I've heard that you need a LOT of rose petals for this project. Let us know how it turns out though, I'd love to hear about it. I ran across instructions years ago in an herbal but have never had access to enough rose petals to try it.

I picked about a medium-sized mixing bowl full of petals & have 8 beads drying now. Not too bad, since it just means they'll be made over time & there's' no real hurry.

We'll see how they end up, though.

Incidentally, I tried making them with an iron chain from wind chimes in the pan, since I don't own a cast iron pan OR any rusty iron nails, and it turned the chain black but the rose-mix is still brown. Doesn't look bad, though.

Yes.

We do not have the most strongly scented roses--Heirlooms would be better--but they smell pretty good.

They look neat too--I made a bracelet with some of them last night & am quite pleased with the result.
