Altair is rather immature, something often unnoticed by Tari and discouraged by Hermes. He's rash, arrogant, and self-centered, cocky to the point of rushing into a situation without much thought to the consequences of his actions. While his goddess found amusement in this because she's never seen him actually hurt himself, his father-figure, Hermes, was often the one to get the younger bird out of trouble.

Despite how he might act towards Hermes, he does respect the larger bird and knows that there is a lot he can learn from him.
