mofoslotmachine EwYouNerd Basically, no matter how intelligent you think you are, unless you state a canon law like "Sakura has pink hair", you cannot claim your opinion is fact. Thank you for summing up my whole point in one sentence. evil Betch.

EwYouNerd heart Hey hey hey. Has anyone actually done thorough research on human sexuality combining genetics, evolutionary psychology, neuropsychology, physiology, and biology? Has anyone taken into consideration the fact that the shinobi world is a completely different society, where homosocial bonds are probably encouraged? Where it's alright to expose children to murder at a young age, and teach young kunoichis that they'd have to use their beauty and body in the future in battle, therefore it's probably normal for them to be sexualized at a young age? Not saying it's right by our society's standards, but anyways. My point is, any of them having homosexual relationships is theoretically plausible in that canonverse, unless a character shows overt heterosexuality (and even then)....likewise, it's very plausible for someone who appears very stereotypically (by western standards) gay to be attracted to women. In literary terms, it's 100% not really going to happen. But in literary terms, stupid s**t happens since Kishimoto sucks, and only a couple of people will probably hook up. Yes, yes, no, yes, yes, yes, and yes.
It is not nearly as plausible when there is evidence suggesting that they are heterosexual.

Captain Verd Shikalee Except you're wrong. Your accusation is just as ridiculous as her pet peeve. I am not jealous, in hating, or suspicious of Shikamaru FANS. I actually have very hearty discussions with them. We're all smiles, gabbing on about how awesome his ninjutsu is. I hate fangirls. Period. Of any sort. They can love Shikamaru or Naruto or Sakura and I would hate them all the same. As far as weird quirks and personalities go, sure, she could take an honest emotion and "throw it in my face." But the difference is that she was being completely unreasonable, rendering her rather foolish. The things I feel are also somewhat foolish, but I am not unaware of them nor do I deny them. I cope, and I'm trying to change. Alright fine, you caught me. Let me rephrase my arguement. Shikalee: Mofo's pet peeve isn't any more ridiculous than your jealousy/hatred/suspicion of Shikamaru's other fan girls. I wouldn't go pointing fingers about weird quirks in personalities since you're in love with a comic book character and that could be thrown in your face at any time, unfortunately. EWYOUNERD: UM UR WRONG BECAUSE I ROTE TEH MANGA >( Depends on what you mean by "fangirl."
A fan is a fan. They can have a p***s, a kooch, or both, and they're still just a fan. The term "fangirl" typically indicates some sort of "romantic" or a great appetence towards that character. Typically I will dislike fangirls, unless they have an actual reason for their attachment. I have not met one. surprised Maybe someday I will but so far I've been s**t out of luck. You've repeated yourself, and I said what needed to be said to that swift comeback of yours.

LOL.
Princess Dustbunny Yknow, there's a such thing as bisexuality. Just to say so biggrin
Quoted for truth!
Basically, my argument is this: fictional characters don't have sexualities. Unless it's a part of the character (e.g. a homophobe, an out and proud lesbian, or something like that) it's given no thought because it usually doesn't matter. So it always makes me laugh when people are all "OMG THAT CHARACTER IS STRAIGHT HOW CAN YOU SEE THEM AS GAY" because I don't see why they care, or how they know. Do they think they need to defend a character's "honour"? Having gay fanfiction written about a character means nothing. I've read Pong slash. No one is safe. twisted
Shikalee, let me put it like this... I'm not arguing that Shikamaru is gay. I'm not arguing that ANYONE is gay. (Except Temari, but I won't push that point. domokun ) If you want to read Shikamaru as the straightest straight in Straighttown, idc. I'm just saying that your interpretation of that character is no more valid than anyone else's when it comes to subtext, so using words like "fact" makes me recoil a bit.
...So who wants ice cream?
