Sawa had come back to the lands in hopes of spotting his friend but it seemed as if the red lion still did not want to come home. He had run out of ideas of where to look, his best buddy could have been half across the continent by now!

Still he rather liked the Kusini'Mwezi lands and didn't mind strolling through them, no one seemed to notice more often than not. And if they did most members just assumed he was also a member of the lands! Which was lucky in his eyes.

It was late in the afternoon, in the first of December; night was steadily coming on, and, as Mahoka reached a great elevation, the air was cold and sharp. In the west there was a great suffusion of cold, red light, which made the sides of the little valley look only the more rugged and dusky. She was out of sight, as far as she was concerned, hidden behind a variety of bushes and shrubs; she sat there alone, in the stillness, which was just touched by the vague murmur, somewhere, of a mountain brook.

Mahoka felt her heart give a sudden flutter and her ears rose, a concession by which she often endulged in at unknown, unfamilliar sounds. She shifted her gaze cautiously, frowning. If Mahoka were more aware of her surroundings, perhaps she would have seen the foreign adolescent making his way past. Or perhaps she simply chose to ignore him -- she was admittedly not a courageous person, and even the small act of confronting a stranger frightened her.

    Perhaps it was both.

He began to hum as he went along, he almost hadn't noticed the female. But her scent seemed to linger in the air and when he turned his head he smiled slowly. This is why he loved these lands! They were filled with beautiful females!

His tail flicked and with a grin he shifted his path, heading toward her. He was big for an Adolescent, perhaps as big as her, but he didn't look threatening. Sawa always looked rather cheerful; friendly.

Though he had a mate he was not beyond flirting with others. This was okay as far as he was concerned, Nadra never had a problem with it. In fact she encouraged him to be with other females.

Or rather.. she wanted other females with them both. Which was a bit strange to say the least but Sawa thought it normale to be a male and have a few mates, not just one. He had such a loving heart how could he ever choose only one lady?

It wasn't as if he was the type to love 'em and leave 'em (these things happened though), he rather enjoyed having something to take care of!

"Ello there miss." He called before he got too close, to give her time to take notice of him and judge if he was a bad guy our not. He wasn't about to sneak up on her and surprise her, she'd probably attack him if that had been the case!

She watched the male approach carefully, her eyes every so often glancing sideways; thankfully, there was an easy route for a quick escape (if things were to go downhill). He, like Asi, was interesting in the way he moved -- although his was far different. Mahoka was an observer, even a philospher, so his friendly demeanor did not go unnoticed. She rose from her sitting posistion and smiled, thinking it very interesting that he were to speak to her. She was not particularly attractive -- especially now that her travels had aged her so, so this -- justly, perhaps -- confused her.

"Hello there," she responded, in a tone of great kindness.

He kept grinning. She was older and perhaps a little worn looking but Sawa had no qualms about age. And while she wasn't stunning he certainly didn't think her ugly. No, he could never think of any female on the gods' earth to be ugly. All of the females were beautiful in their own way weather it be something as odd as an exotic fur color or an adorable laugh!

He dipped his head to her when she was looking and positioned himself a bit away from her, looking around slowly. "Yeh part o' this pride?" He asked cheerfully.

Mahoka leaned back in her place, her eyes fixed upon him, and smiled happily.

"Indeed, I am, however you don't look familiar -- though I'm perhaps not the best person to make this observation. I'm hardly around myself," She smiled once more, then took an inquisitive step forward, then another, shuffling forward until she was a little closer. Sitting a foot or so away from him, she considered warmly, her heart giving a little flutter. He was certainly very handsome, or rather, as she phrased it to herself, very beautiful.

He chuckled and nodded. "Tha's righ', I do no' come from these lands. I 'ad a chum 'oo was born 'ere though so i's nice teh visit sometimes." Ah so a part of this pride but she traveled? Traveling was what life was made of! That's what Sawa felt, anyhow.

"An may I 'ave the pretty lady's name?" He questioned, head tilting. "Though I 'spose it be more fair fer me teh say mine first. Sawa!" He was always tryingto charm the girls, even if it only ended up amusing them. It was just his way, weather they wanted it or not.

It seemed to Mahoka that no one who had ever met Sawa could ever forget him; but though she made this reflexion she kept it to herself, almost as you would keep something precious. He was a character, indeed, and quite amusing -- the amusing that left you wanting more.

"It is indeed dandy meeting up with old friends. I'm Mahoka," she replied, feeling herself consciously go red at the term "pretty". She had not heard such compliments in a long time. But it gave her pleasure -- to hear herself be complimented by a Lion of such judicial air, and she felt it proper to return such kindness.

"You are very handsome yourself." She observed, smiling delightfully.

He smiled and looked rather pleased with the compliment. Even though he was very good looking, this was something he knew, he didn't often get complimented about it. He didn't mind so much but it felt really nice for his looks to be recognized, even if he also knew life was not always about looks!

"Mahoka." He purred out and nodded, as if he was satisfied with her name. "Pleasure tah meet yeh." His tail flicked and he looked around slowly. He knew the Kusini population was large and that the lands were a fair size.. but still... he never saw anyone around.

"SO where do all the o'ers o' yer pride 'ide away?" He asked curiously, laughing slightly.

It may be thought that Mahoka was too hopeful. But, as she said, she had her impression; it seemed to hersufficient, and she had no wish to modify this part of her being. Although she now felt a little shy and apprehensive of his motives, she also felt herself growing fond of him very quickly.

"The pleasure is all mine," she responded, pausing for a moment. "And I really couldn't tell you. I'm away from these lands more than I'm here." She laughed nervously, then wrapped herself in silence, determined for her new friend to speak rather than herself.

"Ah I see." He replied and nodded. "SO yeh be a traveler?" He sounded interested and pleased at the same time. "I be a traveler as well. Yeh must'a seen qui' a bi' of the lan' then, eh?" He grinned at her, tail curling around his paws as he waited patiently, hoping she would tell him a little about the places she'd traveled to. He wanted to travel to many places, though he hadn't yet.

At least he wasn't bound by any pride.

"I've seen quite a few places," she murmered, taking a hesitant step forward before seating herself in front of him. "Waterholes, forests, vast plains of endless sand. There were various strange animals I'd never seen before and can't even begin to describe. The most bizzare thing I saw, however, was prey and predator alike gathering around their chosen waterhole to drink. Even enemies have to put aside there differences to survive."

"Sometimes, on my travels, it would rain. Not small April showers, but storms that were accompanied by bitter cold winds, stripping the colored autumn leaves from their branches and littering the ground with their cadavers. Most animals hid in their homes or scurried away to find shelter, but not me. I find the rain beautiful." Her expression indicated that she felt very deeply about this subject; that she was afraid to have his opinion. She averted her gaze quickly, her pretty eyes, which were illumined by a sort of brilliant modesty, down cast.

He sat there looking entranced by her words. He was trying to imagine all of the things she was speaking of, hoping that one day he too could see these things.

"They soun' won'erful." He breathed, smiling slowly at her.

As she began to speak of rain his gaze moved toward the sky, roaming over it until it reached the horizon. Rain storms, huh? He'd only seen those off in the distance... she was amazingly lucky.

As he looked back to her she was avoiding looking at him and he smiled, leaning forward and ducking down to look up at her from beneath her gaze. "The rain do be beautiful, it gives this place life. All aroun' us." He didn't know why she thought it was beautiful but he thought rain was amazing and stunning because of the life it brought about.
