The only high ranking Master I can think of that was allowed an exception was Ki-Adi-Mundi. That was because his species bred so rarely, and Cerean Jedi were nigh mythical. He had five wives and seven children, although he did his best not to become attached to any of them.

What happened to the Celestials?

While most of the galaxy writes them off as an extinct precursor race, ancient texts simply state that they "withdrew" from the galaxy. If so, where did they go? Both the Sith and Jedi have sometimes theorized that they "ascended" to a higher understanding of the Force, and some even claim that they monitor and maintain the balance between the light side and the dark side to this day...

If I had a guess, the "Force Gods" shown in Clone Wars might have been Celestials.

I'd like to think they just died, like the taung and rataka. Would make things far less "georgy" in how they present the universe to be as small as possible...
