Sandy colored legs stamped across the darkened ground. It looked as if it was covered in soot, but it was merely the place where the elephants chose to die.
He'd always wondered of that. How could something that died so long ago, and is just rotting skeletons, give elephants the courage to spend their last moments there?

He didnt know, but he figured one day, that would be a good question to ask. Paws treading across teh dark colored ground, his red orbs were glancing around, looking for others of his kind.
They couldnt dislike him here. His fur wasnt the color of the sand. Or the Prairie grasses. Many disliked him for his ability to blend so well.

His little mane stood on end as he walked through the chilling shadows. His ear twitched, and followed the movement of his red colored eyes.

His ear laid straight back as he ran into teh massive bone that lie in his wake. Cursing to himself, he shot a mean look to the dead bone.

"Always having to hurt something huh.."

There was nothing like a nice long nap, besides a nice meal of plump prey and maybe one right after another really.... and probably a few other things that could be really nice like meeting new friends or old aquintences that didn't want to kill you. Okay, so there were a few things just as good as a long nap, but having just had a long nap nothing really could compare at the moment. Zoma let out a large yawn as her fore paws stretched out, digits digging into the dusty ground. Her dark tail flicked as the backside of her body rose to complete its stretch and gain circulation once more.

Finished with her waking up routine, back legs shaking out a bit to still get the pins and needles out, Zoma's still sleepy eyes glanced around to where she had ended up with her nap. Hm. Nope, not familiar.... like usual. Aa well ~ she told herself as she continued to survey around, ears also doing their work to pick up any noises that could filter through. There seemed to be nothing nearby as usual, which Zoma had started to not mind, until a muffled bit of anger seemed to reach her ears. Her head jerked towards the location, wondering if she should venture yonder and investigate.

.... angry sounds, probably would mean another angry hyena. She was not totally looking forward to that. But... couldn't hurt right? And she did indeed find herself trotting slowly towards the tan male, unaware of who she was going to encounter.

Geheim, meaning Secret, had gone through life being able to do a bit more than the other hyena's he'd met. It had caused him major issues growing up..

But now, he was walking through a graveyard, and a dark one at that. It was midday, yet teh shadows of this place were creeping over everything and causing the earth to remain dark and sullen.

Creepy.

His nose twitched as he smelled the musk of another. Picking up his paws, he wandered towards the smell as well.
He watched the other hyena intently.

When had she arrived?

Flicking his little tail, and curling his tongue into his mouth, Geheim stood stock still, waiting for the other to join him.

"Hello.."
He called slowly, quietly.
No need to call the attention of a bitchy Hyena, by any stretch of the imagination..

[Can I see a pic of Zoma?]

[ Zoma ~ ^__^ ]

Dark ears flicked forward at the sound of a greeting, as if trying to catch more of the quiet sound. Zoma couldn't help, like she could, as a smile spread across her features. Having still been a bit half awake before, this was something to bring her rousing nature awake finally. The female trotted closer, fluffy tail swishing this way and that as she found herself in the presence of a hyena of tans and browns.

Her cobalt eyes met his red ones, "Hi! I'm Zoma ~ and you are?" She made to usual greetings, paying no mind to the surroundings. the graveyard was her home after all, nothing with it really startled anymore even though she had the worst time getting around it. Her gaze fell from his for a moment, looking him over. In some ways, gearing herself and trying to see if a nickname could be supplied from his appearance if his demeanor failed otherwise.

He gave a sigh of complete relief as she seemed to be a friendly creature. He'd had enough of all the mean, snobs that roamed the area. But he too, offered a smile and walked closer, hoping to join her in her walk, or to carry a good conversation.

She was a pretty little thing. Ebony body that carried the markings as ivory as the bones around him.
He flicked his tail, offering a smile, and stopping a few feet from her. No need to take away all her personal space. They didnt know each other that well.

"They call me Geheim, miss Zoma. It is indeed a pleasure to meet you."

There, the name formality was out of the way. One step closer to being a comfortable conversation.

"Geheim," Zoma repeated as she often did with new names, to get the feel of it. It sounded funny and felt as such when she let it roll off her tongue, like she was coughing or clearing her throat. Oh, her new possible friend would need a nickname by the end of their encounter, she was sure of it. "It's very nice to meet you too~"

But for the moment, before continuing any possible conversations, she took a quick look over of him as he did with her. He was a rather petty tan color and the markings on his hind and forepaws were really intriguing - enough for her to stare at them for a few moments more than needed. "Oh," she recalled herself, blinking big and still smiling. "Oh, um.. are you new here? I haven't met you before." Though, when did she ever encounter someone twice now? She was terrible of keeping track of those shew had met before and keeping up friends. Zoma made a mental note to try and find someone old again.

Her look made him c**k his head. She was cute, he liked her personality.. but he hardly trusted anyone.. But being the whipping boy that he was, he knew he had to stay close now.

"Im new around here yes."
He said, giving a nod, and looking back up at Zoma, he too committed her name to memory. Did him no good to forget a name.

"You're the first hyena Ive met around here.."
He said, smiling.
"You, I like."

Oh, well he was rather forward wasn't he, Zoma couldn't help but feel a little awkward about his statement about her. It was nice though, as opposed to the usual response that others gave her .. or gave her in those looks they would give her. Her smile couldn't help but spread further even if she was a little uneasy about the whole thing.

"New?" Her tail gave a quick flick, excited. The female was curious if he was new in the sense of being in the graveyard or also in the pack, but was unsure about asking due to past experience really. "It's rather nice isn't it? All the bones in a nice arrangement and stuff. Its loads of fun here!" She chirped, she sure liked it. It was home after all and a nice topic to drive towards instead on herself.

His comment may have seemed forward, but he meant it...He wasnt used to meeting new people, his social skills were a little off.

"There are lots of bones all stacked up.I could see how it would be entertaining."
He smiled.

"So how exactly do you..have fun out here?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:47 pm

Zoma nodded, smile plastered on her face. "And sometimes the neat stacks are deceiving, and you fall right through!" She paused and made a face, "sometimes not so fun but.. sometimes it could be... especially if you're a witness."

The black and white female paused again, blinking long and hard at the tan one's next question. Fun things to do, huh. That was kind if hard, should she sugar coat it or be blunt? She was having a hard time trying to find fun things to do herself. "Well..." Zoma awkwardly began, lifting a hind leg to scratch at one of her floppy ears, "there are lots of things but I guess it depends on your idea of fun. Like, some ... well most of the other hyena seem to like harassing each other and being mean and snooty to one another and plotting against the lions and seizing the day. I found it rather fun to get myself lost and meet new people and talk. A new friend showed me the joys of going outside and playing with crocs.... playing in the bones was nice...." Zome babbled, eyes skyward as she rattled on about different ideas of fun.

After a moment, her cobalt gaze met his again, "anything in particular you're looking to do?"

Jumping through bones and falling through on some of the stacks sound incredibly entertaining to the tan male, but being mean and harrassing others made his neck ruff stick straight up as he growled a bit.
Bullied as a pup, the male had grown to dislike those who had to be mean to be tough.
Hed prefer just to keep his sweet side.

"Being mean, gains nothing. You lose respect and all you seem to get is the fear and cowardice out of everyone."
His little knub tail flicked a bit as he let out a yawn, blinking as a small gnat flew into his eye.

"I, prefer to have conversation. Adventure, was always dangerous to a boy like me.."
He said with a nod. He had always been ridiculed into leaving every adventure.. Words, he was good with..Or at least..Sometimes.

Zoma stared amazed, her mouth agape and she couldn't help but utter a 'wow' and his explanation. "That's so insightful and stuff." She bounced a little from foot to foot again, "That's so true, I mean... really, what does being mean get you? It just makes others not want to be around you and stuff, and how boring is that? I never really though about it like that though." The female nodded vigorously and leaned forward a little, perhaps sometimes a little too close.

"But, I have to say that adventures are awesome. Talking is fun too but nothing beats making mundane things into something more interesting. That's how I got through life," She nodded again, but this time in a more matter of fact way. "They're not always dangerous, just more interesting. You don't want to lead a boring life, do you?" And being so close as she still managed to be, she raised her brow just a little and uttered a long 'hmmmm?'
