The Omega Forces where dispatched as according to the plan. They where split up into small strategic groups called parties. Each was made up as basic heroes and then a more skilled lutenit(sp) guided them. They crowded every hall and room. The larger factions, Omega soldiers, celestials, and knights waited in larger rooms for a heavier defense.

In each room new gun torrents where put up and all traps where set triggered. Those that knew of the traps near them where ordered to stay put as they might fall into the traps themselves. Roderick was once again strongly secured.

With each reigiment of foot soldiers came a unit of archers, a few gorgan gunners, 1-3 dark knights, various collective dispatches, and other odd speacialist units depending on the unit. Everyone was forwarned of possible tarps and/or turrets on the room. When all the regiments where ready the attacks begun.

(God damn good stratigists commanding each side is going to make this BLOOODDYY!!! So Drew I don't really have anything to post so just start talking about the battle overall and don't get into spefic fights unless they are like commander vs commander or some other major event. Just start talking about whos winning and where and we will go back and forth with stratagy, sound good?))

The Dark Hand regiments dispersed through the maze of rooms that made up the first floor of Roderick. The Omega where noticeably stretched thin here and only had random gorilla units patched up all over to slow down the advancement. The Omega where trying to funnel all of the Dark Hand into one area so that they could use the goliath gun and once again destroy thousands of men in one blow.

The plan took action with little fights here and there. The Omega fought honorably, even against powerful odds. They held up lines after lines of the Dark Hand army and both sides lost few. It was almost a hold but every now and then, if someone on the Omega team died, they would retreat a bit. The Dark hand followed closely, trying to finish off their opponent. They met up with larger rooms and randomly large traps would be triggers. Large blades would shoot across the hall or the walls themselves would close. All kind of mayhem was uncovering itself. It wasn’t until later, after a lot of this had been going on for a few hours that the Dark Hand pressed against the next big room. This one lead to the elevators and stairs that got to the second floor.

The room was large, much bigger then the last big room the two factions fought over. It held it’s own armory, hospital, and many torrent stands. The watch towers let off their loud siren, alerting the rest that the Dark Hand had showed up. The doors where closed just before any soldier of the Dark hand could make it through and the torrents started off their constant flow up bullets.

The Dark Hand soldiers that first reached the room fled from fear as lines of guns opened up killing dozens. They moved out of the room into the surrounding corridors, most regiment commanders where furious that they where not massing outside the guns' ranges inside the actual room but Salin didn't want to chance the huge cannon reappearing and obliterating everything like last time.

Instead he had a line of beetles brought up to soak up fire while a unit of fire ants moved in under them to blow a hole in the wall. Salin knew that the fighting would be bloody through the hole but there was no avoiding it. He also hated that he had to ask Claire to send in more Collective that would mostly likely die, but as commander he had to make that descision. Claire had retreated from the front lines after the Knights destoryed all her children earlier that day. She wept for an hour before sleeping in her tent where she stayed presently.

Deciding to take the request to her personally Salin left the command base and went to her private tent. Inside he found her combing her hair with an emotionless express across her face. "Clair I have a request of you," he started.

"Is it not an order?" Claire asked in a monotone voice that resembled the ones used by the Collective ant lions.

"No Claire, I could not demand this of you after this mouring."

"So I was right; you do mean to ask more of my children to die. Back at my hive you said it would be different this time. You wouldn't throw my children's lives away like pawns."

Salin felt his honor hurt and unable to subdue his vampric rage lashed out at Claire, "You dare say I lied to you! I have sent many of my own men to death today! Do not for a second think that you are the only one scraficing here Claire! Not for a god damn second! I am sorry that your Collective excel at fighting in the caverns. I am sorry that so many have to die but there is no other practical way to get through the caverns! I know it hurts you to do this but it has to be done. More will die if I try and take this with my Gorgans. Collective will die going in after them and all the lives we lost today will be lost in vain. So if you are going to pout like the child you are then fine! But don't blame me when all your children who died this mourning are dead and unavenged because you couldn't handle the stress of command!"

Claire was reduced to tears at this point and bowed her head. "What is the plan Salin."

Salin slowly came down from his rage and put his arm around her shoulders, something he had seen humans do to comfert their own. "I'm sorry Claire; I lost my temper there and I shouldn't of have." He said using his smooth seductive vampric voice.

Claire looked up at him with a girm expression on her face, "No, no you're not. You don't feel sorrow for others Salin." She got up and went to join those in the command tent. Salin stood in the tent alone and whispered gently to himself, "No I felt it this mourning."

(so aside from character development the plan is to send beetles covering fire ants to breach the wall.)
PostPosted: Tue Apr 14, 2009 8:12 am
The attack was a success. Although it did end the lives of all of the fire ants, there was now a gapping whole in the next rooms defense. The Omega forged into positions as the remaining beetles plunged in on the Omega territory. The lines of soldiers inside stud their ground vigorously and funneled the beetles through spaces between the men. With their superior technique and fighting together, the beetles where disposed of and again the attention was taken to the entrance.

On both sides of the entrance, along the walls; gun handlers from Kine arrived to support the Omega. Giant air ships soared over the sky and engaged the air docked Gorgan ships. The war began in the air. Three giant battle ships came in support and many drop ships left their rank to land on Roderick’s air dome. The battalion of reinforcements hurried to their stations all over Roderick. These gun handlers all had guns very equal to the capability of the Gorgan’s but they all had saws on the front in case of up close battle.

In the nearing big room the gun handlers lined up and sentry. Their priority targets where those that entered through the hole in the wall. Anything that steeped into the room was mowed down with lines of bullets.

“Back into Spartan stance men. Keep them funneling through the room before they get any real chance to target any one. If they try to attack the lines it is easily a three to one edge for us to every individual. Hold strong men and don’t give them anything.” Tantlus shouted with a below of power. The men did as he said and formed lines all the way down the opposite wall, forcing all of the oncoming Dark hand to push through the room before they could really pull up an attack.

Salin watched as other less balanced people fell to the ground around him as rounds of explosives pelted the ships sheilds. The reinforcements where forcing their own relief troops to rush back to their docked airships to avoiding strafing runs of the smaller Omega fighters.

"God dammit people how did our radar not pick up those damn things coming?" He yelled as she ascend from his observation post to look at the holographic table displaying the situation inside the cliff. "Forget it, our air marshals shall handle them. Send word to all fighter flights to start deploying half their fighters at a time to cover our reinforcments appoarch to the entrance. I want the empty battle ships up and fighting within the next ten minutes! Do you hear me people?" The stratigists around him nodded and ran to give the order. "Now give me an update on the inside" he bellowed sitting in his command chair.

"Well sir we broke through their wall but they reinforced gunners so the sorties some of the rash commanders lead where anhilated before reaching the break." A tall orc said as he read from a clipboard.

"And their troop layout?" Salin asked looking down at the broken red line on the table symbalizing the breach.

"They are using what appears to be a Phalanx formation, moving all the their troops close together on the back wall. It appears their aim force us through the room's fire before we get a chance to hit them." he contunied.

Salin raised an eyebrow and scowled, it was a good tactic to use here, "And what are the calculations if we went with an all out charge through the breach?"

The orc ran his hand over his head wiping off sweat before we contunied, "Well sir if we did that our analysi indicates that we would lose an apporximent 50% casualties just reaching the lines and then we calculated as much as 80% to all falling at the lines. The overall success rate would be 10-20% sir."

Salin sighed, "I figured as much, well I want engineers to run in as many smoke bombs and grenades as possible to our troops. Smoke the main room and get rocket launcher gorgans in their. I want them to clear the top of the wall of all gunners and turrents. I don't care how many rockets we use, get all available ones to them right away. Tell them to use the muzzel flashed of the guns to see to the smoke and to relocate the second after they fire. Once we can stand in the god damn room with out getting mowed down I want portable mortars and grenade launched brought in, make it any portable able ordance actually. Launch it over the wall into their formation as more rockets and grenades are fired from gorgans head on. If they break formation get a formation of Dark knights to charge, but only if they are completly broke. With them comes our troops to mop up. If they choose to not break then we will windle them down with out mortars to the point of a simple charge will be enough to kill them."

The battle plans unfolded as instructed and the Dark Hand formations regrouped into more Gorgan heavy assaulters. They all moved to the front and began unloading large weaponry; rockets and grenades. The explosives met marks all over the main wall and cut open another hole. The Omega soldiers on the other side braced for what was to come and held their lines with great discipline. Tantlus watched what was coming and thought quickly of his next move. They still had the offensive strike and all they where doing now was constantly reacting to his work. He liked this and now could plan ahead.

“If all works according to the plan, then we have them for the count.” Tantlus said with a smirk and gripped his long sword and spear. He mounted up on his tyrant dragon and waited for his chance.

The Dark Hand gunners pushed forward more. Moving inward they began to toss their flash grenades and smoke bombs. The room dusted away in a thick smoke, ending all vision. All that could be seen was a quick flash of light that followed with an explosion. The Omega Soldiers regrouped, spreading out as comanded and then cutting off lines of Dark hand Gorgans as they attempted to move into the room. Everything was very unorganized except for the well formed up Gorgan soldiers. They waited just outside the entrence and lobbed grenade after grenade.

Up in the sky the Omega Aliance has:

3 Battleships- these giant flying guns are filled with reinforcements as well as smaller gunner ships. The total count of gunner ships per Battleship is 50/1. Then each has a constant flow of drop ships releasing more men on to the top floor of Roderick. Each Battleship has it’s main guns, the pulse cannon, and many other multiple torrents that surrounded them. The Kine ships where special because each of their weapons had a harpoon effect which pierces enemy ship force fields.

The gunner ships have two men working them. They have duel machineguns in the front with harpoon effect and then a rapid fire homing based rocket. Their wings where based on a four way wing system that ran perpendicular above the ship. On each wing they had counter spinning propellers. The cockpit and weapon system was all underneath the wings.

The battle started off with the 3 battleships aligning and firing off rounds of their pulse cannons. They shot about once every 5 seconds and did massive damage if they actually got a straight hit. The three staggered their lines. Each ship deployed ¼ of their ships in waves. They where going to eat away Dark Hand reinforcements.

((That was very confusing and I have no idea what the lines are for either battle. Mind making them a litle bit clearer? Idk if you understood my plan but it was to not charge past the wall but to lob expolsives over the wall into their formation. Also what do I have for the air battle?))
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:22 pm
((yeah don’t worry…I mentioned that…you guys aren’t really going in but I did say something along those lines….Ill fix it next post.))

The Gorgan fleet was sitting nicely with 1 battle ship, two star ports, many of fire ships to equal out the Kine fleet, and a mother ship. All with extreme gun power and their special abilities hijacker jokkies. Their simple fighter ships have the ability to launch Gorgan goblins at enemy ships in an attempt to hijack them. This could easily offset the number of forces in a massive battle.

Battle ship is similar to the Kine battle ships. A star port is like a flying armory that brings reinforcements and other ships into the field. You can make up all of the specifics.

The Omega soldiers finally found their brake and pushed a wave of sudden cavalry through the open holes. They where met with some heavy gun fire but once past could easily run over the gorgan gunners. Once the cavalry got through the sprinted into the Dark Hand lines, splitting everything into chaos and taking many lives. They pushed as far as they could until stuck and had to engage in armed combat with the soldiers waiting outside. Once the Gorgans where interrupted the Kine gun handlers stepped in and fiered all around as they flooded the hall with groups of spear men in front of them. The celestial army had an edge and where trying to force a retreat.

Salin sat in his command chair on the mothership as reports flooded in of the two battles, the one in the air and inside the mountain.

"The air battle is undesisive right now. Both of us are deploying waves of fighters and not to many losses on either side. No serious damage done the mother ship or battle ship. Unfortunatly the same can be said to their battleships as well my lord." An attendent said as he read off a data sheet.

The other attendent stepped forward and looked nervous, "Now quite as good news on the inside my lord. The artillary lines where repelled and the omega charged with full force after sending a cavalry wave in. The cavalry wave devstated a chunk of the attacking force, maybe 15-20% is our current estiment. Our soldiers under General Zaught have stopped their charge and are holding them at bay in the corridor outside the elevator entrance. General Splitjaw is moving up with a couple reserve units to reinforce General Zaught. Generals Crane and Atias are still in reserve at our fortified camp inside the base, they are awaiting orders before moving out."

Salin sighed and stared at the attendent, "You are dismissed both of you." The two attendents saluted and left the command center. Salin leaned back into his seat and thought of the situation he faced, he had a huge air battle going on just above his head, and they where dropping off reinforcements to trap the soldiers inside the mountain from reinforcements. On top of that he had a major battle raging on the inside so he can't pull many units back from that to pincher the flanking units.

He sat up and looked at his holograph table, "Move Generals Crane and Atias out of the mountain. Tell General Atais to carve an ally out for General Crane to escape and get Crane and his men onto boarding ships. I want a full scare boarding operation underway when he gets here. If they can't break him out in an hour it is to commence without him under Gorgan commander Garluk." He paused and looked at Claire who had came to see what the expolsions where, "Claire I need you to send your remaining Collective units to the inside and have them asisst in pushing back the Omega offensive."

Claire nodded and said, "I will lead them myself, the Omega will pay dearly for what they did to my children!" She slammed her fist onto an oak wood table next to her, the table splintered.

Salin shook his head sternly, "No Claire, you must return to the hive and start producing more soldiers. My men are dieing as fast as your were and the Omega will soon deplete us, especially with their reinforcemetns. I will send to Impetus for more but I highly doubt he has any to spare."

Claire went to protest but Salin was in front of her before she could open her mouth, "I don't have time for a bratty teenage queen to argue with about orders. My men are dying by the second in and out of this god damn mountain and I need to get back to directing it so some might actually see tommorrows light! Is that clear?" He said shaking the very soul of Claire. She nodded weakly and turned to go gather her things.

As Claire left an ace pilot Krod Bell walked in. Even though he was a mere human Krod has established himself as a pilot that matched the Kine and Gorgan a like, and this was the person who was going to lead the fighters for Salin. "I have arrived my lord!" He said kneeling to Salin

"Awww Krod Bell my fighter commander, I welcome you! Now rise!" He said egarly. Salin was throughly glad that Impetus had parted with one of the best fighter pilots in the entire Dark Hand fleet. "Now you know the situation. We have Kine pilots all over the air. They have one and only one mission today and that is to kill our ground troops and stop reinforcements from reaching the inside of hte mountain. If they succed then undoubtably all troops inside the mountain will perish without a fighting chance. Every single one of their lives will be in vain and the Dark Hand will mourn." He then took a pause for empahsis, "YOU Krod Bell are now the savior of the Dark Hand war effort! You are leading the men that will make or break this this battle. The lives of every single soldier here is in your hands and your heart." HE smiled and paused yet again, "And you know what? I believe you can win this for us. You are the best that the Dark Hand has to offer. You can the light of truth and perfection onto these misguided infeidels! You have the prayers of our mighty Lord Joa Boo in your heart! Your fighter is your golden charoit to ride into the stars. In it you are the very perfection that the Dark Hand strives to enlighten onto all the oppressed people in the world. Now go my child and show these Omega the true wrath of the Dark Hand and our Lord Joa Boo.!"

The cavalry march was a waste. While it did buy time for the Omega soldiers still residing in the larger room, it was a hasty move and came with harsh consequences. The run was dispatched to soon and ended in a total annihilation of the entire count. The Omega horse drawn men fought valiantly and took many lives but in the end their efforts did not add up to the casualties.

Following the first failure only came another. The open lines of gun handlers and pike men had no reinforcements nor did they have any chance in retreating. They held what little ground they could before being over run by the mass of Dark Hand soldiers flooding in.

The Dark hand had orders to take it slow and keep spread out to avoid big traps but at this point there seemed to be no threat of any big time countering attack. They had the Omega Alliance on the second floor in full flee and they chased them down with the great battle roars only mad men from the Dark Hand could produce. Their very souls carried through their yells into the halls and cheered for a great victory for the Dark Hand.

Tantlus ordered the full retreat and got very Omega soldier still moving out and unto the next floor. There he would be ready to make another great stand. He was fully reinforced by the Kine soldiers and held up at least four main rooms with heavy defenses. While the Dark Hand now contained the second floor, he was almost sure they would never prevail over the third.

“My mistress. We have bad news.” An informed strategist spoke up before Talim in her throne room. She braced herself against the broken throne and looked down upon the meager man giving the updates. “Tantlus ordered a full retreat. He has vacated the second floor and moved everything onto the third. They have a good stand but the Dark Hand comes ever nearer.” The man continued. He flinched after finishing his words.

Talim breathed in deeply with a heavy hearted emotion escaping. Furry building but she kept composed as any Omega leader should. “And what of our Kine friends, how goes the sky warfare?” She asked pleasantly, holding back so much fury that the sky outside her throne room turned black and forced a strong wind to pick up.

“The news looks good. Everything is in place to commence our mission. We are holding them up well and look forward to another batch of Kine battle ships to help. They are still only about a day away. “ the informer continued, answering Talim with a much happier tone. Talim seemed to smile at this and gave the orders to continue on with the plans.

The strategist was right. The upper hand was most defiantly in the Omega’s Favor. They had broken up the fleets of fire ships down to groups of five and flew in x formation laterally. Each ship aimed for similar targets and crossed back and forth behind one another while flying.((I don’t expect you to understand what I’m trying to have going on, it’s very complicated and I can’t think of the best way to describe it. Hopefully it’s just not a bunch of meaningless nonsense that wouldn’t ever actually work))

The first focus was to take down those star ports and most of the main battle ship fire was aimed their. The huge pulse guns fired off one after another, braking against the shields. Mean while the smaller fighter ships where headed their to fire threw the shields with their harpoon guns and take out the seh8ild all together. With that gone it would be a quick take down. This all unfolded in waves.

Finally the BFG, the thing that the Omega where hoping to get into operation was ready and sprung from out of a hanger on the roof of Roderick. It’s massive gun opened up and tore into the nearest hot spot, which just so happened to be the Gorgan Battle ship. The pure power of the gun took out the entire shield and cut through parts of the wall. Nothing to series but another hit like that and it’s history.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:36 pm
The ground units now recovering the entire entrance to Roderick found a good foot hold against the walls that still stood as part of the outside base. What was still structurally sound made a good place for men to unite and hold in groups until there was enough on ground to make an actual effort. The Kine soldiers where very good in combat and was trained in fighting every other race other then human. They where a country known to hate all other races and mastered skills that specifically targeted all others. These soldiers where known as the Kine autonauts. They filled the surface of Roderick’s floor level just in front of the entrance and slowed down all reinforcements to the inside of Roderick.

The Dark Hand soldiers holding the ground that had just been flooded out where forced to pull back and waited on safer ground outside the walls. Their first priority was to get the siege weapons that where used to take the ground the first time back up and running. They where sure to take it back…..again…..

Something was different this time. As the Dark Hand mounted the siege weapons and let out an onslaught of heavy demolition, something seemed to pick up the oncoming missiles and redirect them to target less areas. It was obvious to them as they looked up and saw the storm above Roderick building. Talim had cast a tornado spell that kept a field of protection over the area. The storm was still building and created very difficult visibility for everything in the air. Ships on both sides where crashing into things and miss firing.

Salin growled in rage as the reports of the kine soldiers and tornado came in, "Where is Crane and Atias!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, "I told them to fight and ally out! They better be fighting for dear life of I swear to god when I get my hands on those two slackers!" He babbled on and on with curses and ragings about the recent developments. After a couple minutes of venting he worked himself to a calm and the attendents told of the good news, "Generals Crane and Atias have just now personally arrived at the entrance of the mountain and are leading sorties out of the caverns to retake the entrance. The fighting is reported to be fierce but it doesn't look as if the fighting will end any time soon."

Salin sat down and took a huge gulp of blood from his canteen, "Tell them to focus the sorties on one spot. Tell them to break out through the Kine soldiers and to hold the opening for dear life! Tell them that the soldiers on the inside lives depend on that opening."

Salin then turned and opened a open channel with the all forces, "Cildren of Joa Boo and soldiers of the Dark Hand this is the test of perfection! Our faith and resolve is being put to the test today. We have met great sucess inside the moutain and have obtained two of four floors inside. We are nearly there and victory is in sight! But now the trials of faith have begun. The b*****d Omega have flown in reinforcements and they are shamelessly destorying medbays, kitchens, and other noncombat positions to hinder and torture our efforts. These bastards care not for the noncombatants they kill as they do not care for the innocent and weak. But us the Dark Hand care for all who seek protection and guidance and now it is time fellow children to uphold our oaths to Lord Joa Boo. He has givin us much since joining him and we grow ever prosperous but these Omegas are a canceorus tumor that needs to be cut out from the affected area to heal. Now comes our chance soldiers of the golorious, we must but stand firm and resolute and win this battle. Fear not the unholy light that they try and rain down their narrowminded false sense of justice with. Have no mercy for the fanatic fools and kill without remorse. Killing these ingrates is not a sin, it is not evil, killing the Omega is a service to all oppressed peoples in this world. With each death the perfection we all strive for comes closer to each and everyone of us, now children its time we start to obtain the perfection that we have longed and labored for. When Lord Joa Boo remakes this world in perfection you shall be among the first to enjoys in the sweet suclent rewards taht it brings. Each death of ours will be mourned but each death is a martyr, a sacrafice that generations to come will remember and cherish! FEAR NOT THE ENEMY FOR THEY ARE WEAK AND FOOLISH! FORWARD TO PERFECTION! FIGHT VALOROUSLY FOR THE DARK HAND! LONG LIVE LORD JOA BOO!" he bellowed insipring the troops.

After he finished he flipped to a private channel with Krod, "Krod are you there?"

Krods voice came on through static from the tornado or the electrical waves emitted by the battle overhead, "Yes my lord, I am here, great speech!"

"Yes, yes, now Krod I need you to take all your aces and best troops and take out that BFG."

"Yes ofcourse sir."

"No I mean at any cost! That gun must not be allowed to fire again for it will surly mean doom to hundreds. Do you understand me?"

"Yes sir loud and clear!"

"Good now go make me proud!" Salin closed the channel and turned to adress the soldiers waiting for the third floor. "Have the hold position and moved up the camp to the second floor! Keep the guard up on all sides incase they have pockets of resistance still holding out. I want the entrance ot the third floor fortified as hard as possible. I want thousands to die if they attack."
