Name of SoA: Pleione
Meaning: In Greek myth, a nymph that was patroness of sailing and was sometimes associated with water; in botany, a genus of orchid; in astronomy, a star in the constellation of Taurus
Gender: Female
Appearance: Black, with a starry pattern on her neck and back like her mom’s mane that goes down to about her ribcage. Markings like her dad’s layered overtop this (like constellations are being mapped out is the idea). A particularly bright star over her ‘third eye.’ Teal eyes and tail-tuft, and gray inner ears and nose.

Personality: Pleione is a sweet cub, but can come across as odd or flighty. She has a fascination with the night sky that can only be rivaled by her love of flora. She often refers to the stars as “sky flowers,” and flowers as “land stars.” As a cub and juvenile, she’ll complain about her feeling like an outsider and misfit. Pleione will spend much of her free time learning about plants and charting the patterns and movements of astral bodies. She’ll find a small cave that she will declare “hers” and map out constellations on its walls. She will also keep small plant samples here, or just outside.
Having felt out of place most of her life, her Ba'Ushufo will be a source of great anxiety when she approaches it. In her mind, this will be when she’s supposed to become a “real” member of the Bahari’Mtoto, and she won’t be sure she can handle it. Around this time, Pleione will begin to act out (never anything malicious, but she might poke a jellyfish or something). Just before her Ba’Ushufo, she’ll break down under the pressure of it all and run away. But after some travel and soul searching, she’ll return in late adolescence or early adulthood. It will be at this point that Pleione will be sure that the Bahari’Mtoto is where she belongs.
Any additional requirements that the family has: Not evil, and she will come back and stay in the pride from there on out!
