Dark Fire Angel
Something was... there. Misae couldn't have put her paw on it had her life depended on it, really. As much as she tried, it escaped her grasp; as slippery as one of those bold fish that strayed too near shore. Despite her lack of understanding, the white lioness was female enough to know that something, whatever it was, was there. It wasn't a feeling that something was wrong, either. Nor right, now that she paused to think about it; it was just there.
It'd been quite a while since her father had left the lands; the wind no longer carried his scent to her, and those few places where she'd found his smell lingering had been washed away, by the rains and the wind itself. It no longer bothered her, however, for she knew he was happy, and looked forward to his return. Of course, the thoughts didn't quite change the fact something was there, at the back of her mind, and at the... er, metaphorical belly of her soul.
Lately, she'd found she wasn't quite herself, and it bothered her slightly; Hadithi had been horribly understanding, for some reason beyond her, and had not only put up with her horrific mood changed, but had been extremely delighted by them. She also craved. Oh, how she craved; she craved for the most random things on the face of the earth... craving which her mate was more than happy to sattisfy (again, for reasons beyond Misae's comprehension - how he was putting up with her was a mystery to the pale lioness). Her craving ranged from the more physical part of the emotion spectrum to an entirely random part of it; it was a wonder how the poor male had managed to find a lobster for her last night, aided only by the clear moon up in the sky.
In fact, it was a miracle he'd and caught those squids she'd asked for the other day, too, come to think about it. That plus the fact her mood seemed to do clear 180ยบ swings, from happy, exhuberant and practicaly glowing, to aggresive, moody and dare she say it? Bitchy, made the lioness feel as if she'd gone quite crazy indeed. She was randomly prone to fits of anger, and suddenly braking down into sobs; she was an emotional wrek, for reasons she couldn't understand, after all, she saw no reason to be crying, and no reason to be angry. As far as she could remember, Misae had never been anything other than extremely sweet to those around her; it was maddening.
Of course, what the female had yet to understand was that new life was stirring inside her, and that she wasn't so much in an 'emotional wrek' as she was in a 'hormonal wrek' due to this. She'd never been met with pregnancy, face to face before, and her father, being a male, hadn't quite managed to cover this section of the 'Talk'. As it was, Misae paced the small portion of the beach, up and down, up and down; her pelt smoothed out and bristled in turn, and her features seemed to change from a frown to a sigh, to a smile. She was unsure where Hadithi was, but right now Misae felt like tackling him to the ground and then slipping under his form in an attempt to hide herself from the world; the wind laughed at her, and did nothing to aliviate Misae's shame. It wouldn't tell her what was going, but did indeed seem happy, which Misae couldn't quite understand, "What is wrong with me?!" the words were voiced at the ocean, wind, sand... and really, all what would listen to her at that precise moment.
No answer came, except for a small giggle from the winds that picked up around her.
Kisoni
The Wind was giggling. It wasn't Hadithi's muse but it was so tied into his own, and his Mate's life, that he couldn't help but mark that where once he might not have. "Thank you," He whispered to the vines about him, once more returning his attention to his task at hand. After pulling the offered ones down, he set them in a pile of stones as well, then turned to make for the shore. Misae had wanted to sleep in that morning, and she'd been in one of her "moods" and so Hadithi had given her some space.
Not that he minded--he didn't mind at all, actually, which was something of a miracle. Perhaps Hadithi's saving grace for his childish ways was the amount of patience the male held inside of his bulky form. Unlike his mate, he also knew what was going on--but he thought she did as well. He'd seen one of his aunts pregnant as a child and had some idea of what pregnant women were like. That, and Kizee had listened to his explanation with something of an amused expression.
Lemurs weren't native to the area, they usually resided on Madagascar, but she'd been taken from her island seasons ago with some of her family members by things that she called "Oomaans." Hadithi had heard mention of this strange, ape-like species in a few stories, though he'd never seen them himself. Still, he didn't deny her story and the two were fast becoming friends. This was why he had been busy pulling down vines and finding shiny stones and feathers for the past few days, when he wasn't supplying his mate's cravings. There was some sort of "Oomaan" trick that Kizee wished to show him.
"Misae!" He called out when he reached the shore, narrowly missing her words. The Ocean hadn't, but nor did it supply them. Instead, it joined its mate in quiet laughter at their dance. "Misae!" Hadithi jogged up to her, tail wagging as unnaturally as usual, and he leaned in to nuzzle her neck. "I have someone i want you to meet, if you're up to it."
With a bare pause, he backed off a few steps then turned to bound halfway up the shore again. There he stopped, waiting for her with one of his goofy smiles.
Dark Fire Angel
For a moment... just the briefest of moments, Misae had half a mind to tell him that no, she didn't feel up for it; in fact, she felt like crawling under a rock, so ashamed was she of herself. However, the giggling wind, and the lapping ocean both seemed to encourage her to follow her mate; there was nothing she could lose by doing so, after all, if Hadithi had put up with her so far, he must really love her.
So thus, follow she did, with slight difficulty, actually; not only had she noticed the mood swings and the cravings, but the fact her body seemed to feel.... heavier, and perhaps just a tad useless, for some reason. It was almost as if someone had added the weight of a dead lion over her shoulder. And invisible lion she could not see; fact was, she was clumsy, and could not only not run, but even walking seemed to pain her. The joints near her paws were under stress when she moved, and her stomach felt swollen; was she sick? Needless to say, poor Misae had yet to add two and two.
Frowning somewhat, she reached her mate's side, her brows knitting in slight worry, "I'm sorry; I'm just.... slow," she idly hoped this 'somewhere' they were going to was not far away, and that whomever it was Hadithi wanted her to meet would not want to smack her silly after bare few moments within their presence.
In fact, no sooner had the thought crossed her mind that the lioness winced against Hadithi's form, her eyes darting back to the beach, "I'm a hazard to others," she mumbled, "Perhaps I should wait at the beach; I'd hate to rain your parade," quite frankly, she was entering into one of those moments where she just wanted to break down crying out of sheer frustration. She'd never felt this way before, however... what she didn't know, was that this particular visit would finally shed light to what was going, and would make her feel much better about herself. Right now however, she wasn't feeling very light, really. She felt awkward, useless, annoying and ashamed. The wind merely giggled, trickster as it was, it refused to voice was was going on, waiting with glee for the moment Misae would find out on her own; the wait would be worth it.

"Its natural," Hadithi replied, cryptic in that she wouldn't know what he meant--though he thought she did. He turned to lick her maw sweetly when she caught up to him, and slowed his own paws after that as they made their way into the jungle. To try and make things easier on her, hadithi went a little ahead of her to hold aside branches that might have made the path hard for her to navigate. "There's a storm rolling in tonight so we might have to sleep in the caves." He said, idly, as she may not have heard the 'news' from the wind already. He thought he'd felt it and the sky that morning had been a bright red--always indicative of something off the coats. Right now there were just a few clouds rolling by, but they were moving at a speed somewhat faster than the norm.
It was then she made her comment and Hadithi's eyes widened. The male blinked, surprised into silence for a moment, then he gave the softest of twitters. "you're not a hazard, Misae... I'm sure Kizee will like you a lot." He leaned in to nuzzle her neck again, a reassuring sort of gesture before stepping out into the small meadow of flowers before their home. There, near the middle, was his pile of random shinies and a large, older lemur female sitting on top of the mess. She had some bits and pieces of random in her paws, looking them over when the two lions appeared.
"I thought I heard your voice, Hadithi," the lemur laughed. Kizee had been startled when she'd met the young lion; normally predators weren't something any prey species got along with, no matter the reasoning. At first she'd been loathe to get near him, even though he protested that he wasn't hungry or hunting at the time. Once she'd realized how... unique the male was in thought, however, it'd been too much to resist. Imagine! A band of lionesses that worshiped their food! Kizee tried not to laugh, but sometimes it was a little difficult.
This was one of those times. The pregnant female, Misae (he'd performed diatribes about his mate more than a few times to the lemur), was certainly a sight. She looked to be completely miserable in the moment, though Kizee thought from experience that it could change in a moment's notice. Indeed, the grin upon Hadithi's face could easily set the female off into raging anger. The first stage of pregnancy was always a... trying time for even the most steadfast of couples. "Its good to finally see the infamous Misae."
"Misae," Hadithi smiled, settling down in the grass near the lemur, "This is my friend, Kizee. She's from a place very far away, she and her family."

No sooner had she seen the lemur that Misae peeked over her shoulder, idly wishing to all and any god that she'd have stayed at the beach; there was something about the elder primate that made the lioness want to duck her head in utter shame, "Morning..." she said mildly, flopping down awkwardly beside her mate, pausing only briefly to slider her red gaze over at Kizee, and just as the shame had come, it left, replaced by a wave of curiosity she did nothing to hide. Slowly she leaned in, sniffling at the other's pelt, "Far away? Like I came from far away too?" she was at once intrigued by the idea; she'd not seen any creatures quite like this before, and tell truth, she was rather thankful for the mild distraction from her er... swinging moods.
Despite the fact the lioness wasn't as overtly childish as her mate, there was an innocent gleam in her eyes, her head tilting first to one side and then to the other before a smile appeared over her maw, "I really do like your tail..." it was perhaps, easy for Kizee to notice that Misae had no idea what was going on, what with the way she was acting; as soon as the curiosity came, it vanished too, replaced by a mild nervous feel that forced the female to fidget in place, "I uhm..." she had been comforted by the words Hadithi had spoken to her just bare moments ago, but still, the haunting idea plagued her mind just enough to force a shadow over her form. It showed in her eyes as she looked away, her ears flopping back.
When she glanced back at the other female, she offered her another smile, this one almost sheepish, which was quite a sight... for this was a lioness, a predator, smiling as this at a poor lemur, "I'm not quite myself as of late; I'd have come to meet you sooner but I..." feel ashamed. Well, it wasn't voiced out loud, but the idea was there, the words ringing silently before them as the lioness lifted a paw to her maw and coughed. At least, she figured, she wasn't feeling sick; just the other morning she'd been sick by the ocean side.
Actually, she'd been sick nearly every other morning, come to think about it, "I apologise if I do something out of the norm," a pause, "Yes, i feel the need to apologise beforehand," the later was said almost as if an explanation for Hadithi, her smile turned upon him, still sheepish, "My name, as you know... it Misae, pleased to meet you," her eyes lowered o the pile of 'shinnies' at her feet, her head tilting in silent question.

Hadithi glanced at his mate, a little confused by her need to apologize. He wondered, briefly, if she was even happy about this. She seemed so confused, at the times when she wasn't completely ticked off. This was the first time Hadithi'd even considered this and... he wasn't so certain he was glad of thinking it. He leaned in to nuzzle her, nose working under her chin until he rested his head against her chest. The subject was so sensitive he didn't even know where to begin with asking this. Fortunately, Kizee had no such issues.
As she began to string some vines and beads together, working more by instinct than design, the little (by comparison) lemur looked over her two new neighbors. "Thank you," She responded to the sort-of compliment, "I rather like it myself. Fluffy and all that." Kizee chuckled slightly, holding up a string of blue to the white lionesses fur. After a moment she nodded and continued on in her work. Unlike the lions, she was able to do this easily as she possessed far more agile "fingers" than they ever would.
"and really, Misae, there's little reason to apologize. Besides, this will past soon enough. It only lasts a moon or so in most females while they're pregnant." Kizee shrugged, "Not that I like to be bitched at, mind, but I did my fair share when i had some babes of my own." That said, she tied off the end of a vine and held up one completed necklace. "Ta-daa!"
Hadithi rose his head then, blue eyes going to the jewels. "That's amazing!" For indeed, to him it was. No lion could have ever accomplished that--at least, he thought. Kere had managed to so something similar a few days back, but he hadn't managed to get the male to teach him how. Kere had been much more obsessed with finding his Muse, which was something far more important to Hadithi's mind that something like a necklace. "And beautiful!"
"thank you, thank you," Kizee gave a chuckle and a few nods of her head. She looked to Misae, then toddled over on her back paws to drop the loop of beads about her necklace. "i thought that'd look good with your fur," she nodded, "... but you need a green one too." That said, the Lemur once more returned to the pile and began to string.
Turning back to the topic at hand, Hadithi gave Misae a sheepish smile, "She's right, you know.. my aunt was a right terror when she was pregnant with her cubs... i just assumed it was normal for such events."

And her mind.... officialy broke. Into a million little pieces; it was easily displayed over her features, her eyes growing wide, her body tensing, her ears perking up, making her look briefly more like a rabbit than the lioness she was. Of course, this lasted only a few moments, after which came fear, followed swiftly by relief, and then happiness. It was almost amusing to watch, really, in a way, if not slightly pathetic.
Tell truth, Misae hadn't heard anything beyond the word 'pregnant', and thus missed the amazing feat of the necklace's completion till it was pressed against her throat, "I'm pregnant?" it was voiced so delicately, so tentively that it must've given the other two an idea of what she'd been going through; being a b***h while not quite understanding why, was highly frustrating to say the least.
Well, that surely explained a lot of what had been going on; in fact, now that Misae was finally able to pause and think about it, it explained everything. The sigh of relief she released was so large it was almost as if she'd been holding it in for days; weeks even. Now, she had both an explanation and an excuse, and the wind picked up about them and roared with laughter at the sight, amused by the scene it'd just been able to see, "It's not funny..." the words were mumbled at the passing wind, but really, it only made it laugh even harder, the thundering from far away almost seemingly in chorus with the whipping air, "Why does everyone think it's so funny?" the later was whispered under her breath, a childish pout marring her features before she turned her attention towards the necklace.
Instantly, her curiosity was perked, her red eyes widening for the second time in brief moments, "Beautiful..." she echoed her mate's opinion, sitting on her hind haunches in order to grasp at the beads herself, tilting her head to look at them against the pale pelt of her neck. It was only when Hadithi spoke that Misae wince, "Ididn'tknowIwaspregnant," the words were rushed together, her ears flopping back sheepishly, as if a means to explain all what had gone through her mind, "I thought I was... going crazy, and the wind kept on laughing at me..."
Well, she thought, it was no wonder it'd been laughing. She must've been putting a downright show.

Both Lion and Lemur stared at her before bursting out laughing. It was just too cute, and funny, to help it. Hadithi tried to hide his guaffs in his paws, though it was failing miserably. "oh you poor dear!" Kizee managed first, reaching out a paw to pat Misae's in a motherly fashion. These two lions were so adorable, she thought, how could she have ever been afraid of them? "Imagine! Hadithi, why didn't you tell her?"
"I thought she knew!" he protested, unable to help laughing through it. He tried desperatly to obtain seriousness, less his mate's feelings be hurt, and gave her a pleading look, "I thought you knew! I've known for a few days now..."
The male wriggled a little, another of his un-lionlike trademarks. He sat up to wrap a paw over her shoulders as best one could and lapped at one of her ears. "I... hope you're happy?" He gave a sheepish smile. "i am.. i mean.. y'know, family is good. especially our family..."
Beneath them Kizee gave a snort of amusement. She retreated back to her pile to finish the green necklace she was making to match Misae's first one. It was like having two overgrown dress-up dolls, and somewhat fun at that. Indeed, even with their crazy talk of sentient winds, she thought she rather liked the pair. Perhaps this would be a good place for her and her brood to settle.
"The wind would," Hadithi nodded in agreement, he gave a chuckle. "The wind has no children; It can't, really, so why would it understand things such as birth? That, on occasion, can be a problem with certain muses..." He pondered that, "But that's what the pride is for. To teach what the muses occasionally cannot, even in their vast knowledge." Everything related to that, with him, Misae had to be used to it by now. Besides, even if it were pointed out to him, he wouldn't have seen the issue with that. To Hadithi, his culture (and the fact that at present it was rather doomed-seeming) was everything.
"Here we are... try this on." Kizee looped the now-completed green necklace around Misae's neck without waiting for a response. It matched as well as she thought it would, and the female gave a nod. After rubbing her chin a moment, she once more returned to the pile to dig through the items. A few flowers later and Misae's ensemble was complete.

Of course the laughter came, and all what Misae could do was lower her head slightly, hunching her back up in an awkward position; it made her look sheepish as she watched them. Looks like the joke was on her; literally. Letting out a sigh, she allowed her ears to flop over her head just as her mate rounded her up into a bear-of-a-hug. Or rather, as best of one as a lion could give, "M'okay," she mumbled into his pelt as he brought her head to his neck, giving the pelt there a slight lick.
After all, she actually felt relieved by the fact it wasn't she whom had been going crazy, but rather, was merely the way her body was dealing with.... cubs. The thought hit her suddenly and the lioness lowered her gaze to her stomach; it'd also explain the kicks and morning sickness. At least she could rule out the idea that she'd eaten something in bad state; as much as she tried to, Misae couldn't help but blush. Looking down at her forepaws, she fidgeted slightly, lifting her weight from one paw to the other as she turned to gaze at the lemur; even under her pristine white pelt, the lioness was blushing bright pink. It was amusing to note that it was actually visible over her cheeks, running over the bridge of her nose, "My father uhm.... never..." she coughed offering them both a sheepish smile, "I never really got a mother till my father mated and uh, they had enough with one another while they were bringing me here; she couldn't tell me much."
That much was true; in fact, she wasn't all that sure Tsi'hilu would've been able to tell her much even if the pale Ela'wadiyi would have sat herself down to the task. It was right about then that the exuberant happiness returned, and Misae had to keep herself from standing on her hind legs to dance; not only would it hurt her joints, but it might harm the cubs inside, she thought, and thus she remain sitting, twitching, with a large, broad smile appearing over her features, "Yes," she said almost cryptically, answering Hadithi's previous question, a deep purr rumbling through her chest, "I'm excited," indeed she was; in fact, had it not been for the lemur pressing the second necklace to her pelt, she'd have forgotten all about the fact they were.... quite literally, dressing her up.
"This is exquisite..." she breathed as she stood up once both her mate and Kizee were done with her; now she was not only glowing due to the pregnancy, but the necklace and flowers about her frame seemed to somehow accentuate the fact. She was happy, and thankfully, no longer confused, "Thank you," a pause as she tilted her head, looking over at Hadithi before her gaze slid towards Kizee; it was obvious her silent question was directed at the other female.

Kisoni
"What do you think, the blues or pinks?" the lemur asked Misae with a wink. She had seen the look, and being woman, knew what it meant. Beside her, Hadithi blinked at the pink then made a face. He didn't mind the colour, not at all, but for some reason the thought of wearing it himself was repulsive. He nuzzled into Misae instead, nibbling on her ear.
"while you two decide, I'm going to go work on dinner." It was important to keep Misae properly fed, after all. So, that said, the male rose to his feet and gave a bow to the lemur. "Thank you for all of this, Kizee."
"Don't mention it, youngster... and if you find any purple flowers you like, bring them along to us!" Kizee called after his retreating form. She laughed, looking once more to Misae for a decision as their work continued on.
