1. Check the threads already here. This forum is so that people can get help with problems in their game. Chances are somebody else may already have had a similar problem to yours and been given a solution. Just taking a few minutes to check before you post can save a lot of time.
If you see a locked thread then the question has been answered/problem solved. If you post a thread about a question that has already been asked it will be deleted.
2. Give your post a useful and informative title related to your problem. Topics with titles like "HeLP!!" and "WTF?!?!!?" aren't helpful to other users and people probably wont look at them. They are also subject to be edited by the moderators.
3. When posting, try to give as much information as you possibly can. Let us know what expansion packs you have installed, if the problem is just on one lot or on all of them, if you have downloads, if you have hacks or mods in your game, etc.
4. If you are having problems with a specific piece of custom content then don't post here unless it is a last resort. Contact the creator of the content instead. Websites such as modthesims2.com and InSIMenator.net are built with a forum specifically so that you can leave feedback.
5. Most importantly; be patient. Don't expect a reply as soon as you post. Sometimes it may be a few days before anybody can provide an answer Don't resort to bumping unless you have had no replies after a week and have dropped below the top thread. If your thread is still the most recent then there is no reason to bump.
