I think I have some photosensitivity problems..Someone's bright blinding character I had to color was making me feel weird after looking at it for a good while..

When I first started working on it a few weeks ago it was giving me headaches. Now today it gave me a headache and a weird sort of shaky feeling...

I don't feel good now.

From now I'm rejecting commission orders of characters that have a lot of bright colors. I don't want to risk my health if this is something that could become serious..

Interesting. o.O

Kaky do you use a white background when coloring on the comp? If so you might want to pick a darker neutral color to help tone down on the lights. You might also want to check the lighting in your room. Finally make sure to get up every 30 minutes at least to walk around and rest your eyes. I have given myself migraines staring at a computer screen too long.

I didn't use a white background for that piece. It was a transparent one.. In photoshop transparent backgrounds appear as a grid of squares all of which are grey and not bright.. It was after five minutes of looking at it that it started to hurt my eyes and longer caused headaches. I think it was the fact the person used all bright neon clashing colors with no contrasting/darker colors to balance it out (there was no white either except for the eyes).. I think they just used the default palette in Paint..x_x.. In fact...

Yea, that shade of yellow especially is making my eyes strain. XP

But I still second Kriss' points about computer usage. I never needed glasses until my junior year of high school (2002), and now I've got, among other issues, bad astigmatism. I'm absolutely convinced it is due to too much computer usage in a dark basement in high school. XP

The transparent photoshop default is still freakishly light. I wouldn't use that either to shade whether it be a bright image or dark one. Besides being harder on the eyes, the light backgrounds like that tend to cause people to flatten the image as they shade. It is the same reason why many painters tend to throw down a base color rather than painting directly on a white canvas.

I don't think even a colored background would have made the character look better...

At least damn thing is done.

Yesterday was Sabastian's and my 4th Anniversary.

We had some fun, drove out to an area I spent the majority of my youth in and just got out and headed into the state forestry to hike, bushwhack, and rock climb. We spent about six hours out there, engaged in fun kitty activities that this kitty loves to do in the woods wink and then wandered further NorthEast that I'd been... and keep in mind it had been more than fifteen-years since I was even in this state much less that area... and well... we ended up wandering into the big and illustrious reserve that belongs to some local millionaire who owns like 95% of the limestone in the state. xd
He wasn't happy to see us when we sorta popped out and were looking at his mansion... and while we walked out via the road/drive we were escorted by shiney black cars with people in them that looked like they wanted to shoot us and save time. lol

So yea... getting kicked off a millionaire's estate was kinda fun, then we went home and cleaned up... pulled out all the thorns and washed out the scrapes and such and went out to dinner. The restraunt had Strawberry Daiquiris to die for. biggrin

All in all, a good Anniversary.

So in other words Kougar did some "brokeback"-ing in the woods. LOL.

Ugh, I think my transmission died completely. I hate this car. God knows what I'm going to do now.
