Very good choice to reserve judgement for the moment, but I'm generally anti-cop because they only help themselves (eg. people who pay ther paycheck - rich people, not tax payers btw, the rich have the power). Plus the fact is, even if he was telling Kerry he was an idiot and his mother as a street whore, the kid was still out numbered when tasered, and in a busy campus there's probably little chance he ould get too far if he did a runner.

Second, i find what you said extremely offensive. You just spat in the face of every cop, alive and dead. When i lived in St. Louis, i saw cops get shot at, just for trying to stop gang violence from spilling into poor neighborhoods. I saw a cop risk his life to stop a group of men from beating and raping a homeless woman.

I became friends with a cop who nearly died because he stopped a mob from lynching my homosexual friend.

So shut up. You are disgusting.

...listen zz.....everyone has their own opinions and personal experiences with law enforcement officers, whether good or bad........so there is no use strangling (or rather tazing) each other from differences in opinion.....at the moment, that isn't constructive....

I was refued conviction and basically told it was my fault for trusting a friend to look after me whilst drunk. That it was my fault for being *gasp* female and drunk.

So, yeah, I'm going to be anti-cop just a tad.

Then be against THOSE cops... they're the ones who did you wrong. There are, amazingly, I know, good cops out there. Just a few, but those few make generalizations a bad thing, because when you generalize you include EVERYONE in that group, the good and the bad. My boyfriend has been going through the steps to become a cop for the last few months -- he wants to be a cop because he wants there to be more good, intelligent cops in the world. If he becomes a cop, you've just included him in your generalization, therefore insulting me.

Perhaps i was sexually assaulted by a group of black men. Perhaps i was routinely abused for nigh-on a decade by Jewish family members. Perhaps i watched a friend be killed by a group of straight people, just because she was gay. Should i ask everyone to excuse me for being a bigot? If those experiences are true, is right for me to insult all straight people, all blacks and all Jewish people? Of course not.

There is no excuse for bigotry of any kind.

Actually same country, just towards the west and up a bit, I can vouch for it being the same anywhere there isn't money, my current missus underwent an ordeal in a similar vein, the cops here are useless, I was shot at by a BB gun by the kids where I used to live... they were using metal bearings that can kill, I phoned the police, can't even get them on firearm offenses. I was beaten across the back with a huge wooden stick by a gang of about 20, but because I had my leather jacket on, it didn't leave marks.... the police couldn't do anything unless I had bruises. Hell I was stopped and searched by police when I was 14, because I looked "suspicious" (i.e. Leather jacket, long hair) they searched me for a stolen car stereo, then tried to get me on drugs charges, finally letting me go after searching me twice.

Now I want to throw the b*****d that put my girlfriend through that ordeal over a railway bridge when theres a train coming along the tracks... I think we can all agree I'm justified in wanting that, but if I do that, it doesn't matter what the guy did, for seeking justice, I will be put away for 20+ years. We've not had a Rodney King incident yet, but I assure you, its just a matter of time.

Get off that damn high horse of self-righteousness, I know there are cops that give their jobs a good name, I'm not a moron, unlike some on this guild.

But the fact of the matter is, there are a vast number of bad cops, incompetent cops, gung-ho cops that are not good for the policing system, or the public, and they are rife and rampant throughout the world and system. Police like the ones that tasered someone for little provocation.

The police are s**t. I dont care who I offend.
I got told I shouldn't have got in the taxi with a guy who basically did what happened to Izzie but not AS bad.
I was spiked and made to get more drunk.
They acted as if I knew what was going to happen and there was no proof for it so nothing could happen.

My friend got beaten in the middle of town and the police never showed up even after the burger king we were outside rang the panic button.

The only time police have turned up has been because someone said we were throwing glass bottles from a window into a street at a party, we weren't.
There was no glass but the girls parents still got found.

I had no proof nothing happened.
They didnt people get fined.

I do not blame people unless they deserve it. As such, i would not turn into a bigot because of the actions of individuals.

Besides, you do not know what i have been through. You know nothing of me, and you have no basis for your assumptions. I could tell you about me, but i understand personal experience is irrelevant in a topic like this.

You admit there are good cops, yet you have no problem insulting them? Whether or not you are a moron, you are disgusting. What is most disgusting is your air of indignation, your willingness to insult someone for disliking bigotry.

Of course, if i told you to stay in the kitchen, that would be wrong. You might as well be saying, "Bigotry is fine, as long as it is towards someone i do not like."

You can call it self-righteousness, but i will not sit idly by while bigotry is spewed in front of me.

Exactly, this is a day of age where the government here in America is falling apart.

Anyways, I just wanted to add something I felt was pretty funny. Look at slavery, it's basically the most lowest form of work. So when you express this word in all forms, just working for someone is slavery. When you think of it in these terms, everyone in America is a slave because there's always someone above them. The 13th Amendment to the Constitution says that slavery is illegal. Does this mean that Congress (and the entire American gov't for that matter) is unconstitutional?

lol I thought about this all day, and laughed my a** off when I realized where it led. We need to destroy the American system of gov't because it defies its own constitution and remake a new gov't!

Anyways, I just wanted to add something I felt was pretty funny. Look at slavery, it's basically the most lowest form of work. So when you express this word in all forms, just working for someone is slavery. When you think of it in these terms, everyone in America is a slave because there's always someone above them.

And since cake is a food, all food is therefore cake! Hooray for nonsensical logic!
