The Super Bowl was so exciting and fun to watch. Haven't seen such a close game in the Super Bowl in a long time.
Couple of more days till I'm old err..older! *then there was much rejoicing* yay!
My b-day is coming up on the 5th.

Manda_Tifa So I went picture-taking with the fam again Saturday...and it was fun. Not as fun as last time, I didn't shoot anything at all. But I did get a new sweater from this rockin' store in the middle of nowhere called the Forget Me Not Shop. I saw this GREAT scene I wanted to photograph. It was, literally, picture-perfect. It was a snow-covered brook lined with snow-covered pine trees, and the sun was shining, and everythin was just right. I just had to get my camera down there. It was a little ways off the road, so I thought I should scope out the best angle for it before I dragged the equipment down. I was standing on top of a giant pile of snow created by the snow-plows, and I figured I'd just scoot on down to see where to get my shot from. FWOOMP! Next thing I know, I'm up to my armpits in fluffy, wet snow. Deciding that this probably wasn't the best idea after all, I try to turn back, but at that point there was NO climbing back up that hill. Every step I tried to take forward only sunk me in deeper into the snow. Eventually my mom had to drag me out by both arms. It was crazy. And hilarious. I just wish mom had though to take a picture of THAT so the day wouldn't have been such a loss. sweatdrop Awww, poor Mandie! At least you're all warm and dry now ^_^ And I miss that little store you mentioned... pity it's such a long drive to get out there! It's snowing again! I don't mind so much... except it was almost 60 degrees on Sunday. Which was nice because I got to run around outside without a coat on! ^^

I want springtime now. sad Ah well....at least if nothing else, snow is pretty. So drama at work today!!! My coworker's ex-family has been harrassing her ALL DAY LONG apparently, and I came in and was gonna have none-of-it. So the next family member that calls just HAPPENED to be her daughter, who I can't stand, so I got to give her what-for for calling my coworker and harrassing her at work, and the spoiled little girl was like "F-you, b****, I'm gonna get you fired!" To which I openly laughed and she hung up on me. So then Karen called the police to get them to stop harrassing her, and good times were had by all. And I'm STILL giggling over her thinking she can get me canned. Honestly, I haven't had a good laugh like that related to work in a long while. mrgreen

Okay, so...Combined with how bad I slept last night, I had perhaps the worst call I've ever had to endure in my entire time working at this place. I really wish I could talk about it, but I'm not allowed. All I can say is that it really shook me and really made me lose my concentration for a good while after that. Ugh...And my coffee this morning was too nutty! I'm never having Hazelnut again

It's my main job. I work for Captel. It is a call center of sorts, but I don't speak to anyone directly. I turn phone conversations into text via voice recognition for people who are hard of hearing. I do it live, as in, as the other person is speaking and they technically don't know I'm there. Some know how the service works. I signed a contract with the FCC upon taking this job stating that I can never disclose any information from a call to anyone, whatsoever. So yeah, be as curious as you want, I can't tell you, or else I would get fired and potentially go to prison sweatdrop Well, probably not that last part

Others..do not. I didn't work at one, but a woman who I know has a hearing dog, said that the things people say on the phone to her amazes her that they would say it when they knew (or she thought they knew) someone else was listening.

This wasn't like that, it was just...It was heartbreaking is all I can say Aww....And you're so sweet, too, Affy. It must be so hard to distance yourself from a job like that.... sad Yeah, and since it was a WebCaptel call, I immediately got more calls after it was done. WebCaptel calls suuuuck. For most calls, if you're on for a while, the system will automatically queue you back a bit so you don't immediately get another call, depending on how busy it is. If you're on a call for 30 minutes, this will often times give you 3 or 5 minutes to just chill before your next call comes in. WebCaptel on the other hand, ******** with the system. When you get one of those, it makes the system think you've been out of queue for however long the call was unless you logout and log back in. Since they keep track of how much time you've been logged in and stuff, down to the exact times, you can't just log in and out yourself when one is done. The rule is, if you get a WebCaptel call, if it goes over 10 minutes, you can call for a supervisor who can write off some time for you to log out and log back in. Otherwise, you just have to suck it up and hope your next few calls are sorta long to knock that queue out. Of course, I will sometimes aux out to go use the bathroom if I feel like it in those cases, but you have to kind of trick the system to let you since when a WebCaptel call is done, it doesn't give you any chance to do it. You have to open a Trouble Ticket yada yada All in all, I hate WebCaptel calls. Most of them are nothing special, but once in a while you get a conference call through them, and those are the worst.
