She noticed that the man stared back and quickly turned her head away.
She pretended that she had never even seen him, though it was a rather poor act since her ears were really red.

the soldiar walked closer to her and stood in front of her. "excuse me miss, but..." he paused for a moment "you seem very familiar have we met?" he asked her smiling.

his smile falterd a bit and he stepped back a bit. "ummm no no i dont think so." he mumbled appaled that she would ask him something like that.

Her eyes were weird. She looked about fifteen ot sixteen, but she had the pain and life experience of a hundred year old in her blue eyes.
When she looked at him she saw right into his heart.

he looked at her for a moment before laughing loudly. "ich deutsch?...nein" he said still smiling. he suddenly took a tremendous bow in front of her, "a one cpl vasily romanov" at your service mam," he said grinning at her "22nd infantry rifle divison" he grinned at her flashing dazzlingly white perfect teeth.

"as to your other question, have i killed anyone? the awnser quite simply is yes. yes i have." his smile falterd a little but he quickly regained it. "and may i ask dear eliza what you are doing out so late?" he said smiling at her again.
