The large jet black male walked up the beach in high spirits, his paws plodded along the beach with an extreme jaunt in the step. A smile rolled accross his pale maw, plasteresd to his face. He was to say the least, full of high spirits.
He knew where he was headed now, the news which rang in his ears made his maw stretch even further, if infact thatw as possible. Khepri was pregnant, they would be bareing cubs in to this land and he needed to speak to the king. He wished to stay, he and Khepri wished to stay and he could think of no greater place in the world than here to raise their cubs. cubs, his eyes closed for a moment, his and Khepri's cubs.
Padding up to the rocky dens where he knew the king resided, the dark male licked his lips and cleared his throat. "'M'lord Tamba, I be a wonnerin' if i cin ave a word wit ye sir." he waited for an answer, his head bowing as he waited, his eyes turned to the sand. Despite his gruff, roguish manner, 'Kota was forever respectful of the king of the Bhari'mtoto.
In this situation, with questions heavy upon his lips, he couldn't help but wriggle his paws in the sand, he was hopeful and frightened, what if they were not welcome upon the sands? With cubs on the way they needed a pride, a place to call home, he closed his eyes and preyed to the gods of the sea, he needed all the help he could get.

Tamba was actually not to be found in his den. He'd been rambling all morning, doing a patrol that he desperately needed help with. Upon his return, he was greeted with an odd sight - the burly lion Kota waiting outside his den, looking rather anxious and tense.
"Kota? What are you doing here? Anything the matter?" he asked as he approached from behind, coming down a slight embankment.

The large male turned with a slight startle, he hadn't expected the king to come sliding down the embankment so engrossed was he in his own thoughts. He tilted his head in a bow his mane almost touching the sand as he did so. "Naw yer highness, I jus' came ta beg a favour of ye sir." He cleared his throat and peered through his dark bangs at the sea king.
"Ya see sir, Khepri, well she be wit chil' sir, an', wullt ha ony place in tha worl' I'd wan'ta raise me cubs woul' be at tha sea." He cleared his throat once again in a rather audible manner. "Ye see sir what i be askin' is, can I be stayin', me an Khepri an' tha lil ones? Ah'll be mighty grateful to ye an' Ah'll be of service to ye sir."
He smiles roguishly his head still bowed slightly. "h be knowin yer a father too capn' Ah coul' use some advice, Ah'v never done this thing afore." he chuckles his coal like eyes shimmering hopefully.
He of course guessed that Tamba would need to see khepri as well if he aggreed to let them stay, he knew her too well to think that a nod from him would be an okay answer, she was full of pride his mate, she would need to hear it fromt he king himself. A little preyer whispered in his head, just please, allow them to stay, this place was more home than any where else in the world.

"No need to be begging, I'm not a tyrant," he chuckled at the joke in his head.
And then he strained to listen and fully comprehend Kota's request. The accent was getiting easier to understand by the day, but it was still by far the most peculiar thing Tamba had ever encountered in a lion.
As the black lion finished, Tamba appeared to be mulling things over. In reality, he was hamming things up a bit. Kota was a natural choice as a new member. Strong, diligent, and seemingly quite loyal and obedient. And Tamba had the perfect role for him to fill. But now, should his playful side tease the poor lion? Or just come out with it?
"Of course you can stay. On one condition though - I'll be needing some help with the general protection of this place. I'm a nervous king, I wouldn't want to see anything happen to my children, to your children, to anyone. Would you like to be the guard?"

'Kota looked at the king in a rather foolish manner as he spoke. He knew Tamba was a kindly king, a friend to him, he appreciated his help and his advice but he still felt nervous, the fear that they could be sent away was unbearable to the big male.
The long silence made his mucles tence slightly but at last that silence was broken and the dark males lips split in a grin. "I'd be mightly priv'laged ta be a guardin' tha shore sir, ah'll do ye prou' an' take care 'o' tha pri'" He gave an affirmative nod before tipping his thickly maned head in a deep bow. "Ye4 be a doin' me an mah fam'ly a great honour sir, ah'll protect anyone in tha pri' I won' be lettin' ye dahn." He lifted his eyes slightly then his pale lips turned in a soft smile.
"Ah 'ope ye won' min' comin ta see tha lassy, she won't be a belevin' me if I tells 'er, she can' be a movin' at tha mo, she ain't undred percent ye' plus tha cubs be weighin' 'er dahn. I tol' 'er, sleep in tha sun lass." he chuckled, realising he was rambling. "Ah be sorry sir, Ahm jus' mighty greatful fer the honor. Ah promise I won' let ye dahn."

Slightly ashamedly, Tamba was happy to let the male ramble away in his joy and he just nodded with a smile. He got the general gist of thins anyways, and it filled him with a great relief and excitement to have Kota be happy with his new duty.
"And congratulations on fatherhood," he added as an afterthought. "Judging by how happy you are, you'll have fun with your own children."

The dark male gave a quick nod to his kingly companion, a grin raising on his pale maw. "Aye sir, I be mightly 'appy tha' Khepri be bringin' some lil sailers in ta tha worl'. I be a lil frighten' but mah ol' man raised me right, tis kin'a scary gunna be a dad, ave to raise tha' babes right." He smiled his dark mane falling over his eyes.
"Least they'll always be safe, an welcome, I really cannas thank ye enough sir, fer ya kin'ness ta me an mah mate." He grinned again then letting a gentle bow tip his large thick maned head. "Ah'll be a headin' back ta Khepri na, ah'll let 'er know you'll come an see 'er sir, then maybe I can take up me new job." He chuckles gently looking away down the beach. "mah 'venturin' feet won' say no ta a bit 'o' patrolin'" He gave a slow nod then and turned to leave.
"Thankye again!" He calls bolting off back towards the den wheer he and Khepri slept.

Tamba watched with a smile as Kota ran off back towards his den, nodding his goodbyes. And suddenly, he felt rather old. He remembered that excitement as a new father...but now his brood were almost fully grown. He sighed a little and then disappeared into his den.
