Dameon walked along the back alleys. He could sense some more than human adversaries, and he needed to pinpoint their location somehow. He thought he had almost found them when a mother and her baby came across his path.
"Good afternoon."
The very cheerfulness of the sentiment infuriated him. He raised his right hand, and it glowed black. The baby began to cry; a warning of what was to come. Then, both mother and baby glowed black as well, and their shadows separated from them, becoming separate beings of their own. The shadows started off two-dimensional, then gained depth. Opening their eyes, these shadow people glared a crimson stare on their human counterparts. Both screamed as they were mercilessly strangled by their shadows. The very unnaturality of the scene would make the standard mortal's heart ache just watching. The unholiness of the sight would probably make you unable to sleep for months on end. Once it was clear that the mortals were no longer capable of drawing breath, the shadows wisped into smoke, and flew toward Dameon. He held high a ruby amulet, and it absorbed them.
He continued along his way, trying to locate the demi-gods which stood in his way...
(Oooooooooh!)

Zach nodded, then flowed even more magic through Justin. After a moment, he said, "If you start feeling dizzy, tell me. That means we probably need to stop for a moment, or you'll get a K.O."
