By the Way can I have the Order of Battle of sith forces on Yag'Dhul?

200 Republic ships divided into
10 Arrowhead carriers,
30 Hammerhead cruisers,
30 Backstabber frigates,
40 Trireme Corvettes,
40 Hammerhead Gunships,
30 long horn frigates,
20 Foray Blockade Runners.

Assuming full fighter load for the force, thats 1800 fighters/bombers.

Command ships are the Arrowheads, the lead ship of which is the Tharsus Vale, the one lead by the Jedi Lord in charge.

There are no major ships, only ground forces and heavy defensive positions such as anti-air weaponry and large planetary-based weapons capable of striking targets in orbit, such as the ion cannon on Hoth in ESB.

I believe Marie(Fury) is planning on leading a fleet to counterattack the invasion. By the time she gets there the moons will be almost completely taken and the planetary shields will have just collapsed or almost about to.

Do you want to calculate Republic fleet losses sustained by the defensive emplacements on the moons, Cale?

Subtract 10 Forays, 5 long horns, 3 Hammerhead cruisers, 8 Triremes 1 Backstabber, and 5 Hammer head gunships.
Subtract 108 fighters from the total as a result of these losses.

That brings it to:

168 Republic ships divided into
10 Arrowhead carriers,
25 Hammerhead cruisers,
29 Backstabber frigates,
32 Trireme Corvettes,
37 Hammerhead Gunships,
25 long horn frigates,
10 Foray Blockade Runners.

1692 fighters/bombers.

Correct.
Expect the outdated Forays to go down quickly in the fight. The Arrowheads did not engage in the fighting of course. The Triremes contain the primary ground troops so they suffered noticible losses in the retaking of the moons. Assume the marines on each lost Trireme survived, 300 each, and thats a good indicator of the ground troops securing the moon bases.

Large scale orbital defenses eh? I think I'll have to use my favorite mass-driver tactic. Orbital pinball. I'll explain later.

I think the 9th took most of them down already. All thats left is the shield.

I'll just have to take down the shields and the ground-based planetary defenses... turbolasers and ion cannons. Course if I'm lobbing rounds in from the edge of the planetary system I'm well out of range.

How many other planets are in the system? Do we know?

I still get to play orbital pinball by the way.

Just Yag'Dhul and its three moons, each one I think being the size of Earth's moon.

Darn orbital pinball works better when there are more planets in the system, I guess the moons should be sufficient.

I wonder when that complete Star wars atlas is comming out...

Anyway, I'm wondering how we've got a ground engagement already when the planetary shield is still up... Or is that on a moon?

Its on a moon.

Thats what I figured. If its the moon my Siege ships have started orbiting, you can call for a railgun fire mission. Nothing like rods from god.
