He could never get along with women. Because Darcian was a severe introvert and bad at talking to others, he was skilled at saying the wrong thing and pissing off a woman. And when they get angry, they let everyone know that you pissed them off. It was one of the reasons why Darcian gave up on trying to blend in before. He was too different to get along with the people around. Besides, Darcian used to think that it was wrong of him to pretend to be a living being when he wasn't anymore. He died by his own hand, and therefore, lost all rights to be human. What changed his mind? He got tired of sleeping in alleyways or hiding out in a stranger's house when they couldn't see him. And then Onyx came into his life. He needed to provide for his canine friend. It was his responsibility as the the purchaser."And I hardly think it is a good idea to share personal information with someone you barely know. I do not feel comfortable telling you why I am here. It really isn't your business."
Though he was nervous about her being offended and getting angry at him, he felt that he wasn't in the wrong for deciding not to be an open book for her. He really did find it to be a poo idea to share your life story with someone you just met. It was best not to share your weaknesses openly with a potential enemy. Though he doubt she had any diabolical plans for him, he still wanted to remain cautious. She, after all, wasn't just a reaper like he was. She was one of those half types that still hovered over the land of the living and the dead...while Darcian was completely plunged into the darkness. "So, I will refrain from asking you he same question."

Well, so much for trying to be friendly with him. Honestly, she was disappointed, but it was best not to push it even further regarding that matter. Maybe a different topic would be great to keep the conversation going, but she was running out of ideas at this point, the ones that would prevent the other from feeling a bit more suspicious towards her. Instead, she picked up her pencil and sketchbook and continued on drawing, since she was close to finishing what she had to do. Truly, art helped in clearing most, if not all, of her thoughts. There was the breeze again, and Hikaru closed her eyes, enjoying more of the sensation. It wasn't before she finally finished the drawing and she smiled, satisfied with the masterpiece.
Maybe that dog would become playful and disturb her again, but that would depend on what the animal would like to do next with the owner close to the creature's proximity. At least her main job was accomplished for the time being; there might be another client that would contact her for another project, and she would have to head home because of that.

She was surprised what all he didn’t have experience with, but to each their own? Was that really a situation this applied to? ”Well then, I hope it isn’t too crowded. I would hate for you to have to leave part way through because of crowds. Anyway, I guess lead on then, before these babies make a run for it and go get food for themselves.” That would totally never happen, but it was a funny mental image, and it really did encapsulate how she felt at the moment. She was about to hold his hand, but thought better of it, they really didn’t know each other like that, and while she wanted to be friends with everyone, talk might start up and that might bother him.

Used to be she preferred sleeping in late, but recently, the kids hadn't been too keen on that. Actually, they weren't too keen on her sleeping period. Food was ok, but rest wasn't for them, they preferred to have her up and moving whenever they could. She figured that probably meant it wouldn't be too much longer before they were born. Or at least she hoped it wouldn't be too much longer, she wasn't sure how long she could do the whole random sleeping hours. She had been walking in the park for a little while, but in her current state, walks were pretty short with frequent breaks in between. It was a little early for other people to be around, she thought, but this town kept finding ways to surprise her. Who knows, maybe the man of her dreams would walk by and start up a conversation with her. Or at least a person, really most any would do. She was starting to get some major cabin fever, and company was the best way to dispel it.

══════════════════ Jia tapped the pencil against his chin, looking at the design for the jacket he was going to be working on later. He had thousands upon thousands of designs, and normally he liked to work on them while Lìqín was up all hours of the night studying, reading, playing with her toys, or whatever interested the little one. Her lack of sleep meant he had to keep making things for her to do, but it was normally studying or something children normally did. She didn't tend to bother him so he worked since he didn't need to sleep like most people did. Speaking of Lìqín.... "He's flying!" the little girl yelled as she gave her best toss of the paper hero she had constructed. It was a complicated thing in the shape of a superhero from a comic her father had bought her, cape and all. It flew pretty well, though Jia had no idea how the hell she managed to make it do so, but she tore through his white paper like a monster. The little girl would always chase after the hero after he fell, dust him off and throw him again. She was sporting her yellow raincoat and currently listening to the sounds of rain on her tape player, the only piece of tech her father let her normally carry at her age. That, however, did not stop her for practically belting out some silly heroic theme every time she threw her paper man. Jia followed behind her, only giving glances to make sure his daughter did not accidentally wander into the street or something. Eventually Lìqín would throw the hero again, but this time paying little attention as a light breeze changed his direction right towards a pregnant woman moving through the park and to her feet. The little Chinese girl ran over to pick him up stepping right in front of Dalla almost unaware. She did her usual routine of picking him up and brushing him off, and all of a sudden her eyes drifted to Dalla. She didn't say so much as she seemingly held it out for the woman to throw herself, a kind gesture for a stranger. Jia did catch sight "Lily! Don't bother strangers!" he called moving his way over.  ══════════════════ "...we'll always be in this together." |
