Air dodge diagonally and downward immediately after jumping. ^Simplest explanation possible^

To make it easier on yourself when learning, start with Luigi on Final Destination. The wave dash is most noticeable with him and easiest to do it on Final Destination.

Best thing to do, is start by wavedashing down. Hold the control stick down, and then short hop with y and immediately air dodge. If you do it right, Luigi should still be on the ground, and a white puff of smoke appears beneath him. Then, slowly start moving the control stick in a direction while doing this.
That's how I learned. Now I can almost WD with anyone (except Bowser. crying). It just takes a lot of practice.

Yeah, it takes different timings with different characters. It takes practice. wink It's fun to use when you get the hang of it though.
