Relief... After what seemed like forever, mismatched grey and blue eyes sparkled as they swept over the waves of the hills he'd known as a young cub... It was the lands he'd always called home, even when he'd left to try and find himself. The large, silver coated male was definitely pleased to find that everything looked just as he'd left it... Just the thought of being home made him content.

He would have gone to see his mother, being the ever obedient son that he was... But he knew that Nephthys would inform their mother of his return as well... His lips twitched into a smile at the thought of his sister. She was such a strong, young lioness - he was glad he had the chance to get to know her over the time he'd left the lands. He should probably spend some more time with his adopted brother, as well... He wanted to be a better brother... he was ready for change.

Large, grey paws padded carefully across the ground, eyes glancing around for any other signs of life. Upon returning, he'd learned the last known location of the lioness he was searching for had been around here, though, according to the lioness he'd spoken to, the sun had been a lot lower in the sky at the time... No matter... Isoke had to be around there somewhere... He wouldn't stop until he found her...

It had been a few months since Tafari had saved her from the beasts, and in turn disappeared from her life. And since the day she grew angry at him, and turned away, she never forgot the regret that pawed at her soul. Now, now that she was grown up to her lean, new form, and her mind aged to see the light, all she could do was feel pain in her past actions. Now, all she could remember of the male was the pale form that danced through her dreams, and the light sky that reminded her of his eyes. It had been forever, or so it seemed, and all she could do was wait and hope some day he would return.

Now, she was settled on the rocks of the lands, sun baithing her coal pelt and just smiling softly in mock-bliss. Her form indeed had took on that of an adult, her body having lost its baby-fat and her legs having grown to cause her new slim form to be larger. Muscles lined her legs from the new hunting she took part in, and her mane had finally grown out to cover one of her steel blue eyes just so, creating a mystery.

She was an adult now, a true princess in every aspect and ready to take on the world around her, one lion at a time. Of course, that was only the outer appearance, an act she kept up to hide the pain of being alone. The only nightmare that threatened her beautiful outlook on life was just that. Being alone.

After a long moment, a soft sigh escaped her maw, and she moved to settle on her belly. Blinking her blue eyes lazily, she was glad that she was alone. For now, she let down the barriers as her memories flooded her system, and slowly closed her eyes. At least in her dreams, he would always be there right in front of her.

The time that had passed had been too long. What was supposed to be just a week or two turned into months. He wasn't proud of himself for leaving... or rather, running away... but perhaps he was able to come out of it much stronger than he had been. Not only had he gained more muscle under his shiny, light grey coat, but he'd grown to his full size as well. He would soon be seeking out whoever was now leading the pride, asking to be allowed to return to the place he called home, but for now... There was only one thing on his mind.

He wondered what had become of her... Perhaps she had already found another to settle down with.

Tafari stops in his tracks at that thought, shaking his head and trying to clear his mind. He knew better than to think of things like that. He shouldn't be going into this, thinking that he could very well expect her to have waited for him, especially after being gone for so long. She was a beautiful lioness, no doubt growing more beautiful with age...

And it was that thought that had him moving again, picking up his pace as he moved gracefully across the fields of gold towards the main dens. He knew very well that not everything ends well, and that something could have very well happened to her in his absence... A wave of guilt rushed over him, trying to once again rid his mind of such thoughts, especially bad ones... If she had died while he was gone... when he could have been there to protect her...

If only he could see her again... it was his intention to do so... all that mattered now was finding her... Or at least someone who would tell him what had become of her while he was away for so long.

He would never forget her smell... he knew that much... And as if that thought had just reminded him to do so, he lifts his head up in the air to sniff for signs of life nearby, his heart nearly stopping in his chest as he did just that. No more than a couple dozen yards away came a familiar scent... Too familiar to be real... The young adult changed his direction from where he was heading, turning east towards the scent, breaking out into a light cantor as he hurried to see if he was right. He had to be right... there was no other way.

No more than a few yards away he came to a stop again, his mismatched eyes sweeping over the dark figure lounging out on the rocks upwind from him. That would explain why she couldn't sense him just yet... She was just as he'd imagined... even though he could only see her long, slender back... her tail twitching ever so slightly as she dozed — or at least he assumed that was what she was doing...

She should be more careful about her surroundings... Sure, this might be the pride's lands... but that didn't mean nothing could happen to her here...

A small sigh escapes though his teeth, carefully padding a few more feet towards the rocks. "You should at least face downwind while you rest..." he said softly, not needing to raise his voice much more than that for her to hear should she be awake...

It had definitely been too long...
