"Girl."Drake said trying hard not to laugh at the the stupid blonde infront of him. "Well there is a Hufflepuff in the making." he said then looked at the kitten.

"You ok with going back in the hood, Suki?" the kitten melwed loudly. "Fine a compramise my shoulder." the kitten purred making Drake laugh.

He sat the kitten on his shoulder who then proceeded to the top of his head. "Promise to stay put." the kitten mewled again. Drake sighed and rolled his eyes placing the uncompliant kitten in his hood anyway.

"Just in case you get scarred." he took a string from his pocket and gave it to the small kitten. "There play with that." the kitten mewled again and Drake sighed. "Fine." he finally took the kitten from his hood and carried it in his arms making a note to put a holding charm around where ever he was to stay so it couldn't follow him during the day.

"She is a handful I'll say that much." Drake said as they aproched the gargoyle. Drake bowed low to it and smiled. "Everything has a purpous thank you for being here as a guard wise one." The gargoyle nodded slightly and Drake rose from his bow.

"Very smart child." the gargoyle said.

Drake smiled "Just the same courtosy I would want in your position. And sorry about the other girl." he said the kitten mewled in his arms. The gargoyle made a slight scoff like nosie.

"Let her tell me." it said acknowledging the passage. "Go, the others are waiting." Drake nodded smiling at Tay, Blaire and Luke.

That was simple. He noted in his mind as he went back to stroking the kitten in his arms.

Shadow followed everyone into the Courtyard. He wondered when they were finally going to actually enter the school. It seemed like they were just trying to keep them out for as long as possible. 'Well, more time before I have to be around more people,' he thought to himself. Shadow never felt comfortable around people unless he got to know them fairly well.

Walking further with the loosely knit crowd of first years, she head the lady leading them all greet someone. Phi also heard a cold grunt in reply.
Soon after, she could hear the sounds of interested youngins and even a few shrieks of surprise. Phi could not help but try to walk with a bit more brisk - weaving around a few people - towards what she assumed to be the source of all the reactions. She dashed a bit further away from her group of ex-boat-mates and her dark eyes quickly fell on the horned, stone creature. Its stern face and vivid scowl made her stare. But it was its flaring nostrils and moving glare that impressed her.
Oh, how she enjoyed magic.

As they scurried after the groundskeeper and into the entrance courtyard, Colton saw a flare of excitement in Phi's eyes at the sound of a gargoyle, and watched with amusement as she slipped away from their group and towards the source of her commotion. Colton had came into contact with gargoyles before, but he crept through the crowd to get a look anyway. As he broke the bordering barrier of students that stood between him and the stone mass, his eyes widened for a short moment, marveling at the talking architecture. This creature was much larger than any he had ever seen, not to mention that it had a very cocky personality and rough sense of humor. The gargoyle made a wise crack about his buzz cut, which gave birth to a grim frown on Colton's no longer joyous face.

Stepping away from the sea of pupils, he rejoined the small gathering of students that he had ridden the boat with. "He ain't all that he's cracked up to be." His words were a faded mutter that were swept away with the night's wind as it continued to grow considerably darker. At this point, Colton was even more eager to enter the castle and get this show on the road.

Jane followed the ground keepers excitedly. From what she had seen Jane liked the grounds-keeper and hoped it get to know her better. Jane had always seemed to get along easier with older people. Everyone had always said it was because she was more mature then children her age, at least muggle children her age. People here seemed to be a bit more refined. Except Blaire it had seemed.

Luke listened to the two boys talk about the kitten in the blonds hand. He liked cats but to him they were a bit high maintenance lovely to look at but a chore to keep. He looked to the side and tipped his head as they passed the gargoyle. It took him a moment to realize that the blond boy was no longer with Tay and him so Luke stopped and looked back. He spotted him back talking to the stone figure. Luke felt that it would be rude to leave the boy behind so he decided to wait. Oy this is why I don't like to associate with people they always impede my progress in some way it really is a bother he thought before looking back at the boy who was now smiling in their direction. Maybe it isn't so bad to have a few friends though Luke thought, the word friends rather new to him. Luke smiled back and waved for the blond to hurry and join them again.

Drake ran to catch up with the others careful not to disturb Suki in his arms "It was something my sensai said that I should do right before I left to come here." Drake said waging a finger in the kittens face letting it bat at it.

His eyes showed age of hundreds of years, before he smiled and the look was washed away.

Luke are you organizing everything in my brain or are you trying to keeping the fact you've been pitaling in my mind for about three minutes to yourself. He thought with a sigh, though he was use to it sensai did the same thing during training.

Make you ora smaller upon entering and not even the teachers will notice. Who taught you? Drake questioned, as far as he knew only his godfathers family knew how to do it.

He smiled, I promise to keep it between us.

He Turned back to Tay. "Soooo when are they going to let us in already." He growned slightly before giving the large doors a death glare with red eyed slits.

The doors did nothing as if to mock him. He pouted slightly then looked at his feet no wanting to draw attention to his blood red eyes. Stupid Warlock, he thought forgeting Luke was in his head. He went back to scratching Suki's belly and counting in his mind.

Blaire continued through the courtyard, making his way with the other first-years to the gargoyle's perch. He had initially intended to quietly continue past the animated beast, holding his care-free charade. But the creature had the gall to scoff at him. Him. He quickly brandished his wand. "How dare y-!" The first-year exclaimed, interrupting himself as he started toward the statuesque monstrosity, "Let's see how you like a confundus jinx!" His face ablaze with a wicked glare.

The creature seemed to be insulting and scarring any first year it could. Its cold stone eyes even landed on Phi and it flared its nostrils and bared its teeth, muttering with a grim smirk about who set her head on fire.
Right after, it glared beside her and she heard it laugh and snide about a buzz cut. She turned around to see that Colton had caught up with her a bit without her knowing.
From the grim frown on the boy's face, Phi could see he was not nearly as amused with the gargoyle as she was. She tried to stifle behind her mouth, hoping the boy didn't think she was laughing at him or along with the gargoyle. It was merely the presence of such a scowl in the place where she had seen so many small smiles and smirks during their journey thus far.
She patted his arm, a gesture she hoped he would take for what she intended; that she saw nothing wrong with his hair. And with him she returned to their small group.

Drake sighed thrusting Suki at Tay hold this for a second. The kitten mewled at Drake as he steped infront of Blaire. Holding out his hands infront of the stone creature.

"No." was all he said, his eyes and alarming shade of yellow as he said this. "Your beautiful Blaire but a pretty face and a nice ar....bum is not warth getting detention for. " he walked slowly toward her with his arms still out.

"And the spell will only deflect back to you, I promise. Unless you want to hit me, and truly I don't think you want to try that. So lower your wand and lets go, besides this thing is out doors everynight even during the rain. Currently your about to find out where you bed is indoors." He said looking into the boys eyes.

Drakes eyes stayed that yellow untill he got to Blaire and was only a foot and a half away.

"If you want to hit something hit me, but don't curse animated stone it isn't good for your health." he said and finally closed his eyes peparing to get punched mentaly.

Luke gave a wicked smile in Drakes direction "Haven't a clue what your talkin about", he said aloud to the boy as he watched him try unsuccessfully to open the doors. Luke leaned back against the wall and watched as the others made their way past the gargoyle. He found it rather entertaining that the thing had not taken a disliking to the three boys but the others just seemed to piss it off even more. Growing bored with the aghast responses Luke opened his satchel in an attempt to curve his boredom.
He glanced up in time to see the uber blond boy whip out his wand and almost lose it. Seems he has a short fuse Luke noted as he watched Drake try to diffuse the boys temper. Luke wanted to just sit back and watch the show like he normally would but he felt.. well that was it he didn't know what to call it, the sensation was new to him. All he knew was that he didn't want Drake to be on the receiving end of that wand. Luke closed his hand around something in the bag and drew it forth as he walked towards the two boys. "Lollipop" , he asked in a seemingly bored manor as he stopped right beside the other blond boy and held out a strawberry watermelon sucker? Bloody Hell he thought quickly letting no emotion show on his face as he quickly kicked himself for offering away his last on hand lollipop. Good cause he kept reminding himself as he waited to see what would happen next.

The castle grew closer with every step they took towards the entrance courtyard in front of the main doors, and Danielle's heartbeat seemed to accelerate with her escalating excitement. She watched as the other first years approached the stone gargoyle that Eleanor had mentioned, stifling giggles as it remarked on their appearance or disposition. When her turn came to pass the creature, she could only imagine what it would say about her. It seemed to take a moment to look her over before not saying anything and simply giving a hmph and a smirk. Danielle blushed, wondering what exactly the creature was thinking that it wouldn't say out loud. Shaking it off, she continued forward, pausing to see what the gargoyle had to say about her new friend. Before long, the group had arrived before the castle's entrance and the decision of their future was only moments away.

First Year

The small band Ronyo had been privileged to accompany along their first walk through Hogwarts had been an enjoyable one to say the most and a slight learning experience to say the least. The journey had taken them up a few stairs and now in the presence of the infamous gargoyle. Ronyo's mother had talked briefly about the grumpy statue and the remarks it liked to through at the new students.

Seeing several students scatter from the harsh words, a few laugh until the gargoyle went after them, and a select few managed to steer completely away from the thing. Seeing both Colton and Phi end up being targets Ronyo found small pieces of things to remember about the two. Colton's hair, and more likely his reason for having it, seemed to be a minor point of contention, and Phi seemed capable of shrugging off the remarks.

Hearing a familiar voice suddenly become quiet irate caused Ronyo to turn and see Blaire produce his wand and point it at the gargoyle. It was likely a futile act as the gargoyle would have been used to such acts or even warded incase some student decided to be destructive. Regardless Ronyo did manage to make his way slight behind and to the side of Blaire as he showed a much less in control version of himself.

"You know getting upset at simple words does not help hold whatever image you are going for, and I would even wager a guess that the staff would not like you jinxing the school property," The gargoyle did turn to Ronyo and remarked about his long hair and questioned his gender but Ronyo paid no attention to the statue, "If a simple remark from an old gargoyle gets you this riled up what will you do when real problems come about? Food for thought yes?"

Ronyo had no intention of debating the idea with Blaire for he had a feeling most of what he said would either be a well rehearsed line or a half-truth seeking to turn the question around on Ronyo. At this point Ronyo would likely regard Blaire the same he had regarded the gargoyle. With his small endeavor over Ronyo sought out Colton and Phi once again and nodded to the two.

"I would take it if one of us sat in the same spot for over a few centuries a slight temper and bag of remarks would come easily. It seems to enjoy going after all the hairstyles bobbing about does it not? Maybe it's just jealous."

Drake looked into Luke's eyes and nodded feeling as if it was the boys best attempt at a silent plea. He looked in the boys eyes for a moment after finding what he was looking for he steped out of the way of the blonde and looked was a mere foot from Luke when he did so. He smiled and took the sucker unraping it and smiled.

Watermelon. He thought before sticking the candy in Luke's mouth. You keep it, though I love them but it is your last. He turned back to the other blonde who seemed to not want to listen.

"There is a barrier around it, you twit. You will be hit in its place." He then looked back at Luke. "Thank you." he said not knowing what to do from there, he pulled Luke back with him to geet the kitten, who mewled at the blonde.

He place the kitten back in his hood, who then place its front paws on his shoulder and purred.

"Sorry about that." he said looking into Lukes eyes again. Promise to be friend no matter what happens in there. he thought holding out a hand to him.

Jessica continued up the long stairwell attempting to catch up to the other students. With a flushed cheeks, the normally pale redhead just begins to crest the top of the long stairs with her grey owl, Bubo, in his cage. Just reaching the top, the young leans on the railing with her free hand attempting to catch her breath.

The insulting gargoyle commented at Jessica Sassareth, "Now here's one that looks like death warmed over."

Rolling her eyes, Jess slowly turned her green eyed gaze at the gargoyle in question, "You don't know the bloody half of it, you stone-beaked.... Oh... You're not bloody worth it."

Slowly, tried to make her way on into the courtyard, ignoring the gargoyle.
