See and this is why I tend to avoid generic harem anime.

Get your typical high school lazy shy geek. His childhood friend LIVES with him, even says in the first 10 minutes that she wants to give him her body and soul, and he hasn't hit it yet? Isn't even dating her? a*****e much?
Well, if he was dating her then there would be no plot, no anime, no harem, because then they couldn't throw a bunch of busty women at him, complete with jiggly boobs and panty shots.
Dear god Japan... WTF? I know anime creators are fat ugly basement dwelling nerds, which explains a lot, but god damn.

I know, I know. Fortunately, we're going home today. Unfortunately, we have to drive up to Syracuse tomorrow for my fiancé's maternal grandfather's funeral/memorial service on Sunday. XP

I've been feeling depressed again, like I usually do on weekends.
It may have to do with the fact that I work on weekends. And I hate my job.
I feel like I've failed at life. That I fail at life.
I fail at having a career. I'm stuck as a busboy at a restaurant in an economy that is the worst in the USA, so it's not like there's any jobs around here.
I'm smart. I've been to college. I haven't graduated with anything better than a liberal arts degree. I'm 28 and ******** stuck working minimum wage, which I fear that I'll be doing for the rest of my life.
I want to be working where I feel useful, where I feel my talents are being used, where I feel important and I'm making some sort of positive contribution. But I don't know what that is. Something related to the computer degree I'm currently going for? Something in Science? Engineering?
Add to that I'm becoming more and more depressed being single, thinking I'm going to die alone. My last date was like 4 years ago. Almost all the women I've dated have been online long distance relationships.
I suck at flirting. I am too quiet IRL and I don't know what to say and when to say it. I seriously haven't asked a girl out in ages, and when the rare woman asks me out, I don't know what to do.
I don't want to have an online or long distance relationship though... I've had enough of those and I'm sick of them. I want to date someone IRL for real. But I just don't seem to have the social capacity to just pick up whomever I want to date.
So every weekend, I feel like I've failed at life. I feel like I'm going to die alone. I'm going to grow old single and a greeter at Walmart. Because I suck. Because I, in all my intelligence and high IQ, can't get a date without resorting to online social networking, and I can't get a good ******** job where I get paid for my intelligence instead of how much they can slave work me.
What woman would ever want to date someone with a crappy job anyway?

There are people out there who do more for less. razz But in all seriousness, I know there's gotta be plenty of people out there who don't care what job you have. I should know, since I'm one of them. I don't care what job my mate has, just as long as he's working or looking for a job. I expect the same out of myself. 3nodding Of course, there are exceptions... Prostitution doesn't count as a career. razz But overall, you'll find someone who doesn't mind what you do for a living, so long as you're not like a dead beat or something. To be honest, I'm not even sure if there are a lot of people out there who actually do care what others do for a living. Wages may come into play, but usually it doesn't matter.

And yet again I was working minimum wage at restaurant and hating every minute. We became horrifically busy during the lunch hour today. Apparently it was graduation for the local big university and everyone was eating at OUR resturant.. I worked 2 hours past the end of my shift, it was that busy. I swear I just wanted to walk out in the dining hall and start lighting ******** on fire with a flamethrower.
Whether or not a girl will date me with my crappy job is meaningless if I can't get a girl to date me. I still suck at flirting. An ex told me to say nice things to women I'm interested in, say she has nice hair or complement her or notice little things about her, but.... I've always been too shy to do that because apparently I "look creepy" and if I say a girl's pretty or something they'll think I'm some horny freak..... sad
And I still hate my job and want to do something useful for society...
Oh, and there's a oral sex thread on gaia that's been going on for 2 weeks... makes me jealous to see all the people who have SOs to give and recieve. I have NEVER had a b*****b. Makes me want to just... dress some furry twink up like a girl and have him give me head.. I'll pretend he's a woman or something.. lol.
I've never gone down on a girl either, but I almost did, she just... didn't bathe enough.

I wish I could say there's an easy way to get a girlfriend. If you're that shy around girls though, I'd suggest becoming friends with girls first and getting comfortable around them--and this doesn't mean online ones because it is so easy to talk to people online and harder to do it face to face.
And best way to do that is find a community center/club or whatever that shares your interest and go.
Also, drop the desperat, woe is me thing. It doesn't help you..will only hurt you. The more you try to get a girlfriend, the more likely you won't get one. Be optimistic and take it one day at a time. Each day is a new day!

I feel you on that shitty job, no fun stuff. you should apply to work at the Boll Family YMCA Downtown for the summer camp counselor position... its a fun job.. and you get 8 an hour. i mean you probably make more at the restaurant but its a pretty nice job very fulfilling. and they are looking for new hires. if you are going to try that, make sure you do it ASAP, my boss is just about done looking for new hires.

I'm already the member of the anime club at my college and just got elected coerced into being staff at the video game club, since the guy who was elected to do flyers and advertisements doesn't know how to do multimedia on a computer. There's women there just not that many, seems in every fandom I'm in men outnumber women 10 to 1. The few women who do show up are usually taken. And it's hard to strike up a conversation or be friendly with one at an anime club where all we do is watch anime in a dark room, and excessive talking is frowned upon.
