Description: I immediately decided on Tiana because I felt like her spunky attitude fit Ava really well. I didn't want to copy her dress exactly and tried to capture both the princess and flapper/1920's parts of Tiana. Ava's hair gave me the most trouble. It turns out the frohawk doesn't work with a lot of crowns. I decided her crown should look more like a fascinator in the end and thankfully it looks great.
The dupatta is what truly ties the whole thing together. While Tiana's husband is from a made up country, it's clear that part of the ambiguity was based off of India. It's a great reference and references a very happy part of Tiana's life so of course I had to include it. The vintage gold breaks up the overwhelming green of the rest of the outfit. I'd been searching for that balance for a while and I'm glad to have finally found it.
Here I imagine Ava walking through the Bayou. Civilization isn't too far away and neither is the party she left. The night is alive with both human and insect life. What a great time to be alive!
Description: A mini vacation in the mountains at a beautiful log cabin. Why was she there? Who was she with? Aubrie isn't telling, but she had a great time.
The prompt told us to use our favorite pastel color scheme, so I went headfirst into that. I adore all the muted pastels themes like wakuwaku, fionn, moondust, and silken. I also love some of the rare colors like porple, marzipan, and snowdrop. I've been told I have champagne taste on a beer budget.
I wanted to use them all, but I also wanted to create a cohesive look that fit my model. I didn't want to lean too heavily into the cuteness that dominates the pastel color schemes. The first item I landed on were the cute booties, then I found the teatime coat which felt like a fun contrast. Warm and cute, but with a hint of figure-hugging allure. A few accessories and a cozy hat finished the outfit. I added a warm cabin setting, suggesting a cold climate outside that Aubrie may have just come in from.
My chosen color inspiration may have limited my pool of choices, but I wanted to stick with those colors that I love so much. Fulfilling the theme and the story were my priorities.

Of Thorns and Roses mythological irony • Sumati
I wasn't really sure where to start with this one since using pastel colors is not my forte, so I did what I pretty much always do when pastel colors are thrown into the mix and I don't have a clear idea of what to do: I searched "amaranth," the first pastel color I always think of. What I did NOT want to do, however, was use bubblegum as my scheme--personally just see too much of it.
While trying on various items, I stumbled across Tsunbani no Monogatari, which also includes midori, so I went from there. As I continued to build, a theme took shape. I wanted Sumati to look regal and elegant, almost untouchable--to which I added layers, like walls.
I added a little lullytuft purple to break up the monotony of the amaranth and midori without being too dissimilar.
After finishing with the pastel outfit, it was time to work on the background. I knew immediately that I wanted something dark to not only contrast with the pastel colors but to help balance out Sumati's hair. I ended up choosing the background from I am Wilted Suffering, which had a nice dark-to-light gradient on the top half, which left the darker spot of Sumati's head on the lighter part of the gradient, and included various shades of purple to help balance out the lullytuft.
And then to go full throttle with the contrast, I added some pops of red flowers, plus the little hearts in her otherwise mostly amaranth/midori makeup. Finally, I added the shadow on her face to give a little more dimension and also push more for that unreachable look.
Designer: Ultrabord Model: Esther Challenge: Be Gentle Outfit Title: Spring Has Sprung
Description:
Esther has been watching the weather changing, enjoying every moment. Whether the weather is cool and windy or warm and rainy, there is beauty in nature. Now the forests, fields and ponds are awakening and the colors are slowly brightening from the dull dormant winter scenery into the bright but soft pastels of spring. Every day, there are new things to discover, more leaves, flowers and adorable animals returning from hibernation, migrating back from warmer regions, or preparing to bring more life into the world. And are those fairies, spreading their magic through the forest and helping all the new life grow?
I chose refreshing spring colors and a youthful style, celebrating the new season, using peaceful, gentle pastels that contrast and match well with the model's hair and skin. I started with gooby green which is one of my personal favorites, adding touches of agate blue, chiffon yellow and just a touch of pink for a fresh, relaxing style. I completed the look with gentle natural scenery featuring frogs and fireflies. The natural misty filter and glowing forest fairies add a bit of a mystical feel as well, like a picture from a fairy tale.
OOC: For the record, I was one of the people who voted that I didn't like it but I can do it. Not everybody has plenty of time to procrastinate but still complete two whole challenges in a week. I do always have at least a few hours online every day, but I had mixed feelings about the whole double header. I don't mind the contest taking a bit less time overall, but I wouldn't have minded a longer competition.
People often go to gardens during day to enjoy its beauty, but often forget that many flowers bloom at night and have just the best fragrance. As evening falls, Maritza heads to her garden to enjoy the beauty that often goes by unnoticed. To kiss some plants goodnight and welcome others as they wake up
For making avis, gaia just doesnt have enough of some color schemes to match them on their own, but gaia ended up having a lot of similar enough items for it. I mostly tried for blue and green colors with a touch of pink Most of the work went into setting up the background. There is a lot of layering to it and I wanted to set up the dusk feel where stars are out but its still a bit bright outside I thought of using a darker background first and making it a night setting, that would've brought out pastel colors of her clothing more, but decided to play it safe and keep background in similar color scheme. Just had to work around a bit that main avi items dont just blend with background unintentionally
desc - believe it or not, I've never seen any of the Disney princess classics. so I ended up doing a quick look through the wiki, and realized just how similar Lulu and Snow White look! it's like she was made to be in a Snow White reboot! keeping it classic, Lulu shares the same colours as the original princess, the red in her hair a cool little nod to the red accents on snow whites sleeves, as well as a fun alternative to the headband worn by the princess. the apple tree in the background is my favourite touch, a very subtle hint to the poisoned apple in her story. I felt like the sunlight effect really brought it out, a warm and comforting feel to make her blend more with the forest behind her. and to top it off is all her little (and big) animal companions, a variety of small birds, along with the solid white horse. since what's a princess without an over-the-top pretty horse?

Outfit Title: The Joys of Travel Designer: bloodangel95 Model: Bryce
Description: Bryce decided to go on island vacation! She hopped on a cruise ship that was going to take her there. On the cruise ship she ate and slept, slept and ate. She was trying to gain some energy to enjoy her vacation to the max, but because of that she didn't realize she got on the wrong ship until they landed! eek She was so confident boarding and kept to herself on the ride that no one caught on that she was on the wrong ship! She was lucky that the room she was in was unoccupied too.
Instead of stressing about the confusion she might as well enjoy exploring something new. There were a few problems here and there. For instance all she packed in her suitcase was cute spring/beach clothing, not even a thick coat for the cold. Even that wasn't an obstacle for long, a nice dashing sailor lent her his coat. He also offered to show her around!
"Wow. There are so many lovely shops!" "The music sounds beautiful!" *sniffs* "It smells delicious! Where is that smell coming from?! I'm hungry." "Problems will get solved one by one eventually, let's just have fun. I can do it." "Let's make this the best vacation ever!"
I went with the bubblegum scheme, but tried to make it more pink than blue or white. The outfit came together by itself as soon as I found that hat in bubblegum, however I changed it to a more pink hat. I originally did have a beach/port/ship scene, but it felt lacking. I wanted something more interesting in the background. As I kept searching for trees or plants to add in the background eventually this story started to formed and I liked it so I ran with it. I placed sparkles around her head to illustrate her excitement at all the interesting sights, manga/webtoon style.

Title: A Love For Lavender or How I Ruined my Sleep Schedule
Challenge:#7 Be Gentle
Description: I would apologize for adding pastels in both of my entries this week but I've done a pastel outfit before and I will probably do it again before the end of the competition because I love a pastel shade!! I'm especially a sucker for all shades of purple (the best color) so originally my goal was to make a monochrome pastel purple look with the various shades Gaia has given us so far. That idea fell through, but in the process I did discover a new shade called Sweetpea and I got to use Konpeito which is one of my favorite color schemes, so I still consider this look a win!
The driving force behind this look beyond the color was seeing how much I could push a cute look on Talia without her features being out of place. In my mind cute and cozy are always interconnected so what better way to get my model out of their comfort zone than a casual cozy night in with a cute pajama/ house clothes look! Talia is ready for an all night gaming session with her Konpeito night dress paired with a Sweetpea cardigan that matches her iconic kitty kat headset. On the bottom, she has cute striped socks and slippers to keep her feet warm all night. Finally I gave her a pair of glasses in Sickly, which also adds to the cozy at home theme (lemme take off my contacts and let my eyes breathe-) and also had the added bonus of blocking a part of Talia's always on eyeshadow which I feel softened the look a lot. I also gave her the teeniest amount of extra eyeshadow but one that shows up more from the bottom of her eye so would have that tired gamer vibe.
For the background I chose a gaming den that came in slightly darker but still pastel shades of blue and purple with the offblack accents selling the late night mood, and I added in a pillowy plushie background as it acts as a gamer chair for my model while adding more pastels to the look. The background is finished off with a cute little tiny music note effect <3

Challenge:Be Gentle Model: Ava Outfit Title: Cafe Sherbet Equipped List:
Description: Pastel themes are so cute! It was so hard to decide which one to focus on, but in the end I decided Sherbet was the one that would fit Ava best. However, to make sure the final design wasn't too messy (Sherbet is a very busy colorscheme) I also incorporated a lot of white into the design and opted to make her stockings a single solid color as they were very close to her colorful apron. It still emphasizes the Sherbet but doesn't overwhelm the viewer.
There's a sorta lolita (the Japanese subculture) vibe in Ava's look. I thought a pastel theme would be a great way to emphazise her cuteness and whats cuter than a lolita maid selling sweets? Working hard at looking sweet!

"Happy Easter!" by clowniing

Hush now, we have to be quiet! The Easter Bunny still has plenty of eggs to hide and deliveries to make, before she can have her well-earned break!

YAHOOOO PASTEL COLORS!!!!! Ahem.... I mean..... As you've probably noticed, I really love working with light colors and pastel tones, so obviously this was a challenge that I was looking forward to a whole lot!!
I pretty much immediately decided to make a cute 'easter bunny' look, since Easter is coming right up and I'm in a Spring mood! The weather is getting warmer, plants are starting to grow and flowers are beginning to bloom. I want to celebrate my favorite time of year with this look!
I thought about what kind of colors I associate with Spring and Easter, and landed on white, green, pink, blue and... yellow! Usually yellow isn't among the first colors you think of when you hear 'pastel', but I really love pastel yellow! It's soft and cheery and I thought it goes great with Rhiannon's skin tone, so I decided to go with that as my main outfit color this time :3
The main accent color for the outfit is white, while I used green, blue and pink mainly for the scene: the bright blue sky above, the green field Rhiannon is standing on, and the delicate flowers with pink & yellow petals. I did still want Rhiannon's outfit to reflect her surroundings, so I sprinkled in just a bit of blue, pink and green as accessories.
The apron, lace, flowers and basket give her look a cute Cottagecore vibe that I thought really fits to an innocent and hardworking Easter Bunny, and the the bunny hood is actually my favorite item on Gaia! I was absolutely delighted to be able to put it on Rhiannon!! Finally, the frame I chose just reminded me of a basket or embroidery, which are both very fitting for a Cottagecore + Easter combo!
All in all, this is a very self-indulgent look for me that I had a ton of fun creating!!
╚⏤⏤⏤╗❀╔⏤⏤⏤╝ ˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀Title: A flower for you ˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀Description: I'm a sucker for pastel colored items so I was pretty excited about this theme yipee! So after looking through all the items I have accumulated I found this lovely scheme called kaguya. Beautiful pink and green colors that mash so well together I couldn't resist not to mention it looks lovely with Amren's skin color so I was sold. I started off with this headscarf type item and built off of it, it's cutesy so I decided I would do a nice fluffy dress with lots of layers since personally that's what I like to do and this just seemed like a personalized kind of theme. After layering the dresses I decided on this cute arm item that has a flower in the hand which is so cute as well, added more flower type decorations on the head and in the background to make it seem like she has just picked it fresh. Made sure to add the vintage gold color in there as well since it's also a part of the color scheme, brought that in with the head item, belt, and the zippers on the shoes. I actually adore this leg item the boots are just too cute and the subtle bit of pink to pull more of it into the look. The background isn't my favorite item but the flower type backgrounds in this color scheme aren't the best so we stick with what we can. Overall I just wanted a cute vibe with the implication that she has picked a flower to give to you. gaia_sakura
desc - I may not like pastels, but what I LOVE is rainbows!! and I'm sure pastel rainbow counts,, right?? technically the items here fall under the ''iridescent'' pastel colour palette. for this look I actually started with the bg for once, sending me down a hole of making "pastel space magical girl" type outfit. Here we see Lulu in yet another cutesy look, trying to keep her more mature energy still there with the bodysuit underneath the sheer skirt, along with those cute little garters (is that what their called?). Everything staying true to match the background with as much soft rainbow as possible, a few solid colour accessories (head band, alien antenna, bg moon phases, etc.) to compliment the nearly overwhelming rainbows. of course, you can also see the slightest pixels of the star earrings i love so much. putting them in every outfit i can while i look for my own. My favourite item of the look has got to be this jacket puff skirt combo, i am totally loving it, the look had a completely different feel without it and i think it brings the whole outfit together.
