Nsundu nodded with the cub's logic, and began heading back to the shore. After nudging all of the items they'd collected into a small pile, she began searching for a large leaf. That was how she had carried the items before, and it had seemed to work really well. Finding what she wanted, the lioness returned and set the leaf down. Once the pile was on top of the leaf, she bent down to pick up one side. "You can take the other side, if you'd like." She didn't want to Taka to feel left out.

Taka quickly picked up the other end of the leaf, liking Nsundu's clever idea. She pulled her weight, and thought in her own head how difficult this would be for Nsundu without her. C'mon, she couldn't have done it alone! (Of course, this was from a cub's perspective, not an adolescent's.) When her paws finally emerged from the water, she didn't bother to fuss about them getting wet to pick up dirt. Her paws were dirty about half-way up her legs, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She took more steps than Nsundu did to keep up, but did so with a smile.
