"Well, here it goes..."
The brown lioness picked her way through the damp lands, after she had parted ways with Banji. Such a sweet lion, perhaps a bit too sweet...but she didn't regret it. Perhaps that's what Mana had meant, to find something to live for. A new home...maybe the chance at a new family. It was something to keep her head up and not give up.
She heard of the pride that lived here, but she didn't know much else about it. Peering through the trees, she still couldn't see much, and hadn't a clue as who to talk to. Maybe if she saw someone, she could ask if it was a possibility to meet the king or queen.
Once she saw someone, anyway.

Asali'jua opened her bright eyes halfway, peering out into the dimly-lit swamp. She lay almost fully submerged in one of the murky pools of the swamp, taking an hour or so out of the day to cool off and relax; Jabali could handle the cubs for a little while, she was sure. If her son Nari had been here, he would have been helping to babysit, but she'd sent him away in hopes that he might come back with a mate.
As she thought about her brown-eyed son, a whisper of feeling tingled through her mind, compelling her to rise. Never one to ignore intuition, she pulled herself from her resting place - just in time to come face-to-face with a dusty brown lioness, as it turned. She smiled even as the water sluiced off her body, leaving behind soaked and brown-tinged pale fur that at the legs was outright muddy.

Startled, the brown lioness stumbled back, but managed to keep herself silent. She didn't just expect someone to pop up like that, out of the ground, literaly. She gave herself a moment to gather her wits again, so she would be prepared to speak calmly. No use in trying to ask for a favor from a stranger if you couldn't even speak clearly!
Nyota bobbed her head awkwardly, trying to show a bit of respect before vocalizing her request. "Umm, hello." She peered around for a moment, as if to see if any others would appear so suddenly. Maybe....maybe not. Her rose-coloured eyes settled themselves on the lioness in front of her, certain that she was the only one around.
"I was looking for the prdie that....that I heard lived here?" She flushed lightly, hoping that she was right, since it would be quite embarassing if she was wrong, all this time.

Nyota felt like the other was looking over her. Perhaps just her body type, her health? She wouldn't blame her. Nyota was a bit small so far, but she new that she held children again. Her body had begun to flesh out a bit more, especially since Banji could catch better food then she ever could.
But her mind shook her back to the present. "A home, I think," she said, without really realizing it until the words had drifted out of her mouth. Oops, that was silly. She moved her head a bit closer to her neck, as if hoping to not get repremanded for such a blunt comment. No use trying to cover it up, it was already gone, away from her.
