Find some videos - music videos, live music, festivals or clubs - that define the Goth experience for you.

Here's some for me:

Trad Goth and general scene

I posted this on another thread, but here it is again - Wave Gotik Treffen 2007 in Laipzig
Great video just walking around

One of the greatest weekends of my life - Mera Luna 2007. I actually met a few of the people featured in this video and spoke to them in English wink
Mera Luna memories

Elgent Gothic Lolita

For me Emilie Autumn demonstrates the EGL look incredibly, especially when she does it all white.

Of course tribute must be paid to the founders, Malice Mizer (and especially Mana), although a little theatrical for my liking in places
Video for Gardenia

Cybergoth

I know, I know, almost all of you are American so this will be irrelevant to you. But still...

An interesting, obscure music video filmed in a Goth club somewhere (Slimelight or a Berlin club I'm guessing)
Enjoy the obscurity!

Another amazing memory of mine from last summer, Infest Festival here in my very homeland of the UK. If someone asked me 'What is a cybergoth?', I'm refer them to this video.
Infest 2007

Your turn - post some videos! Especially, since I NEVER see any, someone show me some clips of the American scene! Since you guys are so quiet about it, I'd really like to see some footage.

It's not irrelevant to this American Goth -sniff-. I absolutely love Cybergoth, it's had a good impact on my life, as a Goth.
I found this video that has some nice example of style Some Cybergoths. And also a U.S. Cybergoth club Maskinat.

Well I don't have any videos of where I live... I completely agree that we (Americans) are quite quiet about our scene.
So I'll give a tiny sample of my experience through music, past to present.
Malice Mizer (as you posted) and Kittie, then The Rasmus and Cruxshadows,
then these days Schwarz Stein, Razed in Black , and Aural Vampire.

As for the U.S. scene... I needed something to distract me (cause I had a bad day) so I went through a long
list of US clubs and found some examples for you, unfortunately it's few and they're simply advertisements.
LA. Malediction Society, FL. Factory, FL. Necropolis/Independent Bar

Lastly I found this a good example of different styles Castle Party, Poland.

Thanks ShadowLotus! Some good stuff and some American stuff in there too. 3nodding

Is there nobody else with good videos though? I thought this'd be more popular...

Well I found it SO HARD to find American videos so I'm not surprised if others have a problem too. We really do tend to keep things to ourselves and friends unless others are here in the flesh. Just more of a guess though, it's just how things are around here.

I hope others get into it too I rather like this topic.

Mask by Bauhaus is a good example of how old horror films influenced the early scene.

Emilie Autumn doesn't do anything for EGL. She claims she does, but really, look into what EGL actually is, and you'll realize she's just capitalizing on a still-fringe fashion style in the west.

I'm just saying. Especially since you mention Malice Mizer. Mana kinda pushed the movement into being in the nineties (the fashion itself has been in Japan since before Mana, but he brought it into popularity).

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jGVPEcaMShQ . Because it happens at clubs, and will continue to happen. :]

http://deathguild.com/ has no videos that I know of, but it's fun regardless.

I'm sorry but I cringed when you said EA demonstrates the EGL look incredibly.

While I love Emilie Autumn, and think she's fabulously fashionable, she's not be any means lolita. At all. In any sense.

..and while I'm at it, Malice Mizer didn't found lolita, they just popularized it. =)

and while we're at that, even though it borrowed the name, EGL has absolutely nothing to do with goth in the first place
