"Thanks." Kaya said as he released Primrose. The Leavanny wasn't in any need of training but she could and would nanny the babies while Kaya worked with the other two. The man's face was a bit red from Nigel's assault but he seemed fine, otherwise.

Walking over to the two Normal-types he planned to work with, he looked down to Nigel. "I want you to use Bubble and Water Gun to keep Josie at bay while she tries to attack you." He told the Azurill. "And I want you to try breaking through his defenses." He told Josephine, turning to her as he said it. "But under no circumstances are you to use Double Edge. I know you can but this exercise isn't about powering through, ok." He told the Eevee. "But first...." He removed the Mystic Water tied around Nigel's neck and replaced it with a small, spherical bell on a silver chain. The Soothe Bell, he hoped, would help to make Nigel more calm and less aggressive towards him.

Keiko's attention was grabbed by the shiny bell before she could return to her own team. Getting an idea, she told her four pokemon to take a break before leaning against a wall and observing Kaya's methods, hoping he doesn't get creeped out by being watched by a girl while training his pokemon.

Kaya failed to notice Keiko's halting, or her watching, as he began to work with his two Pokemon. Nigel was doing fairly well. He was bouncing around quite a bit, enjoying the jingling of his Soothe Bell as he blew bubbles everywhere. What Kaya was interested in was the force of them. Scanning the Azurill, GRAY informed him that Nigel had learned Bubblebeam, which apparently had replaced his knowledge of Bubble. Not that it made much difference, really. It was stronger and still water-type so he was ok with that.

Josephine, however, had immediately gone on the offensive, using Double Edge right off the bat. "Whoa!" He shouted as he ran out and caught her before she reached Nigel. "What did I say? Don't use Double Edge. I want you to learn how to fight with more skill. You're too reckless right now." He told her, holding the Eevee up by the base of her tail. Her forelegs crossed in irritation but she nodded as Kaya sat her down and scanned her with his SNAG as well. After a few moments, he was given a short list of moves she knew. "Why not try using Quick Attack to get in close and Detect to avoid getting hit, instead?" He suggested as he stepped back and the training resumed, Nigel having stopped blowing bubbles during the talk.

Keiko smiled awkwardly at Kaya as he handled the issues with his team. "Um..." She started to say, feeling a little uncomfortable, herself, about what she was about to offer. "Maybe... it would help if your pokemon weren't fighting each other? I could help, if you like?"

She realized the hypocricy in her question, which is why she was quick to offer once the question had been blurted out.

Kaya paused after a moment, when Keiko posed her question. "Actually.....you're probably right. You sure you don't mind?" He asked as he motioned his Pokemon to halt their attacks. He felt certain she must feel dumb for asking such a question when she'd been doing the same thing when he walked in. Granted, she'd have been hard-pressed to battle someone when he was the only other person here.

Keiko smiled, as Kaya didn't seem to mind her situation. "Of course not. Battling each other is what trainers do."

Keiko took a count of the pokemon in her collection and looked them over. Stasy was too tired from pushing herself as hard as she was against Rita, even in that small amount of time, though Rita herself still had plenty of energy. Aster and Cerberus, as they were close to equals in everything except speed and typing, had given their all against each other, yet still seemed to have plenty of energy left over. "How about three versus three? You first, Rita."

Keiko wouldn't stop Kaya from using more than three pokemon against her if he wanted, but she refused to force Stasy to strain herself further. She was still very young and had to get used to the flow of the battlefield. She wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight as she was, after exerting herself like that.

Kaya nodded. "That'll work." He agreed as he checked over the Pokemon he had. After a bit of thinking he decided that he'd let Anael go first. She seemed to be eager to try her hand at battling but before he could get the chance, Ballast whizzed by with a Quick Attack, taking center stage.

"Bee beebee!" He declared, buzzing around in circles before he sped towards Rita before Kaya could stop him.

"Oi vey.....this can't be good......" Kaya groaned. He figured letting the little thing get a taste of a battle would likely make him withdraw and let someone else take over. Hopefully Keiko wouldn't mind.

As the Bug-type encircled Rita, who knew instinctively of her weakness to that type, tears began to well up in her eyes.

"It's okay, Rita, you don't have to be afraid. It's just as scared of you as you are of it," Keiko lied with a soothing voice. "Why don't you give it a Psybeam to help it calm down, and I'm sure-"

There was nothing for it. Rita was wrapped in the full velocity of Fake Tears.

Ballast couldn't help but hug Rita when she began to cry. He hadn't meant to scare her. He'd thought they were just playing and his tail began to glow as he used Moonlight, attempting to use the soft light to soothe the little Psychic-type's fears.

As with her previous tantrum, these tears were merely facetious, a ruse of Rita's to bring the offending bug to stationary target mode. With Ballast in position, Rita emits a point-blank Psybeam to push the Bug-type off of her.

Keiko facepalmed at the sprung trap, severely tempted to recall Rita as punishment, despite the need to improve the Psychic-type's battle prowess.

Ballast wouldn't just be hit by the beam. He'd be launched all the way back to Kaya, out cold. "Sorry about that. I was planning to send in Anael." He said as he pointed to his Togepi, who was trying her very hardest to escape from Primrose and run out to the field.

Giving her a small smile, he handed over Ballast and and took the Normal-type from Prim, setting her down so she could run out into the field now. Before he could give an order, though, she flopped down and put a hand to her mouth, as if thinking. "Anael, use Metronome." Kaya told her, trying to break through her reverie. Nothing doing, however. She wasn't budging.

As much as Keiko wanted to break Rita out of her Fake Tears trap, there wasn't anything for it for now. Stasy was too worn out to battle and neither Aster nor Cerberus would take it easy enough on Anael. The Togepi needed someone close to his (her?) level.

"We're talking about this later," Keiko said disapprovingly to Rita, who was confused as to what she did to make Keiko upset in the first place. In her mind, she was using the move the way it was meant to be used. "For now, break Anael's focus with a Tickle attack."

Rita giddily moved up to Anael and began ferverently tickling the Togepi on the face, as she was unable to find any other soft areas around all that egg.

Anael's focus was indeed broken but not before she'd thought up a nasty plot for how she'd work this in her favor. It didn't go quite how'd she'd planned, however, as the tickling caused her to begin giggling madly. Her giggling grew louder and louder the longer it went on until she was belting out such high pitched wails that Kaya had to cover his ears. Her Hyper Voice hadn't been accounted for just yet.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 22, 2013 5:38 pm
Keiko covered her ears as well, and it wasn't long before Rita felt the urge to do so, too. Why did she have to laugh so loud? It was annoying! So much so that Rita proceeded to violently slap Anael over and over just to get the infuriatingly annoying egg person-thing to stop! If a Doubleslap would knock some sense into that eggpersonthing, all the better. But for right now Rita just wanted her ears to stop ringing!

Anael would react without thinking, withdrawing into herself in an attempt to figure out another way out of this. Plotting against this tiny humanoid occupied her mind to the point that she failed to notice she was still being slapped. Kaya was beginning to worry about Anael as she was slapped repeatedly but her shell seemed to be doing a decent job of protecting her, dulling the blows every so slightly whenever possible.
