He parried some blows, and took others. Pain was something he was used to; he was the Ruler of Hell, after all. Besides, he knew he could not be allowed to die. The cosmic balance would be thrown off. Even the Bible said he'd be imprisoned, not killed, whenceforth the world ended, and released after a certain point. So he fought on, landing hits when he could, parrying any attacks he could, ever patient. Either he'd win or he'd escape. He could not lose, so he could take his time.
