking its knuckles. "Tyrogue rogue!" The Tyrogue then spoke up, challenging the Oshawott. The Oshawott set its shell down on its stomach and got ready for battle. After a second, the Oshawott blazed down the water's edge with extreme speed, ramming into Tyrogue. The fighting type didn't even realize what hit it. "A Aqua Jet? Well, aren't you the fiesty one."
Tyrogue hit the ground, but rolled right back up. "Tyrogue! Hang tight a second!" She said. Tyrogue noticed why. The Oshawott was still full speed with its Aqua Jet and it was making another pass. "Rock Smash!" Freth then shouted. Tyrogue met the Oshawott head on, smashing its fist right into Oshawott's head, driving it right into the floor, stopping the Oshawott dead in its tracks. "Nice work, now Low Kick!" she then commanded. Tyrogue shoved his foot right under the Oshawott to kick him upright then spun right around to gain moment and drove his kick down towards Oshawott's gut, driving it back.
The combo attack didn't go over too hot with Oshawott. It got back up, irritated. The Oshawott then inhaled then fired out a couple of water gun attacks. "Tyrogue, get in there! Watch those shots!" she said. The Tyrogue ducked and weaved around the shots the Oshawott was firing, but something felt off to Freth. It almost as if...
Freth took notice after the last water gun shot, Oshawott shifted one of his hands towards his shell. "Woah! Tyrogue! Hold up! Stop!" Unfortunately, Tyrogue was too over committed; Oshawott drew its shell and slashed hard with it. While Razor Shell wouldn't do too much to metal objects like Oshawott was trying earlier, it still could very well do a job to other Pokemon at least, just as Tyrogue found out the hard way.
"Crap, that one was on me Tyrogue! Are you alright!?" The Oshawott started to come in, drawing back its shell for another Razor Shell attack to strike down Tyrogue while he was down. Tyrogue scooted back then flipped back, managing to avert the follow-up attack. "Tyrogue, use Headbutt!" she commanded.
Back on his feet, Tyrogue lept forward and smashed his skull against Oshawott. Oshawott was left staggering back, reeling over the attack. Freth then remembered something. Tyrogue had a lot more to offer than what she's been getting him to do now. Back in the mall when Tyrogue squared off against her Absol, he actually showed a hell of a lot. Such as... "Mach Punch!" she shouted.
Tyrogue then kicked off the ground, practically seemingly like he glided across driving his fist right into Oshawott with blinding speed, driving it into the ground once again. Oshawott wasn't going to take it lying down, however. The Oshawott drove both of his feet vengefully right into Tyrogue, driving it back with fury. "A Revenge attack? Oshawott, just what are you?" she asked.
Tyrogue was unfortunately hurt. The Razor Shell and Revenge attacks done pretty decisive damage. If anything, this Oshawott knew where and how to hit. Perhaps living along side electric types just a short walk away from the waters, this thing had been around the block more than once. She could almost relate. "Tyrogue, can you keep going?"
"Rooogue." Tyrogue said. It was cringing kind of badly. It was trying to hang on, but honestly he'd be dropping at any second. And here Freth thought the Wishiwashi was a massive threat. She tried to think quickly as to what to do. She also remembered that Tyrogue had a Bullet Punch up its proverbial sleeves as well, but against the likes of a water type? Not really going to do much of anything. As far as she figured she needed to have Tyrogue land a High Jump Kick somehow, since that was the strongest attack in Tyrogue's arsenal. The Oshawott however would probably be waiting on such a move though, if luring Tyrogue in to take a Razor Shell wasn't evident enough of that.
Oshawott wasn't going to wait for Freth to plan this out. The Oshawott rushed for Tyrogue, shell once again drawn and started to quickly swipe at Tyrogue. It wasn't a Razor Shell, it was something different...Oshawott can't learn Fury Swipes, could it? Wait...no. Fury cutter. "Tyrogue, meet it head on! Bullet Punch!" Tyrogue stepped in and just as she hoped Tyrogue was on the defensive, using the motions of the Bullet Punch to parry Oshawott's swiping motions. However, Freth wouldn't be able to get Tyrogue to last for long like this. The more Fury Cutter goes on, the stronger it gets, and it will get to the point where Tyrogue WILL feel that, even with resistances against such an attack.
"Tyrogue! Low Kick!" Tyrogue managed to parry one last time then drove his foot forward to trip Oshawott. As Tyrogue went to spin around for momentum to follow through with his kick, Oshawott switched shell hands and braced for impact. Tyrogue's foot drove right into Oshawott's shell. "Protect!?" She couldn't help but to ask. Tyrogue bounced right off of Oshawott's guard. The Oshawott spun around, building momentum of its own to make a decisive strike with its Razor Shell. "Tyrogue!" Freth called out.
Tyrogue managed to right himself, clapping his hands together, catching Oshawott where his tiny hands met his shell and holding on tight, then quickly re-directing the attack. The Oshawott stumbled, now leaving the water Pokemon wide open. The Tyrogue retaliated in spades, uppercutting with sheer ferocity the Oshawott, practically lifting it off its feet for a moment before the Oshawott hit the ground. "Did...you just use Counter?" Freth asked. "You actually had that too? Why didn't you say anything!?"
"Rogue..." it spoke up, having to breathe heavily a couple of seconds to catch its breath. "ty...tyrogue..."
"...I didn't ask." She said, with the most deadpan tone with just of a deadpan look on her face. "You and I really need to have words." The Oshawott managed to get back up, it was tearing up, rather it was the pain from the massive retaliatory move or perhaps it simply bit its tongue when it got struck. Whatever the case, it was hurt. Oshawott then looked around, realizing it was missing its shell, seeing it near Tyrogue, to which Tyrogue promptly kicked the shell behind him. If Oshawott wanted its weapon back, it had to go through him. "Now we're talking." Freth said.
The Oshawott once again picked up furious speed, charging full speed with its Aqua Jet. It was all Freth needed. "High Jump Kick!" The Tyrogue rushed forward to meet the Aqua Jet head on, jumped, and drove his foot right into Oshawott and stopping the Oshawott dead in its tracks. It was down, and it seemed like it was nearly out. "I got this one, Tyrogue. Hang back for a second for me." She said. She took out a Net Ball and primed it, giving it a toss. The ball ensnares the Oshawott then hits the ground. And there it shook. The Oshawott didn't seem want to go in quietly...

The ball shook frantically, and much to Freth's disdain, out came the Oshawott, rather annoyed, but still rather worn out. "Are you serious about that?" Freth said.
"Rooooogue!" Tyrogue said frustratingly.
The Oshawott went back on the attack, and while it looked like Tyrogue was the target, Tyrogue managed to step out of the way. The target was Oshawott's shell. It got its weapon back.
"Oh no you don't. Take two then!" Freth said, tossing yet another Net Ball. The second Net Ball ensnared Oshawott and once again, just as the first, the ball landed and started to shake frantically.
Once again, despite all odds, the Oshawott breaks out of the ball. "These Net Balls are seriously not doing as advertised..." Freth said, getting frustrated. She then started pulling out a third one, but as she done so. The Oshawott realizing what was going on decided to turn tail and run for it. "Oh no you don't!"
A Timer Ball was now on the menu. Quickly Freth tossed the ball out and once again ensnares the Oshawott. With the battle going on this long, let alone going through her other Pokeballs, sans a emergency Repeat ball, this had to do it. Right? Surely this thing can't be that stubborn.

Finally the stubborn Oshawott finally succumb to the Pokeball. After several shakes, the ball finally locked and the light dimmed. Oshawott was successfully captured. Freth couldn't help but to give a sigh of relief as both she and Tyrogue approached the Pokeball. Freth knelt down, picking it up off the floor then looked over towards Tyrogue. "You did real good today in the end. You know that, right?"
"Rogue."
"I was right, wasn't I?"
"Tyrogue."
"You guess...?"
"Rogue tyrogue."
"Now will you tell me what the whole problem was?" Asking such a thing didn't get any notion of irritation this time. Only...sadness now. It was looking like Tyrogue was about to spill the beans, albeit mournfully. "That bad?"
"Rogue." He spoke up, trying to hold back tears.
"You know, don't worry about it. Its all in the past now." She picked up the Tyrogue. "Let's go home."

In an odd twist, Amaranth wasn't the one to go into the contest. Having headed back to grab a few things and arrange a reunion of sorts, Cera had found herself back in Alola for a bit and decided to see what the fuss was about. She'd just let someone else do the fighting if it came to it; it'd probably be frowned upon if she did it herself, though she still wasn't crazy about the idea of having to use Pokeballs like some half-baked trainer. Still, she could at least say she saw what the deal was and could leave it at that, ending up in the facility's reactor room, flooded to the point that she opted to stay on her Lapras' head.
"Look, just keep an eye out... I don't know what's over here- no, it's still easier to let you swim than try to carry you. You're heavy."
Getting a cry in protest, the Lapras would look around, careful not to throw Cera off in the process.

In very short order, an Unown would show itself and give a quizzical look to the Mew and Lapras before it. Given it was shaped like a question mark, it maybe made sense that it was confused. But it didn't take long for Cera to do everything she could to make Lapras turn around, feeling that this Unown was anything but alone. "Uhhhh, yeah, how about no. You saw nothing."
Immediately, the two turned around and went another direction, wanting nothing to do with anything that Unown had to offer.

After a couple of moments, a Charjabug could also be seen crawling along one of the few parts of the room that wasn't flooded out. Both of them watched to make sure it wouldn't fall in and zap everyone in the room, and then went on their way to further explore the room.

A Tentacool could be seen to their side for a moment, but was ultimately ignored and not noticed. What seemed to have more attention was the weird piece of wrapped candy that looked like a fake version of Rare Candy, sitting on a piece of driftwood. Probably something made to look like it so people could think they got something neat. It probably would taste of nothing and disappointment.
Cera would take and hold on to it anyway.

[Side Area B - Flooded Reactor]
Almost as soon as the odd candy was taken, a cry could be heard closeby. Though Lapras was content with just continuing the exploration, Cera would give a quick tap, forcing her to stop- albeit with a bit of a huff.
"You did hear that, right? It came from over... there..."
What was seen next took both of them off guard: a Pichu atop a small piece of driftwood, using it like a tiny makeshift surfboard. The water around here was generally still, but that didn't seem to stop it from two things. The first being trying to splash the water and find some way to actually get some action out of it. The other was to angrily glare at the Lapras practically towering over it. And maybe the Mew holding the candy it must've been gunning for, as once it took notice of it, its glare was directed at her instead.
As well as a lot of angry chatter.
"...what, this?" She asked, confused and trying not to upset the Pichu more than it already was. "Look, um. I just grabbed it because it seemed weird. This thing's probably been around before you ever hatched, it'd probably make you sick if you ate it. Or just crumble to dust as soon as it's opened..." She had hoped that maybe it'd just get aggravated and storm off, or at least figure it wasn't worth contesting it.
She hadn't thought about the possibility of Lapras deciding that the angry chatter was an invitation to challenge it, firing off an Ice Beam as a warning shot. "Wait, no, don't-" Before Cera could try to reign her in, the shot was fired and part of the water near Pichu was frozen in an instant. Enough to form a slight ramp with the water that splashed from impact.
Curious, the Pichu poked at the ice before backing off, trying its hardest to build up speed, and- when it did- use the icy ramp to hop with its driftwood surfboard to create a few small waves. It wasn't enough to do anything at all past splash some water at Lapras and look cute, but what piqued Cera's interest was the energy felt when it did that. It wasn't much, but it reminded her of something she felt when she first met Amaranth. It also wasn't something she expected to see; there were stories and anecdotes of the odd Pikachu here and there that had an affinity with water, able to even attack with it, and carry that affinity even as a Raichu. To say nothing of the local ones out in this region.
She didn't expect to see something like that out of a Pichu. Unless maybe one of its parents was a Raichu from the region, but she doubted that would've equated to such an oddity. "...do that. There was no reason to attack it like that, what were you think- no, nevermind, I can already guess. At least it's okay... hey, um. Maybe leave, please? I don't think fighting's a good idea."
Unfortunately, Pichu was having none of that. It still wanted that candy, and it'd go through anyone or anything to do so. At least, that's what Cera figured the chattering meant; young as that Pichu had to be, she had a hard time understanding it properly. Though, as it continued its remarks and started hopping up and down on the driftwood, she noticed as it teetered and wobbled, eyes growing wide when it tilted just a bit too far and sent a surprised Pichu into the water to flail around. Swimming didn't appear to be its strong suit yet.
On instinct, Cera flung herself off Lapras' head and dove into the water, moving herself underneath Pichu to scoop it out. Its surprise would quickly go from being forced into the water to finding itself out of the water and on the Mew's back before both of them ended up on Lapras' back with an exasperated sigh. "Oi... you. You need to be more careful! What if we weren't around to get you out of there? You could've drowned!"
Between the surprises and now getting a talking to with a sterner "voice" than expected, Pichu did the only thing that came to mind. It recoiled back, noticing the upset tone, and cried.
"Oh, right, is probably pretty young... this is a little too familiar," Cera remarked, remembering how she had to talk to Lapras at first. Lightly wrapping her tail around Pichu, she'd coax it over and give a light sigh. "Sorry, sorry. You could've been in a bad spot if someone wasn't around to get you out of there, okay? You're safe now, but I don't think anyone would be too happy if you weren't. Where's your parents, anyway?"
Having forgotten about the candy- now having rolled and stopped on Lapras' nose to her dismay- there wasn't much of a response. Pichu would give a weird look, tilting its head and unsure of what the voice in its head was asking. Not the sort of response that exactly thrilled the Mew.
"You don't know. You don't know... either they're not here or you drifted here before you hatched or some trainer left you or... great, this is great." She could already tell leaving the Pichu alone was an iffy proposition. Chances are it'd be fine, but this was certainly not the place for it to be. She didn't feel right leaving it up to that chance, but it was already apparent that it was going to be a handful if she decided to have it stay. If it'd even want to.
Her choice would wind up being made for her when it decided to try and reach for the driftwood it was on earlier, taking one of the Safari Balls and lightly tapping Pichu with it to bring it inside. "Yeah, you're too young to be left alone here. This is not what I expected to come in to today..."

Surprised yet again, Pichu would find itself suddenly in something much more unfamiliar to it, thrashing around inside and causing the Safari Ball to wobble repeatedly. Even as Cera grabbed it to keep it from rolling off into the water, it shook furiously. To her good luck or dismay, however, it'd eventually stop, the Pichu inside calming down and the ball clicking. The whole thing still didn't set well with the Mew, knowing she had someone else to deal with for the time being. Let alone the ball; she'd have to deal with that later.
"Yeah, um. Just get out of here. We might as well wait for the judging. Not sure what Ammy sees in these contests..." Making sure to grab the candy to further discern it too, Cera and Lapras wound find their way back out of the reactor room and stand by. She'd need time to sort out how to fully deal with the Pichu she caught anyway.

As Wren made his escape from the Yungoos, he found himself approached by a rodent bandit. A mustachioed mouse with a bad attitude stood between him and his final escape. "Huh? Looks like a Rattata..." He said to himself as he pulled out his SNAG and scanned this one. According to the information displayed (GRAY refused to talk to him anymore on this trip, it looked like), this was Rattata's Alolan form and it was a Dark-type.
"Anemone, use Bug Bite." He directed as the rodent charged forward with a Quick Attack. Anemone nodded and waited for the Rattata to get within biting range before stabbing at it with a needle-like protrusion of energy. Rattata's Quick Attack was put to an instant stop as the attack hit, causing it to yelp and quickly reverse it's trajectory. Once it landed on the ground, Rattata hissed and began to focus it's energy.
"Hm. Use Air Cutter this time." Wren directed, watching their rodent opponent carefully. The miniscule mammal wasn't going to just up and stop, it seemed. Anemone's attack came only a moment after it was called, requiring far less effort for her to use it now than it had when they had started this journey today. Rattata snapped back at it's attacker with a Hyper Fang, though it only managed to break through one of the incoming blades and was hit by the rest. It wasn't going to stop it from completing it's charge, however and, as the smoke cleared from the bombardment, it burst out of the cloud with glowing teeth bared.
Anemone didn't have enough time to evade this one and it hurt when those little teeth sank in. "Cooomb!"
"Muzzle this rat! String Shot!" The moment Rattata let go of her, Anemone spat a thread of silk at the rodent, wrapping up it's muzzle with ease and leaving it a small hole to breath through. Rattata thrashed and rolled around on the ground for a moment, trying to get the silk off before it finally got fed up and ran away before it could be treated worse.

Once he was safely away from all the rodents trying to eat them for lunch, Wren and Anemone had to stop and rest again. The poor Combee was worn out at this point. Fortunately the two managed to get some actual rest this time around before they started exploring again. The sounds of their constant battling seeming to have driven most of the wild Pokemon to avoid their present location for a while, at least. By the time they were ready to start exploring again, both had caught their breath and were feeling more or less fully rested.
They'd found their way into an office to hide for a bit and when Wren opened the door to leave it, he found that it wasn't going to be that easy. Out in the hallway was yet another Timburr. This one, however, didn't have a 4x4. It was carrying around a full-sized railroad tie. The Fighting-type looked at Wren and his Combee, cocked it's head to the side for a moment and swung it's railroad tie via Hammer Arm, attempting to crush them both into the wall and take said wall out with them.
"Anemone, use Air Cutter!" Wren exclaimed as he leaped out of range of the attack, watching Anemone fly up and over it, if only barely. The wind from the swing was enough to drag her across the hallway when the attack passed. Fortunately, she managed to get her Air Cutter off before she hit the wall and fell slightly.
Timburr lashed out and struck the falling pieces of wall, sending jagged pieces of the drywall flying toward Anemone with Stone Edge.
"Anemone, use Swift!" The miniature Bug's beam attack destroyed the smaller chunks of stone that broke off the larger one and in the midst of the rubble exploding toward her, she evaded the largest piece, firing another small cluster of beams at the Timburr.
Throwing it's arm up to defend itself from the beams, Timburr blocked the attack though not without taking a small amount of damage. Dropping it's railroad tie, it jumped up to reach Anemone and slapped at her with open palmed strikes, utilizing Chip Away to whittle her health down slowly.
"Air Cutter!" Wren ordered. At that range, if she could pull of the attack quickly, she could end the battle now. Anemone nodded just as Timburr jumped into the air and, between it's attacks, she managed to pool enough energy together to stop it with and Air Cutter to it's gut at point blank range. As the blades struck, Tiumburr was knocked backwards over and over until, finally, it was left to crash to the ground, landing beside it's railroad tie out cold.
"Every time we run into one of those things, I swear it's stronger than the last one..." Wren voiced to himself more than Anemone as the two left their unconscious attacker behind.

"I know, I know, but GRAY said there was a strange energy signature coming from inside here." Sub said to Hemlock as the pair entered the Ruined Testing Dome, much to Hemlock's annoyance as he was ready to return home already. Sub wasn't kidding though, or making excuses, GRAY did alert him via SNAG that a strange energy reading was coming from the testing dome, one that didn't match up with any energy signatures GRAY had in his database. Sub knew there was something strange about this facility and now GRAY pretty much confirmed it so he had to come back and check it out.
