Background: Atoryu was born as a loner in the mountains to a wolf demon father and human mother. His father was angry that his son was half human and took the form of an ordinary wolf most of the time. As a result, he beat him. Atoryu's mother never stood up to him, but she loved her son and stood up to his father once and only once. His mad rage engulfed him and he killed his human wife, driving the eight year old Atoryu away. He stumbled down through the mountains in his human form, but finally succumbed to the cold and reverted to his wolf form, loping easily through the snows and wound up in a town at the base of the mountain range. He reverted to his human form and wandered in, a scarred, emaciated little boy, but they rejected him in fear because of his ears and fangs.
He was hurt and angry, so fleeing the village, he changed to a wolf and re-entered the village, raiding the houses and scaring all the of the children, even to the point of harming one. But once he tasted human blood, his nausea kicked in and he fled, questioning his purpose. He wandered the world, scraping by, almost never in his wolf form. He even forgot his own birthday, only remembering how old he was by the change of seasons. Finally, after he had thought that his life was over, he found a wolf pack. He was mystified- there were other wolves who lived together? He had no idea- and these were somewhat like him. But they rejected him because he 'smelled too human'. Anger arising again, he bit into the Alpha male's neck and drew blood, but this too nauseated him. He couldn't draw blood from wolves, and couldn't draw blood from humans. Now he is a loner, hunting by himself and avoiding families, thus avoiding pain.
