My friend is looking to dress in a Gothic Lolita-style dress for Halloween, but the thing is she would need a (sewing) pattern for a larger size or some way to make a preexisting pattern larger. Can anyone help?

I'ds say your best bet is to go to any store that sells patterns and look in the costume section. A lot of the fantasy/historical/victorian could be made GothLoli with a little effort, and you can buy them already Plus-sized.
And if you have a Joann's around, you might be able to grab them for a buck or two! xd

I would also suggest she make the base pieces of the pattern first out of cheap fabric (muslin is often only $1 a yard). This will allow her to make sure all pieces fit properly- especially usful in the bodice area. (check arm holes, insure bra straps wont show, etc.)
