Itachi even fled from Jiriaya so you can just imagine the Sannin level powers... and experience will also be one critical factor in a battle. Orochimaro can even put up with the other two sannins at the same time.

you make good points but Sarutobi sealed the kages with the shinigami if you didn't forget. And if you remember correctly yes he ran but Itachi burned a hole in Jiraiya's technique showing that he has great power. Sannin maybe one of the high levels of ninja but Itachi was an ANbu at the age of 13 i think. Tsunade and Jiraiya know not to take Itachi lightly because they know his strength and ability, and likewise with Orochimaru. Again he even proclaim that Itachi is too strong to take his body now. Do Itachi prolly can't kill him because he has the immotality technique, Itachi still be able to beat him.

Umm, the Kage's were sealed by the third. Plus, if Orochimaru could have beaten Itachi that easily then he never would have had to leave Akatsuki because of him. I even have proof that Itachi would win.
