I'll be taking the USMLE step1 (US Medical Licensing Examination) as late as possible at the end of summer 2020 and will enter third year right after. Final exams and block tests are January-March; national board exams (NBMEs) x5 are March-May with a 6th optional retake of an NBME I took last year. Internal medicine clerkship is March-April, followed immediately by my CBSE+USMLE1 prep course integrated with my medical school (May 4th - Jun 18th, 9am-6pm six days a week) and CBS exam to pass second year (Jun 25th). My dedicated study period for the USMLE is July-August (minimum 5 weeks, recommended 8-12 weeks), with a test date between Aug 8th and Sept 12th. I will be unable to color from May 4th until after I take the USMLE step1; I may need to take an absence during this time. I am working on my current commitments and owed work. Currently, I retain my primary tech position but have dropped down to secondary colorist to reduce my responsibilities in light of feeling stretched out with commitments and the upcoming busy+stressful year with my upcoming licensing exam.
