it depends onh who invited you as to why . . .
each mod runs a subforum . . . since engineer can't run all of the subforums herself, she rents them out . . . to allow that person to edit and control thier subforum she makes them a mod . . .
she runs marketplace hangout . . . as her subforum . . .

O.o It's just a LOT to look at. This is like insane how many subforums there are and that many people *falls over* omg... I got a fairly random invite to this too..... O.o It's a very busy place.
