Nefertari & Ulimi Personality: She's going to be the type of lioness to sell herself short. She's a beautiful cub, and will grow to be an even more beautiful lioness, but she won't see herself that way. She'll see herself as very undeserving of her family, and the lesser of the twins. Looking up to her sister for the strength she needs, she will lean on her as much as she can, until the time comes where it's time to stand on her own two feet. At which time, things will begin to get quite interesting in her life. Although nothing will really differ in the way she is treated from her siblings, she feels different, and a little envious of her siblings who actually look like thier Mother. She may even get confused from time to time, and go to the two of them for advice or a pick me up - or anything a Mommy gives that she doesn't get elsewhere. Although her Mother is gone - Jalouzi feels a strong spiritual connection to her, that she can't really explain. As her life goes on, she will find objects that she feels her Mother has touched, or been near to strengthen her already odd connection.
Staying or Going? Going
Prompt Number: 2
Prompt Response: Jalouzi sunk into her contemplative stance, as she stared into the distance in front of her, though her mind was elsewhere and she noticed very, very little of what was actually happening around her. No, she was much more involved in what her destiny was. Her Father had been commenting for quite some time that he was preparing for the return to the pride, and the time was upon them to decide whether they would return as well. Though, he seemed to be encouraging them to go out on their own. Almost like he didn't want them there... Though that couldn't be the case, and she knew it! If her father hadn't wanted her, why on Earth would he have stayed with them for so very long? Jalouzi shook herself from the nonsense thought process and into one more serious. Would she be following her Father back? Or setting out on her own?
In truth, she was beyond excited at the prospect of striking out on her own, and finding her own path. Rather than being stuck in the rut, her Father's life typically would have placed her in. He had told them of the pride before, and the ideals intrigued her greatly. But, she couldn't help but wonder if a pride, held together by large, large families was truly the place for her. Could she really reach the potential she deserved? Or be stuck under another Banu's shadow, as she was her twin sister's? She hoped not, and wanted nothing more than to be able to see her own shadow for once. The prospect brought a smile to the zoned out lioness's face. As she thought about hiding in another's shadow, she thought of her Mother, the lioness she had never met, but felt connected to in a spiritual way. Had she been locked under another's shadow? Would she understand Jalouzi's choice to strike out on her own? The wind blew softly past the cub, leaving her with a sense of strength, she would take that as a yes.
But what of her family members, back in the pride? Would
they understand her choice? She couldn't even remember them, would they remember her? Much less care of her life choices? Not a single one had been to visit them, in their time in the roguelands, it almost seemed as though they could care less. That left a bit of an ache in the cub's heart, but she inhaled deeply and put it out of her mind. Her Mother had given her, her blessing, and she would take full advantage of it. Now all she had to do, was tell Dad.
