"Sweet," Night said, picking up the pokeball. For some reason, she had the strangest urge to lift the ball above her head and shout her victory. Thankfully, the hybrid had sense enough to quell that particular urge and, instead, simply pocketed the ball and began making her way out of this accursed mall.

The next time Sub caught up with his Pokemon he would find it engaged with what really seemed like a fight to the death, the Alolan Raticate tumbling around with a Yungoos, the smaller of the two attempting to bite down on the fat rat's neck but when it did all it got was a bunch of fur and a little bit of fat. This time Sub didn't say much, he would let his Pokemon settle this one its self.

Eventually Pendulum would kick the Yungoos off it, finally displaying some of its fighting prowess as it then executed a Quick Attack, the rat kicking off the ground and sending its self flying into the much smaller Pokemon. The Yungoos would lose its footing and tumble back a ways but it too would quickly recompose its self and fight back with a Tackle of its own, however much slower.

Pendulum would have plenty of time to plan for the impact as she let the tiny Loitering Pokemon slam into her gut, Pendulum shaking it off a proceeding to grab a hold of the Normal type and deliver a nasty Bite to it. The Yungoos would flail around in her jaws for a bit as it seemed like defeat was truly at hand but the crafty Pokemon would find a way out of as it executed a Sand Attack, conjuring up a spray of sand from somewhere and delivering it to Pendulum's eyes.

The mouse would promptly let go of Yungoos who would immediately flee, detecting that this wasn't a winnable battle. By the time Pendulum had rubbed its eyes clean and could see again her mortal enemy was gone, the rat just giving an annoyed hiss before lumbering off again, this time Sub close behind. "You'll get it next time." He reassured the rodent, though she still ignored him.

The trainer and Pokemon pair would finally make it to the mall's fountain which while still filled with water it was very stagnant now and just gross. Across the way they both spotted a small fox-like Pokemon sniffing away at puddles of water, looking for a good one to drink from. Pendulum would shock Sub this time as she didn't rush after the Pokemon and attempt to small, fight, or eat it. Apparently the Raticate had something of an honor code as she refused to attack a Pokemon that was just looking for a drink. That was funny to Sub though, a Dark-type having any type of honor. "There something wrong with you?" He asked his rat who still did not respond. Man it was going to take a lot to get her to open up to him. At least she wasn't like Landor used to be, he was pretty bad with the cold shoulder.

While things were pretty calm right now they would not remain that way as shortly after they passed up the Fennekin an old 'friend' of Pendulum's would make an appearance as the Yungoos jumped out of a pile of old moldy shirts and pounced on the Alolan Raticate. After getting a good grip on the fat rat the Yungoos would sink its teeth into her blubbery back as it executed a Super Fang, Pendulum hissing in pain as she flailed around with her stubby arms to try and get the annoying thing off of her.

"That's not going to work, Pendulum." Sub told the wildly flailing rodent. It was actually funny to watch her run around with the Yungoos latched on but being a good trainer he knew he couldn't just stand by and watch. "Try using Quick Attack, let's see how good its grip really is." He suggested to the rodent.

Much to the trainer's surprise Pendulum would obey as she dashed forward, picking up more and more speed by the second as she began to run in circles. Slowly but surely the Yungoos' grip would begin to loosen, first its hands and feet as it just dangled by its teeth for awhile before loosing its grip with those and sent flying away and slamming into the ground. Once the Normal-type was back on the ground, and very dizzy, it would quickly retreat, its sneak attack falling. That too was funny to watch as both Pendulum and Sub watched it run into several old boxes along the way as it fled.

"I bet you had to deal with a lot of those things in the wild, huh?" He asked his Pokemon, who just responded with a nod and grumble. While it wasn't too friendly of a response at least it was something. Progress!

As the two walked side by side further into the mall they both kept an eye out for that Yungoos, or any more like it. It was already starting to get annoying to be jumped out of nowhere by such vicious bloodthirsty creatures.

"Cleffa!" Chimed a little pink Pokemon as it dropped down from the ceiling and landed on Sub's hand, ruffling his hair happily.

"Ahh! Get it off! Get it off!" Sub screamed in a panic as he ran around, flailing his arms around as he pleaded for someone to get the Fairy off of him. He already knew what it was without seeing it, he recognized that sound anywhere.

"Don't just stand there! Save me!" He cried out to his Pokemon who could only just stand there and stare in complete confusion. As for the Pokemon on his head it would giggle and laugh as it held onto his hair, thinking this was all just a fun game.

After several panicked minutes the man would eventually get the courage up to grab the thing off his head and pitch it as far away as he could down a dark hallway to the left. Not even worried about where he threw the thing the man would run off deeper into the mall, hoping to get away from the abomination as quick as possible. All Pendulum did though was slowly walk after him, still trying to figure out what exactly just happened.

As Sub ran further and further away Pendulum would pick up the pace herself as she tried to catch up with her trainer. While she didn't think she didn't really need a trainer she thought she might as well humor the role for now. Speaking of her trainer he was about to be in for a surprise as he ran down a long empty hallway, at least it looked empty.

"Ack!" The man shouted as he tripped over something and fell to the ground, face first with a hard thud. "Ow! My face!" He complained as he picked himself up and sat on the ground, holding his face. Pendulum would quickly scurry up and instead of checking on her trainer she would check to see what he tripped over, sniffing and poking away at the ground.

"Cate cate!" Pendulum cried out for Sub's attention as she pressed her hand against...something. He couldn't see whatever it was that she pushed against but it was definitely there, some kind of short wall. His confusion would disappear however as he heard the giggles of what was certainly a Mime Jr. Damn all this cursed fairies and their murder attempts!

"Come on, let's get out of here." Sub pouted as he got up and walked off, holding his face all the while.

Freth found her way in the main part of the mall and made the mad dash down the halls, making her way past the empty storefronts and started to approach the food court area. Freth stopped for a moment, looking back for a second to make sure that she wasn't being followed by the likes of the Pokemon back in the store room because she was pretty sure she made perhaps dozens of enemies back there rather if she intended on it or not. For the time being, the coast seems to be clear. She started to take out her Kadabra's Pokeball to release the Pokemon so she could be teleported out of the place finally, and in peace for that matter.

Freth perked up, hearing noises close by. "Oh for the love of..." she looked towards the center of the court where there was a water fountain that doubled as a wishing well, where the sunlight outside shined down through a window in the ceiling. The fountain had where there were planters that covered four different spots on the outside of the round fountain...plants that haven't been tended to in seemingly forever and left to die. "I should have just continued to find my way outside..." she said to herself, stashing the Kadabra's Pokeball and got Absol's back out, knowing if she used anything else here, she'd be disqualified, regardless of the circumstances and make her capture rendered moot.

From the grass, came out a yellow bird, with yellow poms at the end of its wings. "The hell are you?" Freth said, taking out her SNAG and took a quick look at it, getting a read on the Pokemon. "Oricorio?" Freth asked. "...a hell of a place for you to be in." She wondered how such a Pokemon managed to find her way in the building, taking notice to the window and finding that a couple of the windows were missing. The Pokemon probably flew in, her guess. "I could have thought better places." She then took notice to something else to the SNAG. There were four variations of this Pokemon...and this one... "Oh no..." Freth said to her self. This yellow cheer leader wannabe was an electric type. "Uh...crap. Um...now...how about you...fly off...and we can just avoid all of this, okay? You leave, I leave, we're all happy. Okay?" Freth said, stepping over to the side slowly, keeping a close eye on the bird. "Yeaaah, nice birdie...just...we go...about...our...own...business..."

The poms started to crackle about on the bird. "Bad birdie, bad birdie!" Freth shouted as the bird kicked off the planter and started to take flight after her. Freth ducked, leaving the Oricorio to make a pass. Freth dashed for the fountain, stepped up on the edge then made the hard leap over the empty fountain, turning back to throw out the Pokeball. "Absol!" Freth shouted. She really didn't want to get into another fight, but apparently this bird was full of fight. In a flash of light, the Absol was back out of the ball. The Shadow Absol looked about then looked up, seeing the bird making its way around. "Absol! Use Night Slash!" Freth shouted. However, the Absol wasn't complying with the command. "Absol, what are you-LOOK OUT!" The Oricorio swooped in, upright and wings out, its poms lit up like a Friday-night football game and though the bird looks like it was doing a twirl and danced about, its wings were pummeling the daylights out of Absol, electrocuting it all the while.

"The hell was that!? Absol what are-oh no." Freth's instincts tripped; she knew what was happening. She could practically feel the pressure intensify about the Absol and the air around her seemed to have gotten more sickly. something that even the Oricorio picked up on as well as it looked as if it just found itself over its head. The Absol shrieked, showing that it has officially achieved its Hyper state. "Blast it, not again! Absol stand down!" The Absol wasn't complying and rushed off towards the Oricorio, a shadowy aura flaring out as it smashed right into the Oricorio with its Shadow Rush attack, causing great damage to the bird.

The bird found its way back up, grimacing from pain that it had been dealt. The Oricorio's poms lights up and crackles with electricity once again, it then rushed for the Absol full speed ahead. The Absol started to go for another Shadow Rush towards the bird, but suddenly the bird disappeared right in front of it. "Agility?" Freth asked. She quickly looked around, only to catch sight of the bird, divebombing the Absol from directly above and then gave one hard wave of its wings, unleashing a powerful Air Cutter attack down towards the Absol, dealing great damage to the dark type.

"Ugh...suddenly, I find myself rooting for the opposition...wow...so is this what's its like? Yea, I think we're getting this thing purified as soon as possible...but unfortunately, I can't afford to lose you either. I guess when in Rome...Absol! Shadow Wave!" Freth called out. For once, it was a command that Absol was willing to comply with. The shadowy aura flared up once more and unleashed another Shadow Wave. The Oricorio tried to stand its ground and try as it might, the Shadow attack virtually dominated the bird and blew it away, causing intense damage to the bird and knocked it right out of the air, leaving it to crash down on the floor.

"Alright Absol, fight's over." Freth said, rushing over and taking out the Absol's Pokeball. "We're getting out of here." She aimed the ball towards the Absol. "Return!" The Absol quickly turned around and started to make the rush for Freth. Freth's eyes went wide and quickly stepped off to the side to avoid the attack. "Absol! Enough now-" The Absol then shrieked and unleashed yet another Shadow Wave, which Freth wasn't able to get out of the way of in time. The attack blasted her back and caused a fair bit of damage, and worse still, knocked Absol's Pokeball away from her. Freth pushed herself up, wincing quite a bit from the attack. "Why me? Why today? Just...why?" She said, words seething in pain and anger building.

When Freth found herself back to her feet and favoring her side a bit, she notices the Absol rushing for her with another Shadow Rush. This Absol apparently had enough. Unfortunately for it, so did Freth. "Blasted Shadow Pokemon!" Freth shouted, fist drawn back. When the Absol leaped right for her, Freth lunged out and downwards, smashing the Absol with a mighty Frustration and driving it right into the floor. A loud pained squeal came out of the Absol when the attack connected and smashed right into the floor. Between the damage from the prior few battles, the Absol apparently was finally done. So was Freth's fist. She noticed her hand involuntarily twitched, extremely numb when she struck the Absol's head on with her fist. "Aaagh...I've punched steel walls and it didn't hurt this bad....ffffff...gaaah." She then said when feeling finally came back. She sucked it up for the time being, walked over towards the Absol's Pokeball, then walked back towards the Absol and recalled the fallen Shadow Pokemon. She then managed to get the peace to take out the Kadabra finally and teleport out of the mall. For all intents and purposes, she was done with this place.

While Sub walked through the mall with his face in his hand, still nursing his bruised ego, Pendulum would follow close behind. The Raticate seemed to stick closer than she was, though still drifting off here and there to look under things for any rare treats to snack on but for the most part she did seem concerned enough for her new trainer to not go too far. Honestly it was more of a matter of not wanting to go without a ready source of food if she lost Sub. That was one thing she liked about having a trainer, it was like having a horde of Rattata underlings all in one neat package, a servant to bring you all the grub you can eat.

"I'm starting to think this was a waste of time, Pendulum. The place is filled with nothing but trash. Moldy clothes, rotting wooden benches, Fairy-type Pokemon. Just all around a disgusting hell hole." Sub complained, finally removing his hand from his face to reveal a busted lip and a swollen noise. That Mime Jr. really sent him down for a hard fall.

The man would kick a lone can in his way, Pendulum originally making a run for it before her trainer kicked it, the rat now glaring at him for doing so before she had a chance to see if there was anything yummy inside. "Oh stop it, you're not going to eat anything in this dump." He chastised the Pokemon, the Raticate just grumbling at him in response.

"Vee!" Something whimpered in the darkness ahead of them, the exact direction which Sub had kicked the can. Both Sub and Pendulum would be on alert as they heard whatever creature there was up ahead cry out. He must have hit it with the can and it probably wasn't happy about it.

Without any warning the victim of the can kicking would rush out of the darkness and ram into Pendulum with a full body tackle as it executed a Quick Attack. The attacker and victim was revealed to be a small little Eevee and while Pendulum was much bigger and heavier than it the Evolution Pokemon had caught the Mouse Pokemon off guard and knocked her off her feet.

"Hey! It's an Eevee! Awesome!" Sub cheered as he watched Pendulum get tackle and knocked off the ground and onto her back. As the rodent got back up to her feet she just glared at her trainer who seemed more happy that an Eevee showed up than he was concerned about his Pokemon getting attacked. Just for that she was raiding his RageCandyBar stash. That's right, she already knew all about that.

"Focus, Pendulum, I want to catch this one. Why don't you slow it down with a Scary Face? Should make it a little more manageable." He instructed his Pokemon, thinking to be a little more tactical rather than constantly using brute force.

Unfortunately Pendulum didn't see the need of 'tactics', her wild instincts kicking in again as she ignored her trainer and retaliated against the Eevee with a Quick Attack of her own, a 'tit for tat' kind of deal as she tackled the Eevee, this time sending it tumbling away. "Raticate!" Shouted Pendulum with pride as she watched the Eevee scramble back onto its feet. She wanted more of a fight than this.

As the Eevee got back to its feet it would have a starkly different attitude from the Raticate after being hit. Instead of being angry the Eevee would just look at Pendulum from a distance, its eyes big and wide and just slightly watery. Pendulum would begin to feel emotions she didn't even know she had as she was filled with pity for the poor creature, the emotions masking the fact that the Fairy energy behind the Eevee's Baby-Doll Eyes was draining its attack power.

"Pendulum! Stop staring at it, it's a trick!" Sub pleaded with his Pokemon. Upon hearing her trainer's words the Raticate would shake her head as she attempted to rattle herself back to reality. While the Baby-Doll Eyes did succeeded in reducing her physical strength it actually made her even more angry. How dare this puny little fluff ball get into its head!? It would make it pay!

Without a command from Sub the Raticate would rush the Eevee, attempting to close in deliver a Bite. Unfortunately the Eevee proved to be lighter on its feet as it dodged and Tackled Pendulum from her open left, bouncing off the Pokemon effortless as it intended to keep a distance between them. It looked like the Sand Attack from that annoying Yungoos earlier was still messing with her vision.

"Damn you rat listen to me! If you just keep charging in like that you're going to lose! Now hit it with a Scary Face this time!" The man commanded of his exotic mouse.

With a grumble the Alolan Raticate would begrudgingly obey her trainer, turning her attention to the Eevee as she stood tall and with the help of some sinister energy warped her face into a horrible evil glare. Will it looked pretty sinister to Sub as a third party observer it looked much worse to the Eevee as its ears drooped and it began to cower under Pendulum's gaze. The fear instilled in the Evolution Pokemon would certainly have an effect on its maneuverability.

The Eevee, now very frightened, wanted nothing more than to get away from the evil creature and so with a terrified cry the Normal-type would summon forth a spray of stars made of energy, the Swift flying through the air and pelleted Pendulum relentlessly. The rat attempted to dodge and avoid the stars as she scurried around but it was no use, it was as if they were locked on her.

"Don't bother, Pendulum, Swift never misses." He instructed his rat. "You got it right where you want it though. Chomp down with a Bite!" The man ordered.

While Pendulum actually wanted to obey her trainer as he seemed to know what he was doing she decided to ignore the command and show him what she could really do. Still trying to put on her scariest face the rodent would give off a shout as an aura of brown energy surged around her. The Eevee would whimper and scramble backwards as Pendulum took on some newfound strength which even surprised Sub.

With another shout Pendulum would rapidly scurry across the floor towards the now fleeing Eevee. Unfortunately for the Normal-type its fear simply made it too slow as it kept looking back at the gaining monster. Once close enough Pendulum would bite down on the Eevee, snatching it up in her teeth and throwing it on the ground. With the enemy in a vulnerable position the Raticate would channel all her built up Fighting energy into her tail as she spun around and slammed it down on the Eevee's stomach, getting her Revenge on the Pokemon.

"Huh, didn't know you could do that. Must have been born with it." Sub commented as he watched his relatively new Pokemon use Revenge. "Good job, Pendulum! That should be enough, I'll take it from here." The man said as he quickly took out a Dusk Ball as the Eevee began to get up. "Oh no you don't, you're mine!" He cried out as he hurled the ball at the fleeing fox, the ball making contact and opening up, converting its target into energy and sucking it up into its confines.

Sub would watch with dismay as the Eevee broke out of the Dusk Ball, the tiny little fox now more angry than scared as it growl at Sub. "Hey! You know how much those things cost? I spent good money on that! Though now that I'm thinking about it Nebu should really give me a bulk discount on Dusk Balls what with how many I buy from him...maybe I shoulder talk to him about that. Like a dozen for-" The trainer would get lost in thought as he began to consider how much he pays for Dusk Balls. While the trainer was distracted the Eevee attempted to use this moment to flee as it began to run off.

"Raticate!" Hissed Pendulum as she scurried over to stand in the way, the angry but still scared Eevee responding by Tackle the mouse in the gut. That one actually hurt as Pendulum crippled over a bit, she was beginning to show signs of weakening and if this battle went on any further she might not be able to hang in for much longer.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Sub apologized to his Pokemon as he snapped back to reality. "Bring it back over here, I'm going to give it another try!" He told his Pokemon.

Pendulum would nod at her trainer as she turned around to face the now fleeing Eevee. Utilizing a Quick Attack the Alolan Raticate would catch up to and then get ahead of the Eevee. Position herself in front of the fox she would then be on a collusion course with the Normal-type as she rammed into it and dragged it across the ground with her as she moved it back towards Sub. Once close enough she would disengage and jump back, letting her trainer handle the rest.

"I really hate using these things but I don't have many options. I'll get you a nice Dusk Ball one day when you're a pretty little Umbreon, promise." Sub told the Eevee as he tossed one of his Safari Balls at the Eevee, the device making contact, opening up, and like before sucking it up inside before closing back up.

Now things were starting to become a bit annoying. "Okay, seriously. Donne, where-YEEEEAARG!" Crystal froze for a bit as electricity suddenly coursed through her for a moment before she fell backwards into the water, flailing as a Stunfisk splashed out of the water and zoomed off. "... Where's that Arceus forsaken Bronzor?" She twitched as she spoke, though it probably was unclear whether the twitch was from the electricity or annoyance.

Just like before the Eevee would break free of the ball, though this time it seemed to stay inside for a little while longer before. That was a good sign...right? Either way seeing it break out a second time was really annoying to Sub. Not only did it waste on of his expensive Pokeballs but now even the free ones weren't good enough for it! "Okay, I'm starting to get really fed up with you." He growled at the Eevee. "I didn't even want to use that Safari Ball in the first place but no, you couldn't just settle for me breaking tradition, could you? You just had to break out of that one too! Well I got something for you! Pendulum! Keep that thing still, we're catching it this time!" He instructed his Pokemon.

The Eevee had begun to run away again, this time using its own Quick Attack to try and flee. Pendulum would match its speed with her own copy of the move, the pair dashing through the hallway long side each other, both just a blur. Pendulum would keep following alongside until she saw an opportunity to pounce as Eevee jumped over a forgotten vending machine laying on its side, the Alolan Raticate Tackling the smaller Pokemon to the ground where it would pin it down with its weight.

"Good job!" Sub shouted as he ran up and caught up with the pair, the Eevee struggling underneath the fat rat. "You probably need to lose weight..." Sub said to the rodent who just shot a glare at him. "Alright, alright...we'll talk later. You! I dare you to escape this one!" The man said as he pointed at the Eevee with one hand and tossed a Timer Ball at it with the other. Just like always the ball would connect and suck the Eevee inside, hitting the ground shaking after closing.

"Finally!" Sub shouted as he threw his hands up in the air and began to walk towards the ball. "You didn't put up much of a fight that time, did you, you little rat!" He shouted at the Timer Ball. Pendulum would shoot him another glare though in response to his insult. "Oh, crap! I didn't mean it like that." He reassured his Pokemon, laughing nervously as he bent down and picked up the Timer Ball. Pendulum did not seem to be amused however.

"Come on, I got my Eevee and you got to have some fun. Let's get out of this dump. Just for being such a help I'll let you have one of my RageCandyBars. What do you think about that?" He asked his Alolan Raticate as he put the ball away and began to walk off. Pendulum would feign happiness as she scurried after him. It didn't matter if she gave him one or not, she knew where they were and planned on taking as many as she wanted whenever she wanted, screw occasional treats.

Crystal ears would catch onto something as she wrung out her hair, and she would rush towards it. "Donne? Donne, is that- That's one high jumping Magikarp." The Magikarp she stopped to comment on had apparently just made a ceiling high jump, which shouldn't be possible with the depth of the water. "Right then... Amazing, but not interested. Nice job, though."

Odd turned to walk away from Mienfoo's lifeless body, unaware of the rodent that had come to investigate the noises made by the battle it had instigated. "Rattata!"

"No you aren't." He told the Dark-type, certain it was somehow lieing about it's species.

"Mimi kyu! Mikyu kyu mimi." Celesta replied to Odd, the Channeler shrugging at whatever she had said before she jumped down and unleashed a tiny Thunder(bolt) Shock on the rodent, attempting to scare it aware without a direct battle.

It seemed to work, with the rodent practically glowing in the dark from the charge in it's black fur after that, running off immediately.
