What is shorthand to you?
Just a few symbols. Nothing too dramatic.

This is a prime example of why everyone should just take notes in Tolken Elvish like me! That way when your friends steal them because they're too lazy to do thier own work, they get NOTHING! Muahahaha! blaugh

For the most part, at my school, we can print off copies of our teachers' power points and use those as notes. Most teachers don't elaborate past that.

Here in college, most of the professors just put up the PowerPoint and talk away for an hour or so, not waiting for students. It is maddening to keep up but there is no way I would ever use shorthand. I tried it once and didn't understand my notes afterward. Oh well.

I remember when I was in college. I wrote my notes in Kanji. No one had any idea what it was, save for me and my foreign language professor.

Horrid grammar in my teacher's notes strikes again. This time in Speech class. These are our notes on Speech writing.

§ Intro: “Tell ‘em what you r going 2 tell ‘em”
§ Body: “Tell ‘em”
§ Conclusion: “Tell ‘em what u told ‘em”

It started out relatively normal. "'em" is somewhat acceptable because that is more of a dialect thing. Even I say "them" as "'em" sometimes. But then she got to "Are" she stopped. "Oh dear. I'm writing like I'm on the phone. Silly me...Who cares. I can say what I want on this." She then finished up the notes splicing in "phone talk."

I hope there's a circle of Hell reserved for such teachers.

That's mutalation of english language. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: "This is not World of Warcraft, there's no 'lvl 70' or Ogre going to kill you. Cutting four seconds off of your typing(writting in this case) time isn't going to mean the difference between life and death."

the girl lafd-walkd home-wached tv-did homework

Eh. My WPM is fast enough that I don't have to type in short hand when taking notes on my computer.

Perhaps I was mistaken- I thought notes were supposed to help you study? All this does is make me feel strangely violent.
